I didn't check the gap, But they looked pretty much ok.. No burning or anything really but i will change them now after what you have said.. Thank you

Just need some basic advice.. When is it advisable to change the plugs? Car has done 45000 miles and still on original ones. Took them out and they look ok, I know Skoda recommends approx every 4 years,, Don't want to throw £60 at a new set if these are still doing their job...Thanks
  3. Mines the same, Slight whiff of petrol in the oil.. On cold mornings dont let the car idle to warm up as the auto choke sends more fuel though which if left idling can create a small amount of fuel going past the piston rings and mixing with the oil in the sump.. on cold mornings clear the windscreen of frost etc and drive normally (dont drive it hard, Until it has warmed up).. Regular oil and filter changes are a must on these turbo charged cars.. Plenty of videos about this on YouTube,,, It's normal..

I'd read that using 508.00/509.00 can increase oil consumption. It seemed very thin when i used it, I get my oil from TPS and the long life 3 5w/30 was nearly £20 cheaper for 5 Ltrs. Don't suppose there's much difference between the two of them, Just wanted to make doubly sure i can use 5w/30...Thanks for the info.

Dont think mine's got a sticker under the bonnet.. Is there any real reason for using 0w/20? Mines the 1.5 TSI ACT.
  6. Changed the oil yesterday using Quantum long life 4 0w/20 (508.00-509.00) ''blue oil'',,, Been reading up on it and noticed i can use long life 3 5w/30 (504.00-507.00), Is this true as the 5w/30 is cheaper than long life 4. Why is the 0w /20 oil used, Is it purely to reduce emissions..Thanks
  7. Thanks, I'll have a look.
  8. IT's a 70 Reg (2020) SE L It's a 70 Reg (2020) SE L
  9. Has anyone installed the 12v socket in the boot as mine doesn't have it. If so, Is the wiring loom for it behind the trim or does it have to be wired in somewhere? Thanks..
  10. Dont worry, About 98% of us have this problem. The infotainment system on a lot of Audi/VW cars is a pain. Only thing i can say is when it happens press and hold the on/off for about 10 seconds and the system reboots itself.. But keep on at the dealer where you bought the car, They are responsible for getting the software fix done.. I thought they had fixed this on newer cars, But obviously not...
  11. Just looked at mine. When the boot is opened with the torch in place the LED'S on the side illuminate ( i think there is 3 of them) but not the top ones. when the torch is removed and switched on the top LED'S illuminate ( i think there is 2 of them) but not the 3 side ones..
  12. Have you checked there is power going to the torch contacts in the boot
  13. 2020 SE L....When you take the torch out of it's holder does it switch on ok?
  14. When i open the boot on mine, Both lights come on, Fixed one and removable torch.

Mine has now started with this problem now. Phoned my local dealer to ask about possible recall or cures for vehicles with this problem and was told they know nothing about it. They even told me that they had not heard about any other models with this issue.. There seem to be plenty of things related to this so how they hadn't heard about it is beyond me.

Mines doing the same, Booked in for 2 weeks time, I just live with it .... Wait until the car is serviced and the garage doing the work will (should) reset it for you.. If you can't wait go into setting on the info screen and reset service reminder.
  17. It's sort of a nice touch but i've never used mine. But yes i noticed Skoda stopped the torch on later models, Probably cost cutting.
  18. The Kamiq does have the torch (mine included) Just depends on which model spec..
  19. Best thing you can buy is an OBD code reader, Pretty cheap to buy. I think (no completely sure) they can be switched off via the infotainment screen, Check there first, Might have switched them off.
  20. I bought a new 16'' steel wheel online and had local tyre company put tyre on it. (205/60R16 if i remember correctly) fit's very nicely in the wheel well in the boot. cost £130 all together...I've also got 18'' wheels fitted to the car..

Just a little update. Bought one of the steel wheels that Carlston put me onto (links above).. Was a little unsure about what size tyre to put on after reading that space is a bit limited in the wheel well, But went with a 205/60R16 tyre and it fits perfectly. Thanks to everyone who helped me out..
  22. Hi, Connected phone to the car via wifi hotspot, Didn't seem to do much. So what's the benefit of using my phone as a hotspot with the car? Can i get traffic info etc or does that just come when you throw cash at Skoda for the connect system (Roughly £40) ?.. Doesn't seem to do anything when connecting the phone up except for phone calls, Streaming music, Android auto (plugged in with cable)..

    Thank you

No, not one of those. I thought the same, Having to stick to 50mph especially if on a motorway, Not ideal, That's why i didn't go for a space saver either..

    Obviously......
