  1. I have an Octavia Estate, I think it will be full to the gunnels when we go on holiday (5yr Old, Wife and Dog) we probably (almost certainly) pack too much stuff - Having previously looked at a Superb its massive and other have stated probably more suitable for the five of you. However if the budget would stretch the Kodiaq is worth looking at - I had a play in one in the Showrooms and there is a huge amount of space. That said if you use all three rows of seats then the boot is quite small - so a roof box maybe in order. That said if you are set on an Octavia then it would make a lot of sense to go for the Estate (its fab!!)
  2. Which new lights do you mean - mine has the Xenons??
  3. Thanks, its a Marmite colour (not literally) however I absolutely love it - its good to be different!!!
  4. Picked her up yesterday, bit of a change from the Roomster that I part ex'ed her for!!! Wasn't really going to get a vRS, however as soon as I saw it I just knew I had to have it!! First impressions are amazing, I thought it might be a bit harsh on the 19 inch alloys, but it really isn't, lovely and smooth, powerful and a pleasure to drive. Even the wife was impressed!! Been lurking on the forums for a while and it really helped choose the right car for me, hopefully will be able to help contribute as I fumble my may around the various functions.
  5. Yes its a lot different (our other car is a Mini) will be sad to see the Roomster go as its been a wonderful little car, trips abroad etc and it did it all with no fuss at all - but I wanted something a little more exciting, it had to be a Skoda and that left me with only one choice really - just spent Months trying to find the right one - hopefully I have found it. The Briskoda forums have been invaluable and really helped me, so am looking forward to contributing if I can!
  6. More pics when I actually pick it up!!
  7. So we have been a very happy Skoda Roomster owner for the past three years, but it was time for a change - End of PCP etc. Yesterday I signed across the dotted line for a Nearly New Octavia TDi VRS estate in Meteor Grey with the black styling pack, its an Ex Skoda UK car and has hardly any miles on it. To say its different from the Roomster is somewhat of an understatement, as soon as I test drove it I knew I had to have it - it looks amazing and drives just brilliantly!! We knew we had to get another Skoda and have been trawling Autotrader for weeks, our minds were focused by the used car deal in April, luckily the VRS popped up in the search on Friday, so Saturday I drove it and bought it!! I will post pics when I get it on Thursday
  8. Ah OK that makes sense - well its probably a bit quicker than trying to upload 16GB to the unit !! Many thanks for you help, I will see if I can "source" an update DVD.
  9. Hello All I wondered if you could help, I have a 59 plate Octavia with the Columbus unit, unfortunately it seems the version of the maps is the one that it was came with in 2009. So I went on the Skoda website and was over the moon when I saw I could update it for free, so spent many hours downloading it as it is over 16GB in size and then put it on a 32GB SD card........... I then read the manual and saw that the unit will only accept up to 2GB SD card!!!!! So my question is how in the hell can I update my unit to the latest version (which perversely allows the unit to accept bigger cards) if it wont let me put anything in bigger then 2GB??!! Any help would be appreciated. Many Thanks
