Hey guys, picked up the octy this morning. All seems well. New cable and fuse box. Checked and cleared the voltage engine code so nothing else was damaged, well only my wallet!! Good to be back on the road tho. Thanks for the advice.

Yea Chris just melted the fuse box end. There is some bolts that are plastic welded into the actually box, on mine it had melted the box so this bolt came out and was free to move about! Pita!

If I didn't need my car for work I would of snapped that right from you! At least I'll have piece of mind that it shouldn't happen again! Just not what needed to be stung with in the middle of the week! Recaro seat money has gone now :(

Hey guys, I've had a bit of a nightmare, yesterday tea time I was driving home in the octy when my radio went off then came back on, about a minute later the car was in limp home mode. After another 5 minutes my car finally gave up. I pulled over and tried and and nothing. I rang the AA after 40minutes he turned up. The black cable from the alternator had melted the plastic around it but it was all in tacked! The AA guy checked all the cables with a volt meter and the cable was just drawing to much power/heat, he then bypassed the fuse so I could drive it to the garage. I got it there. My mechanic texted me today saying he'd order the bits from skoda, Fuse £4 Fuse box £63 Alternator cable £53 Does that sound right? £165 he's charging me in total with parts. Thanks

As the the title really, I've fitted a set of genuine mud guards to the front of my vrs combi and was wondering if there's a fixing point on the underside of the guard as there seems to be a hole for one? At the moment there fixed with the torx screws in to the wheel lining and a clip at the top. I hope this makes sense! Thanks

I'm running the ap kit on my vrs combi, I find them very subtle, nice drop and a responsive feel when driving!

I'm running a full luk g60/vr6, bearing and bolts conversion. I've never had a problem with it in all gears and high rpm! It's been six months now and totally solid!

Hi guys, just opinions or advice on what silicone hoses to by at a decent price, I've been looking at the js proformance ones (made in Britain) any body used/got these? Ideally hopping to change boost, coolant and anyothers in blue. I know of the samco, forge ones but can't justify that money right now, but on the other hand don't want Chinese c**p! If any body Is selling anything also please get in touch! Thanks

Hi guys! I've done the double din mod on the octavia, all went well as there was loads of info on how to do it! The next step was to replace speakers I've done this but just some advice on the fronts, I've not gone to mad I've just bought the alpine type e ones as there a direct fit. I also bought some if them adaptor looms so I didn't have to butcher the wires. I got the rears in fine (estate modal) Come to the fronts go them in fine too but one problem, there wasn't any where to plug the front tweeter wiring into? Do i have to splice them wires into the main speaker wires? Or should I just leave them as they are? I left the rears disconnected as there's to much fuzz coming from them. Any info would be good! Thanks

Thank you! Is it worth changing the the turbo oil feed pipe too? Does this get blocked to?

Hey just after some advice on the oil pick up pipe to the turbo? Ive had a new cambelt and water pump fitted as I didn't really have any history from when it was done by the last owner. I've read somewhere there's a oil pipe to the turbo that gets easier blocked after time and starves the turbo? Can anybody link me to one to buy,part number or even where it's located! 03 octavia vrs estate thanks!
