  1. Commute is country lanes, M40, A40, North Circular and N London A roads. All feel like they were last repaired by the Luftwaffe. Tried BMW & Audi but the ride day in day out would drive you nuts. With the Superb you just glide over it all so big thumbs up for the suspension & handling.
  2. 2.5. Makes driving so easy and effortless. As my first diesel I also like the refinement. Floor it and you can't stop yourself smiling.
  3. Not going to argue with any of this because the 1.9 or 2.5 one will rumble on. My point was that the car is better than Roto suggested ie "taxi duty only for the Superb". Whatever the engine the car is actually good and stands up well against rivals and warrants serious consideration if you want a large car. Workhorse into London or family car at weekends wouldn't swop it. ps 2.5 is smoother ..........................JOKE honest !!
  4. Just to balance out Roto. I have an 07 2.5 auto. Love it to bits and the 2.5 is a joy. Nearly a year on and I love every mile in it. MPG is fine for such a large car (you'll see this from other posts on the forum).
  5. Roy - Just one to check. Make sure dealer has given you the TMC Sat Nav CD. There are 2 types and sometimes they give you the cheaper one without TMC.
  6. These are UK dealers and UK warranty. The annoying thing is that the brokers get around
  7. We get the new car tomorrow yepppeeeeeeee we will keep you posted. Val is hoping they are a nice bunch of flowers too lol Envy you both as nice moment. Let us know how it goes and fingers crossed for the flowers!
  8. Not sure dealers (franchise and non franchise) see them as cheap. Check on Autotrader for SE England > 1 yr old auto Superb throws up prices like this which is
  9. The cars are great whatever the engine and you'll love it. Having tried Honda, VW, Toyota, Volvo nothing compares. Have fun
  10. Posed same question when I bought mine (Oct last year). See answers http://www.briskoda.net/forums/superb/what-go-1-9-2-5-a/55604/?highlight=wrenko 10 months on and never regretted going for 2.5 TIP. Lower MPG but benefits of increased refinement and power more than make up for it. If you are looking at new go via brokers (save you
  11. [ Neither brand new but probably ex-demo's or similar. Dealers charge the proverbial arm and a leg for low mileage demo Superbs. You might want to just check out broker prices for new as these are cheaper than dealer demo's. A 2.5 Elegance TIP was available for around
  12. Our new car search started with the Passat. Had 2 on extended test drives on SEL specs. Trim fell off both cars during their time with us (different dealers) and on the last one we were told to ignore the squeaking noise from the rear wheels. Having since read in motoring press I now wonder if the noise was the rear wheel bearing problems which seems to affect the cars. Both models were new demo's with less than 1000 miles on the clock. We also hated the low rent interior but that's another story.
  13. Guess that's the 4th. I don't own an IPOD or any MP3 player but have put my top 150 mp3s on Tesco blanks and that will do in the short term. I'll then wait to see if Kenwood officially market the phatbox in the UK. Given only cost
  14. I'm down to 3 MP3 options and wondered what people's views are. Option 1 is a package to replace the CD changer with a Sony or Alpine MP3 changer. Skoda MP3 Changer - ADD A CD Changer If anyone has tried this how did it go and which unit would they recommend?I'm thinking Sony. Option 2 is a Phatbox but can't find any info on a successful install into a UK Elegance spec Superb unless you know better! I've put some info on the ICE forum with little success. It does sound like a great package. Option 3 is the Denison 400 cable (covered in the forums). I do like the idea of something in the boot and an absolute must is keeping the steering wheel controls / display etc. As ever thoughts appreciated folks.
  15. Would appear it is possible. Tracked down a German Superb fan who posted review and pictures. Trouble is Google translation wasn't great but pictures work:
  16. A Phatbox looks attractive option via EBAY. The US Passat guide (link below) seems straight forward enough BUT question is has anyone successfully installed on a UK spec Superb Elegance. PJD obviously had problems and the US doesn't have the Symphony radio so will it be detected on set up - with DOT Matrix and display working etc.. http://www.phatnoise.com/vw/downloads/06-23-04%20Passat%20PhatNoise.pdf
  17. OK here's a tester. Lazy Sunday afternoon channel hopping. End up watching the cycling and find all the team pursuit cars are Skoda's with the main one being a nice red Superb. Question for anoraks is which model ? Check out ITV and ITV4. Lots of Furbs and Octys too.
  18. I get 33-36mpg for my TIP. London commute so heavy traffic. Still love smoothness and refinement so fine by me.
  19. Hope it's not like this. Looks like some sort of Korean mash up. Also pics and dealers all suggest going to be smaller than current model - if so what's the point?. I guess ideal woud be current model with the new engines! :thumbdwn:
  20. Definitely quieter and way smoother. MPG seems same with 4000 on the clock. Will stick with BP
  21. I agree the white dials/red maxi dot look great - but why did they leave all the other cabin lights green? Looks a bit odd to me. Green? got me thinking and just checked mine (f/lift) No green lights just blue in door handles, white instruments and red cat. Anyway glad you like car and agree with all comments. Been going 4 months now and enjoy every minute
  22. Brokers like Autoebid are offering L&K at
