  1. Hi My VRS should have had them, according to the sales brochure/price list, however they did not function from new. I have enabled them with my OBDeleven & you can tell quite a difference as they come on & off. To check if yours work, I suggest that you pull up to a building with a glass front (petrol station perhaps) & you should see them work as you turn into the parking place. Both of mine come on as you select reverse gear as well. Hope this helps
  2. I've just come out of a MY17 VRS with Canton, to a MY22 VRS without it, if you play about with the settings the standard system is not bad, certainly better than a MK3 with the standard system (my brother had one), I'm not saying it's as good as a MKIV with Canton, because I've not heard one, but it might not be as bad as you think? Only one way to know for sure, try to get a chance to listen to them back to back.
  3. I've got a petrol hatch in Hyper green and i'm happy I chose it. It gets quite a lot of attention, with most people really liking the colour. However if you wish to be a bit lower profile, it may not be the the best choice for you! As always, different colours, different options & different cars for different people, you pay your money & take the choice that makes you happy
  4. I've used this on my 22 VRS, with matrix LED headlamps & can confirm it works. Both fog lights also come on when you select reverse gear
  5. Ahh, I had a look to see if I could adjust its power setting, better look again, thanks for the help
  6. Thanks for all the replies, the reason I paid for the option was the expectation that it would clear my screen more quickly than the heater/fan combination (I work night shifts & the ability to get the screen clear/warm seats etc in the morning is very nice!) I too feel a little cheated as it does not appear to deliver that. By way of comparison, I spoke with my brother today who has a MK3 Octavia & a 68 plate VW transporter, both with the 'wire element' type of heated front screen, which deliver a faster screen clearing time. I was trying to get an idea of performance so I could speak about my disappointment to my dealer, armed with a little more knowledge/facts.
  7. Thanks for the reply, so yours clears it in a couple of minutes?
  8. Hi How do people find the heated front windscreen on the MkIV? I've got it, but to be honest I'am disappointed, I've been using it every day this week & it seems to be barely faster than using the fan, it takes over 5 minutes to clear the frost. Is this normal, or do others find it works faster in their cars? Thanks in advance
  9. A dealer once told me that if the car registration number starts with a K, then its Northampton or Luton registered, which are close to Milton Keynes and are almost certainly an ex VAG car. If you look at photos of road test cars, long termers etc, they often have the K prefix, I've even seen them on TV shows, probably loan cars/product placement. They also told me the same as Hawk89 says, keeping the cars for a few months then letting them into the dealer network, I bought 2 SEAT Exeos that had been used like this, smashing cars btw, one was KR prefix, the other was KU
  10. My OBD 11 is now has a list of App adjustments, power & torque display, mirror puddle lights etc. I've no means to verify that they work as I have a MK3.5 VRS245
  11. Désolé, mon erreur, le fahrprolil 3, c’est aussi le sport dans ma voiture, mais 1 me donne du rouge, heureux que cela ait fonctionné pour vous
  12. For my colours I used the following, Fahrprofil 0 (coming/leaving home)-2 (White) Fahrprofil 2(Normal)-7 (Dark Blue) Fahrprofil 4 (sport)-1 (Red) Fahrprofil 5 (Eco)-10 (Green) Fahrprofil 7 (Individual)-1 (Red) So when I open the car the LEDs are white, as soon as I turn on the ignition they switch over to whichever colour the driving mode is set in, I have to select which colour for which mode using OBDEleven, I cannot do this on the touchscreen. I can, of course, select manual and the colour stays as selected in all modes or switch to auto and then the colours change as detailed above. Not sure if there could be a further mod' to allow touchscreen colour linking, can the MY19 cars do this? Mind the colour list above in the original post, its for a Golf 7.5. Credits to the original contributors who posted this, I've just copied their good work.
  13. A nice touch on the ODBeleven is the history folder, every change you make is recorded & date/time stamped, so if you do get things wrong its quite easy to go back to were you started
  14. I think 30mph is the maximum they are supposed to work at, however we has lots of unlit, twisty back roads in the Dales & they do make quite a difference! I can't really see how they would bother anyone & I think it would take a very keen eye to spot that they were activating at too high a speed. I have done my N/S foglight, have you got yours working?
  15. Hi OBDEleven screenshots for you, works on my MY17 VRS245 I upped the speed threshold a little as well, good luck!
  16. Hi Also be aware that the lights work differently in the different driving modes, in 'Eco' the LED's do not seem to use as many parts of the matrix, they work the best in 'Sport' mode. I have set mine in the 'Individual' mode to perform like in 'Sport' mode, but without the noise & excessive engine revs of full 'Sport' mode. In IMHO, I rate the full LED headlights as about the best standard headlights I have ever seen.
  17. Hi Pleased it worked for you, I knew we get there in the end! I think the first set of screenshots are for a LHD car, because I got the foglight alarms after I used them, but I managed to work it out. Cheers
  18. Hi You are absolutely right! I should stop writing these things late at night! The screenshots have just been taken off my car, so I hope they will work for you. Good luck again!
  19. Hi OK here are the OBDEleven screenshots from what works on my RHD MY17 VRS245. I have also posted my notes from when I coded my car, it works on mine, good luck! Central Electrics-Adaptions Leuchte 2SL VLB10 Changed Lichtfunktion B2 from nicht active to ‘Abbiegelicht Rechts’ (same side as A2) Leuchte 3SL VRB21 Changed Lichtfunktion B3 from nicht active to ‘Abbiegelichct Rechts (same side as A3) Leuchte 4TFL LB4 Changed Lichtfunktion B4 from nicht active to ‘Abbiegelichct Links (same side as A4) Leuchte 5TFL RB32 Changed Lichtfunktion B5 from nicht active to ‘Abbiegelichct Links (same side as A5) ‘Static AFS Light’ Changed ‘Abdimmgeschwindgkeit from 0 to 50%/S Changed ‘Maximaltemperatur’ from 0 to 100 C Changed ‘Obere Grenztemperatur’ from 0 to 95 C Changed ‘Untere Grenztemperatur’ from 0 to 80 C Also changed ‘Obere Geschwindigkeitsschwelle’ from 40 KPH to 80 KPH (top speed at which cornering fogs work)
  20. Hi Is your car LHD or RHD? The screenshots are for a LHD (I think), I had to alter them a little for my RHD VRS If yours is RHD, I can send you the screenshots
  21. Hi I did it on my MY17 VRS 245, using OBDEleven PRO The link to the thread with the OBDEleven screenshots is here,
  22. Hi Thanks for this, I assume that this is the OBeleven Pro system you are using to do this?
  23. Hi Not too sure about doing this myself & I don't really want to invest in the kit to do mods, as I am only interested in enabling my cornering foglights. So, is there anyone in the Lancaster area who might be able to help me? Thanks
