  1. I've got a couple of my moody vrs if you want to use them!
  2. Unfortunately I don't have maxidot. Which is a bit of a shame really as it makes my big, white, intimidating, fast vRS feel a bit of a poverty spec model. Nonetheless, it does the job. Cheers men.
  3. Yeah I thought the same. They dim quite a lot actually. I'm not sure why they didn't just remove the sidelight function and go straight to dipped. Also whilst I'm on the subject, why no bong when you leave the lights on when parking up in the evening? Bloody annoying when you realise the next morning you're driving around with lights on.
  4. Right, am I being a bellend here? When operating my right wing mirror the left one moves also? What I mean about that is that when I move it left, it moves left with the right mirror and visa versa. Left one moves independantly, so no problems there. Now I'd like to say this is some German witchcraft to enlighten my driving experience, however, I'm pretty sure this isn't normal? vRS by the way.
  5. 25 Bought mine as I'm going to be a Dad and need larger boot and 5 doors. Didn't want to compromise, so bought the vRS If I'm honest, the Octavia in standard guise is absolute grandad material. The vRS trim definitely drops the age bracket.
  6. I don't believe the additive doesn't work. It's pretty simple really. Additive lowers combustion temperature of fuel and increases lubrication. These add to the burning off of built up 'soot' on the DPF. If I were doing short trips I would buy one in a heartbeat. Wynns is supposed to be good.
  7. You won't notice anything mate. I'm sure it has its benefits! Especially on a diesel.
  8. It will. But injectors do get dirty and a squirt of the detergent in the Redex will clean them.
  9. To be quite honest, I think the vRS handles very well for a large car. I have the estate and have only come unstuck once because of a greasy road. You're never going to get the focus ST handling. The car was never designed to be as 'hard' as the focus. It may wallow in corners, but If you're going to mess around with aftermarket, then coil overs or nothing. Maybe have a look at what tyres you're running on too. rARB does look interesting though. I think that's one of the few modifications I would make.
  10. Well you won't need a few bottles. I think 1 treats 2 or so tanks of petrol/derv, so should be sparking clean by then. For £2, why not? Won't do any harm.
  11. Is the oil temp only on maxidot?
  12. I was in the same boat as you. Bought a diesel and then read that the DPF is prone to playing up. I do a 2, 100 mile trips a weekend and short trips in between so I'm just going to stick some in every couple of thousand or so to make 100% sure.
  13. To be fair, if you buy a good diesel for a lower price or equivalent to a petrol you can't go wrong. 10mpg doesn't sound much but it soon adds up, not to mention the cheaper tax etc. The diesel also will retain 40~mpg when blasting round town and the back roads. Any petrol owner is lying if they believe they get much more than 25-30 on a blast. As for motorway runs, petrol cars have always been ~10 mpg of a diesel. I'm used to 30-35 out of my old petrol so 50+ is a revelation.
  14. Nah. Turns a very smart grown up mans car into a very cheap looking boys car.
  15. That looks awful with the eyebrows and lack of badge.
  16. Well mine indicates 225 miles to just shy of half of a tank. It depends on how you drive. If I rag about then it returns about 40-45. On a run it averages around 50.
  17. I have to agree with a lot of people here. The 8 speakers in my VRS are pretty amazing for a standard setup. Feels very bass heavy, mids and highs are also fantastic. Maybe the older VRS or non VRS are a bit pants?
  18. I would go absolutely ballistic if they tried the above on with me. I'm not into overcharging, nor am I ok with over servicing a vehicle. Safety parts? yes, if out of tolerances. A bottle of screen wash? Absolutely not.
  19. Cheers guys. I really don't want to touch it! Absolutely love it the way it is! Ill take some interior shots but its got the black alcantara seats with the red stitching.
  20. Right gonna have a little look tomorrow. See of its not just me being a biff and spilling it myself!
  21. Hmmm I don't think so its a brand new car. I'm thinking its leaking into the actual filler flap compartment (for a better explanation) and then dripping after I drive away.
  22. Hi guys, just thought I'd say hi! Just bought an octavia VRS estate in white with black wheels ready for when my little lady is born in November. Name is Ben ;-)
  23. Hi guys, has anyone had a problem with this? I've owned a diesel before and never remember any problems. When I filled up last week, everything was fine until I got home and realised there was a diesel streak down the side of the car from the filler. Filled up again today and the diesel streaked down the paintwork the moment I started filling up. I suppose the question is, how do you prevent this? The cap is on tight after filling up and the pump is fully in during filling up etc etc. Can't say I've ever seen this happen with a petrol pump in 7 years of filling up. Octavia VRS if it makes any difference. Cheers!
