  1. Anyone know if it's possible to download a 3rd party esim?
  2. @Paws4Thot Too many drivers indicate to show where they have come from & assume an indicator gives priority to barge in. Often accompanied by little or no observation. Same when entering a dual carriageway/motorway. They are unable to accelerate to enter just in front or pace themselves to slot in behind. Give way means just that, either at a junction or entering a motorway. Pointless indicating when there are no road users to benefit is often accompanied by a lack of observation.
  3. One should only use indicators to inform other road users in the immediate vicinity. It is pointless to do so if there are no vehicles/road users who will benefit from a signal. If the road is relatively empty with no close vehicles behind & one is changing lanes to overtake a slower vehicle in the mid distance then no indicator is required.
  4. The last time this came up it was a factory fitted sensor to check on water ingress during the monsoon test. And yes I have it too.
  5. My 2023 mk 4 has a speedometer that corresponds exactly with a separate GPS device (my phone).
  6. So why?.....personally, although kessy is convenient I wouldn't pay for it as an extra. Far easier to unlock/lock via fob.
  7. If you have a sunroof check the drain tubes that usually run down inside the A pillars. Years ago a new Citroën BX was delivered with the LH drain exiting onto the passenger footwear. Dealer had it back but couldn't solve the problem. I had it back & took out the trim to the L of the footwear & discovered the misplaced drain. Dealer obviously didn't investigate very far & refused to replace the soaked carpets.
  8. Just be thankful you don't have to replace the car as the ashtray is full....!?
  9. They all do that sir.....in fact all cars since the introduction of disc brakes..!
  10. A friend of mine is called Laura & thinks it's hilarious that I ask her to do so much in the car..... To be honest is the connect services worth much? I can check whether the car is locked & the lights turned off using a mk 1 eyeball....free to use!
  11. Luckily I've had few infotainment restarts in my Mar 2023 Octavia. But I've noticed 3 restarts at the same place during recent travel....but only in 1 direction when Android Auto is wireless on return journey. Outbound, phone is connected via USB.
  12. Don't stress....they'll fix it no charge
  13. Is it possible to switch this on via VCDS?
  14. Yes I've done this in the past to my wife with our previous mk 3 Octavia. However our mk 4 with kessy is only locked by touching the door handle. I very rarely use the buttons on key/sensor & that is to unlock the passenger doors. Do you drive? Even if you don't why not keep the spare kessy key on your person?
  15. I've been lucky with my 3/2023 mk4; apart from the occasional infotainment restarting & the occasional spurious error that goes away on re-starting (just like my previous 2 mk3's). So would like a physical button to select the radio screen; a proper rotary switch for lights; voice activation that works & physical heater controls.
  16. Yea on my 3rd Octavia: 2013, 2018 & now a mk4 delivered March 2023. No warranty issues with all 3 so far, although occasional warnings which go away on restarting. They always said if Microsoft made cars.......so now they do alt/ctrl/delete.
  17. Yep noticed that too. Car will nag but ignore, open door & lock, & it'll end up automatically in park, & ebrake if required.
  18. I somehow think the ebrake will apply automatically once the gearbox is in park if the car is parked on a slope. Maybe a sensor in the gearbox? At home the car is parked on the level & the ebrake is not activated when I pull away in the morning. At work on a slight slope it is.
  19. Like standard Android Auto, wireless Android Auto overrides your car's infotainment software and lets your phone do the heavy lifting. It requires a compatible head unit and in-vehicle Wi-Fi. Bluetooth doesn't transmit enough data to support wireless Android Auto.19 Jul 2023 https://www.androidpolice.com › ca... Does your new car support wireless Android Auto?
  20. I have locked a kessy in the boot deliberately. The doors & boot remained locked when approached by someone without a kessy on their person.
  21. New car now 3 months old. On collecting car salesman tried to connect to wireless AA with my Samsung S9. It failed & he concluded the phone is not compatable..... ......a few weeks later I make it connect 🙏.... ....so as the onboard wifi has no Internet connection I have to manually turn on mobile data only for apps to force phone to connect to a 4g signal. Is there any other way round this? I know for successful wireless connection there must be a Bluetooth & onboard wifi connection; so without an onboard sim slot is this Skoda's way of "persuading" customers to buy a data plan?
  22. I assume the 5th door is the boot? So yes I've had this happen to me. Fails to open, walk out of range, walk back & it works. Occasionally touching a rear door sensor fails to lock car too.
