  1. Got it back from the Dealers and they have done it, perfect silence (apart from the tyre roar and wind noise) so it was the knee air bag, luckily they identified it before ripping the dash to pieces! They even gave it a health check and topped up the fluids too, so very happy bunny now!!!
  2. It was in all modes, when the cabin was warm and only under acceleration - but it was pretty constant and really annoying!
  3. So I have not got it back yet, but they have diagnosed it as the knee airbag rattling against the housing, another one is on order and should be fitted tomorrow. The Skoda technician has been really good, talked me through exactly what he did, what he took apart, took it for lots of test drives etc. It was fairly obvious that it was coming from the dashboard area - but not so obvious as to exactly where from and he made it quite clear he wouldn't give up until he found it! I pick it up tomorrow PM so will hopefully have a rattle free drive home!!!
  4. Hi, went in today to take the car to pieces to locate the buzz - should get it back Wednesday so will let you know - in the meantime nipping around in a VW UP!!!
  5. That does seem odd, had my first service a few weeks ago the front were down to about 3mm as expected but the rears still had 6mm on them - this is after 20K miles. It would seem that mechanically something is amis if your rears are wearing down first especially the amount they have after 9K - unless you have a 4 wheel drive - even though it seems excessive.
  6. Ah that all makes sense - I will reset when I am out, thanks all!!
  7. So last week I replaced my front tyres, then swapped the fronts and rears around. Today (a week later) whilst going down a slip road on to the motorway the TPS warning came up, when I was able to I checked the car status on the infotainment and it showed all four tyres as Orange or I am assuming as all with something amis. I though it was probably throwing a fit so didnt panic and when I got home I looked a all the wheels and they looked fine. I will obviously check the tyre pressures tomorrow (too dark when I got home) however short of some one vandalising all my tyres at work, which would really not happen I am assuming that the system threw a fit after the new tyres last week and at the time I should of reset the TPS or could it be something more serious?? What do people think? Thanks in advance!
  8. I got 18K out of my front P Zeros (from new) the rears have about 6mm left, swapped the fronts for Michelin 4s, then put the swapped fronts and rears so when the fronts wear out they will be replaced for Michelins too - probably in about 6 months time. Only the Michelins for a couple of days so wearing them in however it does seem more stable in the wet.
  9. Thank you all thats a relief, I will check if my local garage (just round the corner) will match the BlackCircles price just in case. Thanks Again!
  10. Hi All Further to my previous post about swapping tyres I am going to take the plunge and get new ones. I know which ones I am going to get and they are cheapest on Blackcircles.com - however the online reviews of Blackcircles are absolutely appalling. I know that online reviews are subjective and most people only write them when they are either really disappointed or really happy, so does anyone have experience of this company either positive or negative? Many Thanks in advance!!!!
  11. Mine has this buzz - its been in once took the binnacle off the steering wheel surround off etc but the technician couldn't trace it, it goes back in a couple of weeks - they are going to take the dash off, its so annoying I am willing to take the risk as I just don't think it will get better - probably worse as in your case. I will let you know if they fix it.
  12. The dash somewhere its in the car by the binnacle, the mechanic took the bits of the dash that he could in the time he had, removed the binnacle and couldn't trace it, its going back in a couple of weeks to remove the dash!! So hopefully he can trace it - its amazingly annoying. The tyres are P4S rather than Plural.
  13. Thanks All, I think I will go with the swapping the worn ones for michelins. The rim protection is what appeals to me with the PS4's (as well as the handling) as in my first few months of ownership I managed to scuff my pristine Xtremes so hopefully it would offer at least some protection next time!! I was a bit surprised that they had worn down so much in 20K, however equally surprised that my brakes had only worn down 10% on the fronts and 5% on the rears - so swings and roundabouts I suppose!!!!!
  14. So I had my car serviced this week and the front tyres are down to 3mm and the rears are at 6mm. Its got to go back to hunt for an annoying rattle in a few weeks, my first thoughts are to swap the fronts and rears over when its in however........... I am not entirely keen on my P Zeros so I thought I could swap the fronts for Michelin Pilot Sport 4s and then when the rears are low enough change them for the michelins, my fear is though having two different tyres on the rears and fronts (I don't really want to swap all four as its too costly What are peoples thoughts? Could different tyres cause a problem? Thanks All !
  15. Mine is the same as yours, I am assuming as we didn't buy a spare wheel kit, Skoda decided that we didnt need/want the jack etc. I suppose there is no point having the jack if you don't have a replacement wheel. On the plus side the empty compartment was perfect when I was on holiday in France to store bottles of wine to bring home - so every cloud and all that!!
  16. Yeah its "Normal" at least for Skodas, there are a few threads about it - I think its called Wheel Hop. First time my did I nearly soiled myself as I thought the front axel had taken off on its own - seems to be worse in the rain. I have learnt to be more gentle on the go pedal!
  17. Are you sure, I had to go through the manual when I took mine on the ferry, my manual says the double press deactivates the safe lock but to deactivate the motion sensor you need to press the button by the door. Is this a new feature on the FL models?
  18. There should be a button by the door underneath the seat belt, you press it and then lock the doors within 30 secs, it deactivates the interior alarm and motion sensor. I think the double press deactivates the deadlocks?
  19. It was my insurers - Admiral - they were the only persons I notified - I have a list as long as your arm of blocked calls on my phone from these companies, problem is they just keep changing their number! Just got my Courtesy car - Its a bloody Vauxhall Mokka X - I hate it and want my baby back!!!!!
  20. I had a bump three years ago, told my insurers but didn't end up claiming as the damage was so slight that a good buffing got it all out. I get two to three calls a week telling me about this mythical pot of money that has been set aside for me. One company tried to get me to claim for injury, when I said I wasn't interested as I was fine and no-one was injured, she put me onto her manager who insisted that anything more than a 5mph impact is bound to cause injury and could see why I didn't want to claim for it!!! I am normally very polite but at this stage I told her to do one and that she was the reason why premiums are so extortionate these days.
  21. Thank All Goes to the Garage tomorrow, so fingers crossed, I am sure it will be fine - apparently my hire car is an Octavia too so at least will be on familiar territory!! Better be a Primer Coloured One!!
  22. Just had another look, the number has a massive split in the top, which is gaping wide open - probably means nothing more - but made me wince!!
  23. I am pretty sure that there is no chassis damage - but its my pride and joy and don't want any serious issues from a silly little bump!
  24. I agree, I find my VRs super smooth and quiet - however my previous car was a Mini Cooper and the suspension is bone shaking to say the least - still my wife has that car now and she has the music turned up so doesn't really bother her
  25. Thanks Mate Yeah no injuries, lad only passed his test 8 weeks ago - but it was all polite and no drama - what annoyed me was the car that let him out behind me didn't bother to stop so she could come forward as a witness (hopefully shouldn't be needed but even so) Thats a good point, perhaps they will try to respray the whole car thinking all the paint fell off in the accident!!
