  1. Hi, I'm looking at getting a local garage to fit my ecs stage 1 vr6/smf kit. Does anyone know roughly the expected time/labour cost so I don't get my pants pulled down. Cheers, Kev.
  2. Hi folks, I've been on here for a while now and its about time I started a project/build thread. I bought this car in November 2013 for a measly £1000, with a full years mot and 87k on the clock. It had a few issues needing sorted which I have been gradually working my way through but nothing major unlike the golfs and a3s around the same money I had seen before I made the right choice. First up was to find the source of the water ingress as the whole passenger side was full of water (nicknamed rms titanic hereafter). This was due to a combination of nearly all the common places to check, rear door drains blocked with glass after a window replacement in the past, rear door membrane looked like it had been refitted by Edward scissorhands, passenger side scuttle panel water drain guide on underside of panel had broken off and been bodged back on by previous owner with tigerseal/mastick in the wrong place, actually diverting water straight into the pollen filter and the scuttle and both front arch liners full off composted crud. After a good hoover out with a wet vac, and all the above fixed it's been dry since. Here's a list of all the things done/replaced so far:- New passenger scuttle panel. Pollen filter. Rear door membrane. Oil changes with quantum longlife 5w30. Genuine skoda oil filters and sump plug. Genuine skoda dipstick and guide. ngk pfr6q spark plugs. Genuine coolant temp sensor. Throttle body cleaned. Breather hoses all replaced with creation motorsport silicone hoses. Genuine pcv valve and crankcase elbow. Ramair induction kit. Rear calliper replaced with genuine. Rear brembo discs and pads. Hankook v12 evo2's all round 205/50/17. 2.5 inch piper turbo back system including sport cat. Pioneer double din stereo. Parts bought but still to fit:- Ecs clutch kit with lightweight flywheel. Bam inlet manifold. Bam fuel injector rail. K04 charge pipe with custom elbow to fit k03s turbo. Bam map sensor and pipe. Genuine thermostat,o ring, housing and new coolant. Parts still to buy, still to do:- Fmic and pipework. Bam charge pipe brackets. Sfs turbo intake pipe. Front and rear anti roll bars. Full superpro bush kit including dog bone etc. Shocks and springs (still undecided which to choose). Quick shifter and bushes. Shark stage 2 remap (at brotech). Wavetrac lsd. Front discs and pads. Fix paint and rust issues asap!!! I've probably missed/forgot a few things so I'll keep editing/updating this as I go. http://rs1086.pbsrc.com/albums/j447/e30kev1/Mobile%20Uploads/IMAG0170_zps6hqir8b6.jpg~320x480 http://rs1086.pbsrc.com/albums/j447/e30kev1/Mobile%20Uploads/IMAG0172_zpse98eks87.jpg~320x480 http://rs1086.pbsrc.com/albums/j447/e30kev1/Mobile%20Uploads/IMAG0173_zpsvsdbbseo.jpg~320x480 http://rs1086.pbsrc.com/albums/j447/e30kev1/Mobile%20Uploads/IMAG0177_zpsprybtvxp.jpg~320x480 Thanks for looking, Kev.
  3. Hi, I've replaced my full original exhaust system with a stainless steel piper one. Does anyone know what I might expect to get back from the scrappy for it? It's all genuine skoda, removed from my vrs. Cheers, Kev.
  4. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/351358-how-to-custom-fmic-welly-install/?view=getnewpost Have a read ^^^
  5. I thought that, do you stock/sell piper exhausts?
  6. The Millteks were more expensive the last time I looked
  7. Yes they do but it comes to £925, I might send them an email and see if they can price match the cheaper sites. Rob, the videos you posted up are the reason I have decided to get the piper, awesome sound, cheers mate
  8. Hi, my original exhaust snapped recently and I'm replacing the whole thing from turbo back. I've chosen the piper system with sport cat which comes in at around £810 delivered from larkspeed and demon tweeks. Is there a recommended supplier of this exhaust, my car is out of action until it arrives so I don't want to be waiting forever on it and some of the reviews for the two mentioned above are a little off putting. Any advice appreciated, cheers, Kev.
  9. Doh, I'll just climb back under the rock I came from, sorry to the op for the misleading cack I posted above, it's the red oil light I was referring to
  10. You won't see symptoms till expensive damage is done due to oil starvation, I wouldn't be driving it till the problem is found mate, could be oil pump too
  11. £810 is down pipe/sport cat/cat back, full system by piper
  12. That's a nightmare also mate, hope all is ok. It will be worth the hassle when it's finished, it's just typical that it's everything at once, I was in the middle of sourcing all the necessary parts for my fmic with bam inlet setup when this happened :( typical, anyway I'm going all in now
  13. It's an expensive month for me:- 4 new tyres (hankook ventus v12 evo2) to replace the gash nexens fitted by previous owner. £264 delivered, £48 fitting. Ordered ecs stage1 clutch with lightweight flywheel from Awesome (not arrived yet) to replace my slipping dual mass pile of junk. £340 delivered, fitting unknown. My exhaust snapped at the backbox and has forced my hand to replace the whole system due to stage2 plans. £810 delivered, fitting unknown. There is more to do, this is just the must do, skint :(
  14. I've got the same ramair kit with standard dv, sounds awesome
  15. No probs mate, I'll be upgrading mine in the not too distant future also, I'm still unsure which option I'll pick though
  16. Or koni fsds from awesome gti at £486
  17. B6s from dpm £545 delivered, b8s £560. Check the forum sponsors section
  18. Top work Mark, really good write up mate, thanks again for taking the time to share your knowledge  Now I just need to track down all these parts.
  19. Hi Mark, thanks for taking the time to respond and the information you have provided is first class, total legend. I'm seriously thinking about the bam route now. PM sent regarding spare charge pipe etc.
  20. Hi Mark, that install and your whole engine bay is truly epic, a real credit to the hard work you've put in, I seriously doubt mine will ever look as good as that. How much extra cost/hassle would be involved doing it your way over the other route? Essentially I just need it all to work. I've got a lot to pay for to get the car stage 2, I'm just starting actually, so I'm going to have to do it all bit by bit as and when I can afford it, vr6/g60 clutch with lightweight flywheel is first up as my clutch is slipping.
  21. I found this list too which seems to be the common way to do this:- Throttle Body side 1x 76-63mm 90 degree reducer in silicon 1x 63mm 90 degree silicon bends 1x 63mm 90 degree alloy bend 1x 63mm straight 100mm alloy coupler. hot side 1x 76-63mm 90 degree reducer in silicon 1x 63mm 90 degree silicon bends 2x 63mm 90 degree alloy bend 1x 63mm x 300mm straight alloy pipe 1x 63mm 45 degree alloy bend 1x 63mm 45 degree silicon bend 1x 51-63mm straight silicon reducer to go onto the turbo outlet. 1x 63mm straight silicon coupler. Now I understand the 100mm alloy coupler on the throttle body side needs to be the forge map sensor piece but what do I need to do up top with the dv and n75? Is there a kit available with a pipe section made for this or do I have to get one custom made? Sorry for the apprentice like questions, this is my first turbo car and I'm learning all the time.
  22. Hi folks, I've been doing lots of searching for intercoolers and I'm just looking for a little reassurance that I'm not buying a pile of cack. The toyosports seems popular, is this one that I've hopefully linked properly any good and should I buy it with the pipes/fittings or get them elsewhere? http://www.toyosports.co.uk/3-universal-intercooler-type-b-600x300x76mm-piping-kit-1248-p.asp Thanks
  23. Had loads on lately but I finally had a chance to fit some of the big pile of bits to my car. last month I fitted my ramair induction kit with heat shield, epic noise Today's list:- Oil change, 5w30 quantum long life 3. Oil filter and sump plug (genuine skoda). Dipstick and guide tube (genuine skoda). Ngk pfr6q spark plugs. Ns scuttle panel and pollen filter (genuine skoda). Breather hoses, silicone (creation motorsport). Plastic breather elbow, o'ring, retaining clip and non return valve (genuine skoda). Sorry I didn't take pics, I was pushed for time. I think I'll start a project/build thread as I've got plenty more to do, eventually stage 2. Next up is ECS vr6/g60 clutch and lightweight flywheel and fmic (welly cooler).
