You're slipping Chris. No 1 check should be tyres. Only thing keeping you on the black stuff, well that n cake.
Looking forward to seeing n hearing the minus 1 and minus 2 cylinder bikes.
Oli, sounds like the steed is a proper tool. Get that new rear tyre scrubbed in.

So here she is back home to join the TEX. As usual it rained for the journey but thankfully not as much as when Oli fetched his AND I only had 15 miles to do. So she will need a bit of a clean up and a good look at so I can see what is what and then PLAYTIME!
Looking good Chris ! Just need to get it cleaned now !!!

Err hang on I thought you had something to do with the project! Did you design the exhaust?
Fortunately I didn't have anything to do with side mounted rocket launcher....

Its all in the films Chris !!!!
But when the chippie or pub is about to close at least I can run to get last orders !!

Great news on the bike Oli.
Dont be a Jessie, get the waterproofs on and get riding.
So whens the meet then ?.....

Blimey what's happened to this thread ? Leather chaps with Freddie bits on display.
I think all trumpf riders should be banished to the blue oyster bar immediately.
I feel sick.

I had a full arrow system on my 1050 speed t. It sounded so so nice. As you say you just have to make it sing.

That's why I dont use sports tyres. Its a catch 22. You need heat in them to generate grip in the cold and rain but you need grip to generate heat.
Sports touring much much better for all year use.
I've got sports tyres on the xr and you have to really work hard to get grip in the greasy stuff.

Agh indeed Chris, as long as you're not wearing leather chaps and sporting a Freddie tash whilst you're chomping on a creamy horn.

I don't know what it is. I know it's very wrong but I still want to do it, for Christ's sake I'm still in my forties.
For a lot less money and leather you could always opt for a councillor . ...Just a thought.
Have you asked the mods to open up a new section specifically to cater for this addiction ?
Worrying. I'm am rapidly heading to the end of the forties and so far have not suffered from any such pervertedness.

Now the bike is fixed I took it for a spin yesterday. Bike felt great, maybe a little too much preload after losing some weight but other than that it was a joy, flicking left to right on a mere thought, front wheel wanting to reach for the sky. It was a complete giggle.
Unfortunately whilst I was out, I called in at a bike shop and was taken by a Triumph Rocket 3! I've never been into the cruiser scene so what is wrong with me? What could create such evil thoughts to go through my mind? Will I end buying chrome polish and leather chaps?
Omg have you had a bang to the head ? A rocket 3 ?! Really ?!!!
You need to grow a Freddie mercury tash and hang out at the blue oyster bar in your leather chaps...
Scary.

Not a clue mate, I was so busy watching the trees, rocks and mud.
There was nearly one of those today, lost my traction control and had a moment at a very steep muddy lane - nearly ended in tears !!!

Tiger 1050 is a very underrated bike, handles very well and the engine is a peach. Nice.

Well not bike related but took the discovery up to the peak district for some proper off road ing today. What a laugh.
Car is scratched to pieces and we were pretty well shaken but the car did well. A few cheek clenching moments on some steep muddy sections.
Car is now disgusting.

This weekend I won't be riding the bike but instead stripping out the rectifier and replacing with a mosfet rectifier along with improving the wiring on the charging system. What could possibly go wrong
Oooh god....red to red, yellow to yellow....

I've clocked up just over the 600 now so booked in next week, then I guess it'll be a case of slowly working up to full throttle/revs over the next 400 miles or so as it only says to keep below 5k for the 1st 600 miles in my owners handbook
I managed to whack on the remaining miles this week, first service tomorrow. Be good to get that out of the way.
I dont keep the revs too low, I keep the gearbox moving with lots of changes, reasonable amount of throttle but no labouring or too many full throttle high hear accels. If you take it too steady you run the tea risk of the engine becoming an oil burner.

Every day mate !!! Really getting into the wide bars, comfy suspension when you want it, ridiculous acceleration. A great package.
