Steering noise
Probably thermodynamics, I'd look at some touching plastics around the back of the steering wheel, this was quite common on Audi's 20 years ago Dripping moulten candle wax in the affect area tends to work best as it, doesn't smell or dry out

Parcel shelf.
As John said the grippers work pretty good but, they've gotta be fully in however, even if fully gripped they give up at speed with all the windows down. Whilst doing this this does vacuum the car at the same time as getting a lot of the residual heat outta the internal plastics ect. I had this happen & know what speed you were doing πππ FYI, wear close fitting sunglasses if its been a long time since you've hoovered the car, depending on wind direction grit starts flying around at 130π³π³π³

DSG revs not dropping when stopped
twas 34 degC, what do you thinkπππ But yeah, thats A/C running has caused that, if it ticks over at 1,200 you've accidentally knocked the DSG into sport

Octavia VRS 245
That's the original or as some call it the "limited edition" 245 manufacture year 18. Plenty of VCDS upgrades you can do on the car, it does ride better 19" just gets a bit wallowy on 18", swore I wouldn't run the 19's but, drove from collection back home, changed it to 18's & took them back off after 5 miles. Although, mine has DCC might feel different on standard suspension

Meon Hut Meet #86 7pm on the 25/08/2020
The West Meon Hut meet #86 Tuesday 25th of August 7pm onwards but, some do rock up early. I know it should be a week later but, we're eating out to help out & as Tuesday 1st September is day after the Bank Holiday I don't see a great turn out. The place does a range of cheap'n'cheerful food & drinks, its not a dive but, don't expect a classy joint either what is does have is some quick, interesting sections of road & a large carpark. All Skoda & Non-Skoda drivers welcome, partners & children welcome although, being a Car Club it may not be very interesting for them. I'll keep tagging previous attendees to ensure everyone is as well informed as can be although, please pm me to be removed from the list should it become a PITA http://www.westmeonpub.co.uk/ https://www.google.c...82abeebd26a1535 @timyates1989, @Xavier, @Newport91, @JerryT, @shanemeh, @andy68, @64033, @Leeboy, @dsj20v, @skodanorman, @jonbmx900, @mattsv, @JoseDB, @jcarr162000, @ZubSub, @K155BMR, @zouche, @Chris6663, @Toxicvrs, @LiamONeill, @mycoolbeard, @J45ON, @gary80, @Famous_Afro_Jay, @Bowders1, @TeflonTom, @peterhaskew, @carrera85, @146matty, @JackClap, @vrsjub, @pierst1, @fex, @solite, @jjc, @fatwomble, @kennyd32, @High4, @Mike18Clark, @Gambo, @Evans octy no:67/100, @Dave And Lolli, @Horsee, @andras.orban, @octyjosh, @lemonvrs, @Leee, @Carl Monte, @PompeyKev, @pikachu24, @V8 Dave, @Lee01, @Hyphons, @stuartvrs, @Yoss, @tamiyaandy, @hardcorehobbit, @andsoutham, @Tomote, @mk4gtiturbo, @Mustafa, @austenw90, @sigarland1987, @BJB540, @Thorpe76, @VladSoilerOfCarpets, @bullawayo, @Octy 4x4t, @Lingnoi, @Lkim13, @AndrewE, @bspman, @Chelseacraig, @jars, @flashman, @Cydermonkey, @AJ7788, @gjgrst, @JGrindel, @MissPiggy, @Hedge, @jronnquist, @CHRIS ELLIS, @Updown789, @stubunce, @@lexc, @mase101, @Chris245, @Robsskoda, @Max M4X WW, @MHargr

Centre caps
The SuperSkoda monte carlo center caps have been on my car for 34 months, washed by the cheapest Polish car wash in the country. They look fine

Anyone have recent experience of EBC discs/pads?
@smalls Heres a photo of my Turbo Grooved with Yellowstuff pads, I'm very tough on brakes so, these have been replaced now. They were a good upgrade in terms of stopping power but, they are dusty, might be better just running Redstuff as they are a low dust compound

Which driving mode do you use?
There's the answer, the hesitation in accelerating & rev matching coming out of coasting all cured, you need to play with the settings to find the ONE for you but, they are like Night & Day

vRS TDi dual-mass flywheel issue(?)
Don't be provocative, investigation is always charged upfront & reimbursed with the warranty work invoice, its been like that for 20 odd years & still some don't get it.

Looking to buy a VRS Petrol
My 245 was the 1st customer order on the road in late August 2017, as value seems to be your main motivator, waiting WON'T put you in a worse position & will more likely than not put you in a better position.

Looking to buy a VRS Petrol
OK my take things thrown up here 1. The fl led headlights are by far, a lot better than the pfl xenons 2. Unless you're gonna drive on the edge of the cars limits you never know you needed the VAQ Diff 3. The electric seats have much finer lumbar adjustments than the manual seats 4. Both the 17/67 plate 245 & the 230 don't have a GPF 5. Using finance deals to your advantage is only smart if you're comfortable with them. 6. Some of the fl230 wing mirrors don't fold on locking (cancelled my order over that) 7. You're gonna have to travel if you want to get a car In short, if you wait till September more 245's will be on the market, hopefully reducing the value of the 230's. Reading between the lines, value seems to be of more importance to you so this maybe the best bit of advice you've had

Absolute quietest tyres for 18inch wheels?

Upgrades
Hmmm, I got my ole 1.4tsi Elegance to 203bhp & 310Nm with a remap, cold air intake system & de-res. Then you need to start sorting the handling especially the rear end which is vague to be polite.
