  1. I have just taken my switch out but it appears the activating pin is still present. Now i am stumped as to why the interior lights do not come on when doors are opened...confused.com
  2. Have the same problem, tried swapping mechanisms today and struggled a lot (didnt take the bloody door handle off!!!). In the end it didnt work so will have to try changing the microswitch now. Just need to know which is the best one to use.
  3. Unbeleivable...i only just bought mine a month ago but seeing some of the projects on here, i feel like going into hiding...
  4. So what did you have on the bottom of your bumper before? Cupra style spoiler? Love how your car looks.
  5. I would like the vrs one on its own as my octy mk1 badges front and rear are around 80mm each.
  6. What model will this fit?
  7. Come in handy for me today when i was in Salford near the new BBC headquarters.
  8. Would this fit a Mk1 Octavia?
  9. Many thanks for this, will keep this in mind as my wiper motor has also packed up.
  10. How hard is it to take the tailgate cover off? Felt pretty tight to me when plying with fingers, obviously i would need to use a special tool to take it off but was worried it might break with too much pressure.
  11. Ok no worries, at the moment devonutopia is looking at one for me so if that doesn't come up trumps, I will pm you. Thanks for letting me know though.
  12. Do you still have the drivers door mechanism with the microswitch in? If you do, vmcan you remember the interior lights working correctly?
  13. Lol i feel for you. Send me a pm and i can sort itf or you if you like.
  14. Please put a picture up, fiestas are quite sought after now. Especially the mk1s.
  15. Lovely stuff. Unfortunately the bug has started for me as well!!!
  16. That one belongs to the Ford Museum.
  17. I could use the sierra system but I am thinking more along the lines of megajolt mappable ignition. I have a dizzy from a sierra but not the module for it, hence why I want to move away from the mechanical dizzy. The 2.8 tt is a different beast altogether. That would have some serious torque to go with it. My father also had a Tickford Capri for 10 years and that was quite an animal, especially when the boost from the turbo kicked in!
  18. Many thanks for this, it makes sense and look like I will have to purchase a good unit to replace it.
  19. Thanks, its quite a lively motor, should be faster than a standard 2.8 injection. Running a fast road cam, twin weber 40s, vernier adjustable pulley, over bored 205 block. Jut need to sort some electronic ignition out as it is currently running points and condenser system.
