  1. My first check was gonna be my break pads as I'm aware they need changing anyways. Once the abs is off the judder goes so I definitely don't think it's misfiring. When I reverse the brakes make a horrible sound so my guess is new pads. Thanks for all the help guys, will get the brake off tomorrow and check it out. Will let you know how it gets on!
  2. Yeah, I should know that by now haha. I was going to raise a case but to be honest it was clearly the tray sat on top of the battery, this demonstrates shoddy work of course but after the hassle i've already had I couldn't justify having more over that, it seriously has got me down so much. The story - heavy oil usage, upon testing it was confirmed 2 misfiring cyclinders, not major but definitely an issue and also a leaking turbo. other than the oil issues the car drove perfectly. Then came the fun after receiving the car back. first off everything seemed fine, then I had issues with not just 1 but both bearings, the dealer then notified there was issues with my chassis allignment, so I had the chassis realligned and the bearing on the passenger side done (this was the worst), the knocking seems to be definitely coming from that side of the car. I found it a bit strange that there were never any problems before this but as soon as they done work there was. I had the work carried out by white dove skoda in Cardiff. The engine was changed at 34000 miles, the car is now on 37500. I would also like to add that on the passenger side i've had a knock on full lock for some time now, what I believe to be a track rod end. It does seem that my problems are always on the front left side of the car! The only thing I have done myself is the BOV adapter which I will be removing tonight just as a bit of a shot in the dark.
  3. Yeah, I had the DSG issue previously, I managed to diagnose that myself as a loose terminal. The problem this time is that I can actually hear a physical knocking from what sounds like the left front wheel. I don't think i'm gonna have much choice other than to take it back, I am gonna jack it up later on today and just put it in neutral to check my brakes havent slightly locked on and to just have a look to if there's anything obvious on the underneath. As far as i'm aware EVERYTHING was changed other than the supercharger, i'll have to double check the invoice when I get in. Would an engine issue really bring an ESP warning?
  4. So yesterday I was driving along with cruise control I could feel and actually see what was feeling like a missfire. cruising at 70 a judder followed by cruise control turning itself off. so when I got off the motorway I put my foot down, thought it was better to bring any problems to surface. put my foot down and I was expecting *bing* but no, not engine management.. ESP/ABS fault. so I pulled up, turned the car off and on again, the lights had cleared, reversed to full lock left to what was basically a scraping sound when any sort of braking was applied. Then I pulled off to what could only be described and knock every time the wheels down a full revolution, got up to speed of about 20mph and the knock had gone. then... *bing* back on comes the ESP light, ABS and Traction control. Got home and checked for any codes - no error codes being found yet my dash is lit up like the orange light district haha! Anyone have any ideas as to what this could be? I was thinking a screwed sensor at first but I get the feeling this isn't going to be a fun one to deal with. Also to note, it does still feel like it's misfiring to me, a few times when crawling home at 50 the car juddered, Very lumpy gear change also. Thanks, Darren.
  5. I'm guessing a sunday would be best for everyone? sunday evening maybe? Having problems with my car as of last night, hopefully can get it fixed soon.
  6. Im up for it, will have to be about 5ish for me, bust before and after! even if only a few people turn up would be nice!

  8. Welcome! lovely to see people from all over the world popping up here!
  9. maybe interested in these, live just up the road in pontypridd.
  10. my biggest issue at the moment is when it changes up from second to third, feelsvery delayed comapred to how smooth the others are.
  11. I think it sounds cracking! the motorway drone would be the only downside for me, but then again my music would always drown that out. Might be something I consider doing in the future. Really cheap modification as well.
  12. Ah that's fair enough ash! Good luck with the interview mate, let us know how it goes. I'd offer to arrange it but I couldn't arrange a **** up in a brewery.
  13. Christ guys, you're making me feel young here! I've only just said goodbye to my teenage years!
  14. Exactly the same as me then. Only happens when driving like a nun.
  15. i seem to have a similar issue going doing from second to first, kind of like a knock, and it feels like slight engine braking as well.
  16. HAHAHA, i'd say you're getting the better end of the deal but I get the feeling there's more to it than that. Congratulations to you! I'm also busy this weekend - not getting married though! i'm free after that though, even if we only get a few of us. Would be good!
  17. I'm free most evenings! the joys of being single eyy ?
  18. Right, I believe i've found the issue. The plate which sits on top of the battery which has all the electrics coming off was loose to say the least. after tightening the 12v supply i've only had this problem once in about 200 miles. I believe that quite possibly the ground is a bit loose as well so will take a look at that when I get in. Very shody workmanship to say the least.
  19. Also south wales here mate, pontypridd. As said about... stop thinking and do it. If I could justify it i'd get a nice new one.
  20. I should be free then! I can do a small meet up whenever, be interesting to see what you're all driving. I'm sure we can all have fun taking the **** out of my usual mk2 problems as well haha!
