  1. Where would changes to standard legalities stop? What other businesses should be contacting DVLA? Halfords for Better filters? Fuel cleaner/additive ? Blackcircles for Budget Tyres? Primark for Driving in grandad slippers? My oh my
  2. Currently driving (family transport) a 12 plate Alhambra SE LUX ecomotive.140 DSG . Had a number of seven seaters ( a few for work too)..last one was a Zafira... When looking to change... my main items were... seats suitable for kids or adults..... Good boot.... Nice drive and reasonable fuel economy. I highly recommend the Alhambra. Nice relaxed drive.does not feel to big bulky... Economical for its size ( stop start even with the auto box. ) Loads of toys.... Reverse camera a great benefit.Elecrtic doors and tailgate are very useful too. Auto Express give it lots of praise. And I think it is fantastic. Good boot space when all seats are in use... All seats full size ( not cramped) Good value too... And VAG family.
  3. 9 times out of 10... A puncture is driven on ( even just to a safe place to stop) to such an extent that the repair gunk has no hope of doing what it claims. Any tear...makes it useless. I've never seen a roadside repair with the gunk work ( and I see many). A spare wheel is a must... Even if YOU cant or don't want to change it....it's there for assist or recovery to do for you. An ideal use for your unused summer /winter wheel perhaps. ( and another tick reason to get spare winter wheels)
  4. Horses for courses as they say.. Could we explain to a non car person...the apeal of a car forum? Lol
  5. My understanding is, an illegal undertake is when you are in a lane, go left around a slower vehicle and pull back out into your original lane. If they are sat in the outside lane (3), and you are travelling in lane 2 or 1 it's not an illegal undertake if you stay in that lane and pass a slower vehicle. You do not need to leave your lane and pull into the same lane as them. Obviously aware the fool may move left .... But I won't sit behind with an empty lane to my left.
  6. Its amazing how much emergency service bashing a simple honest question can drag up. I suspect that if an opposite ( ie:not using siren) question was posed, we would still get the same negative haters with relevant stories...and...they are bad..untrained...dangerous comments. But..... At the end of the day, We do not know what info /circumstances are involved... Each incident often starts off with little info. I'm certain of one thing though. Our emergency services do a great job in very difficult times despite the Government and public. I personally thank them, and a siren to me means ( good) someone is getting help, or a bad person interrupted/ caught.
  7. I would turn the tables, friend Him, and spend many happy months tagging him with a wide variety of Satanic images, oh... Such fun..lol
  8. DSG , :-) I'm a fan.. Both My cars are auto.....All my last cars (last 8 years now and I've had a few lol). I drive auto at work..... With today's modern technology auto boxes are great. A test drive is ok, but it's still a novelty... It gets better when you are used to it. I would not want to go back to a manual nowadays, relaxed and effortless.... But with the option for a bit of sporty play if you want it.
  9. There are worse things on the internet than adult sex.( I've even seen a Renault forum!!! ) You could produce a list of unwanted/unlawful/antisocial/racist sites. Not everyone would agree on the lists...and it would be un enforceable a lot of the time. How about parents stepping up to the mark and taking some responsibility too...... Is your child old enough? Trusted enough to have uncontrolled access to the big bad world. Do they understand or have an awareness of some of the risks. ( Have you sat and talked to then about it)is the PC out of sight in their room, or downstairs were you can "share" their online experience... But also not overcrowd them. We see too much... it's someone else's responsibility....We are all responsible for those around us and you can not beat a good parental approach.
  10. If the overall diameter has changed.... It will be miscalculating distance/speed by a small %..therefore the figures could be out a little too.
  11. Working through :-( Got the day off Xmas eve, but back onto nights xmas day...... At least ill have dinner.. See the grandkids etc..:-)
  12. Cornering lights are a great feature, and Car Makers have ensured they meet lighting regulations. I have seen them a on many many cars, and all that's needed is a generic email/memo out to officers bringing this common system to their attention. Perhaps a polite email to the force in questions Community liaison officers would benefit all. If the PC is unaware of this feature... How many other lawfull matters is he unclear/wrong about. That should be a worry to his bosses too.
  13. It could be just the perfectly timed warning/ reminder that stops you ending up in a ditch. :-) Embrace this warning and relish its constant alertness :-)
  14. I agree, 1/2 inch drive and 17mm Socket. Needs to go up to 120nm. I bought one 3 days ago from B&Q. £27.99.... Cheapest in Halfords was£80.
  15. I've just gone graphite, happy with it on black.
  16. It's discusting, and borders on obscene. The police, fire, ambulance,NHS, schools and armed forces are getting Hit again and again. Struggling with massive cuts while trying to carry on providing a great service. They should give the EXTRA money they have found back to the worthy areas to ease the struggles. But... Unfortunately I'm not too suprised by them.
