My MY245VRS ran 258bhp on Ron99 with no other mods, never ran it on 95 Ron & I mean ever

Tesco's momentum is the best widely available fuel for the best performance from any petrol engine & at only 5ppl more, it's worth it. Vpower has cleaning additives & therefore, runs at approx 1% less power, its also Fn expensive 😭😭😭

Hi Tom you've got a relatively small turbo on the 1.4tsi which does its hard work before 4k revs therefore, look for a map that works best on the torque figure. If it was a choice of APR vs REVO I'd take revo every time, APR push the power hard & early EA888 engines did pop a few turbos. Being a less popular engine, I'm not sure how many remaps they've sold for the 1.4tsi & therefore, how much development has gone into the remap. The DQ200 DSG torque limiter only limits in 1st & 2nd gear so, go for the torque map, the redline ain't the place to be running the 1.4. Only other thing you'll need is to upgrade the rear anti roll bar, more power will bring faster cornering & the rear torture beam suspension on your car WON'T inspire confidence. Kinda, there's a 250Nm torque limiter on 1st & 2nd gear but, 3rd throu to 7th is unlimited, my DTUK box got me to 323Nm

Problem you've got is the vRS245 in that age range is the MY18 vRS245 limited edition basically, the current challenge model without the button start (not a bad thing IMHO) IIRC, the list price was about 3k more than the fl230 hence, you could have problems with your budget. It's the pick of the crop though & if you're into tuning your cars, this particular car was the last WITHOUT a GPF. TBH if I was you, I'd stretch the budget & go get what you really want otherwise, you'll never really be happy. Go look at the 1 you mentioned, do it properly with an appointment & they'll be ready for a serious buyer & importantly know what the can do discount wise however, its your call. GLWP

Just buy the car you want, cost to change will probably be 1,500 but, its better to have a standard car than a modified one for both maintenance & resale value. IIRC, the L&K, vRS & Scout had irs & were all available it the 2.0 tdi

@ajw1100 I'm so sorry to hear of all your problems with your car as I remember how happy you were with it when you came to try the pedalbox. The diagnostic data they want is downloaded from the ecu, it tells them exactly what the engine has done for every single mile. It records all the car's sensors showing the inputs & outputs. What they are looking for, is evidence that you've modified the vehicle to improve its performance which they can use to DENY paying for the repairs themselves. Sound like the WHOLE turbo needs replacing this time. This is standard practice so don't be concerned. Although I understand the convenience of car ownership (especially in your Carer role) I'd question whether a Taxi account wouldn't be more COST efficient considering your mileage🤔🤫🤭🤗
