  1. anyone near to Dundee have a vcds?
  2. Foxwell NT500 VAG Scanner Audi VW Engine Airbag ABS ALL Module Diagnostic Tool been looking at getting a scanner, anyone had/have or tried these and do you think there worth the money (about £110) and on that subject, my eml came on other day, car was and is running ok, only thing I did notice was when turned off and restarted the revs went to 2000 for a couple of seconds then settled back down, but the day after it seems fine.. any thoughts?
  3. I would be checking the battery fuse box.. I had a problem with mine heating up and melting the box and wires.. i could feel mine getting extremely hot within a few minutes of starting the car. so worth having a closer look
  4. noticed this on ebay only 30 miles away from me... must say looks very tidy http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181435982874?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  5. lol never easy is it, was the price of replacing the whole cable but that's the way it goes
  6. posted before about the alternator cable heating up and melting the plastic fuse box on battery, after a long run in the car I have now decided to replace it. what I was wondering is can I just replace the thick black wire on its own? i noticed its inside a sleeve along with other wires but is this just one thick wire from start to finish or does it branch off anywhere?
  7. lol after all the hassle and cost I don't think I ever sell them  ... and I don't mind cracking my own stuff open as it my own risk if it all goes pear shape as I would have only had to answer to the wife lol
  8. green and blue block are for the stereo and I think the twin wire with the black connector might be for the ash tray light but not 100% sure, and as for the other one no idea lol
  9. Tactical 87 posted this picture which shows which lights are which lol
  10. well just back from my mates garage and pleased to say that these are now UK road legal and pass mot standards
  11. I had them fitted, mine just had a small nick out the edge of the cover just enough for the wires to sit in, cant say I had a problem with them misting up
  12. Lol i was a bit worried about doing it, but after lots of research on youtube and the fact i have tackled stuff like this in the past i thought why not lol. Hardest part was getting them in the oven to heat the seal, but they opened up easier than i thought and went back together without too much fuss, i got a mate that does mots so he gonna stick it on the headlight tester and set them up, once he gives me the thumbs up i gonna take them off and reseal them......
  13. changing them is not for the light hearted lol, I heated them up in the oven to soften the seal round the glass and pulled it apart, the projector that's in it can be removed and I bought a universal projector for low beam uk from ebay and after a bit of trimming to the mount in the lights, these dropped right in.. as for the dim function this came from my old daytime running lights and I just wired the controller in lol
  14. decided just to go for it and I opened these up and changed the projectors so they have UK ones lol http://youtu.be/WziQA_VqrJE
  15. if I remember right you can find it on a sticker in the boot where the spare is kept
  16. I had kinda the same problem with the rear door, only managed to get it open by giving it a bang and pressing the open on the fob, I sprayed wd40 into the lock and over the inside of the lock inside the door, that was 18 months ago and never had the problem return..
  17. ok so I had a good look today, pulled one out and discovered that in this one if you take the bulb out and look into it you can see the kicker plate, and there is pretty not much anything you can do to move it, and even when you get inside the kicker plate cant be turned round due to it having a curved shape.. so I no intention of just giving up lol, I going to get hold of a replacement headlight to replace the broken one and stick the old ones back in... I plan to retro fit these headlights and will take step by step pics when I do, 200 quid for lights that wont pass an mot! I think not llf
  18. yea I found that out, but I am a firm believer in google and been looking into how to change the kick up, gonna have a closer look tomorrow and will let you know lol
