  1. Few friends have had their A4 and A6's churned on time, which makes me think the more premium VW offerings are much less affected. The production volume may be different though.
  2. It depends on the phone and the settings. I don't know the exact rule, but I've seen Android push audio to Android Audio through USB Audio, and then there is no difference in sound quality whatsoever. In many cases though it indeed sends audio through bluetooth resulting in a crappy quality. You can test this easily by disabling bluetooth on your phone while having Android Auto connected. If the music stops, it was through bluetooth.
  3. Yeah, I remember your cancel story from the other thread. I've stumped when I learned there is no chance to have the car for this year's holidays after all, but I'm over it too. I'm just patiently waiting to have it delivered and to have fun driving it then.
  4. @themanwithnoaim BW34 is the good one! The first provisional BW assigned was BW39. :-) As the extras go, I don't think I went overboard at all! It's meteor grey RS230 TSI (FL) with airbags for rear passengers, heated windshield and front seats and black pack added to the stock. Doesn't seem like much...
  5. I just got the info from my dealer that after the factory reopened my BW34 (ordered May 8th) did not change as of now. This may be a good news, considering it could move for the worse. @peterhardy do you have some new info on yours?
  6. From what I understood while talking to my dealership the answer is yes, Skoda assigns production quota to dealerships and those may differ. I've no idea of the rules though. As curious as I am whether my BW got bumped after factory reopen as well, my salesman is on a short vacation and I'll have to wait for some news
  7. Good point! With the current lineup with the new Rapid, all three of them are easily told apart which, for me, is a plus. We have on our parking lot in the office a pre-FL Octavia and the previous-gen Rapid and I never know which one is which.
  8. Oh, no, I just wish for 33, it's still 34 - but the factory is now closed, so no updates to that. But indeed from the original 39th it's only getting better. 22+ weeks is maybe still not Kodiaq territory, but it sounds plain weird. I don't get how Skoda calculates those though at all, after so many reports here on Briskoda about orders delivered so much faster with similar specs. The dealer quota system is something that escapes me and I don't know if there is any logic behind that. I feel for you!
  9. Mine got bumped from 39 to 38 to 37 and now to 34. Dealer says it perhaps won't change much due to the factory break. I'm keeping my fingers crossed as hard as I can to get BW33. With BW34 the car will arrive exactly when I will be leaving for a holiday trip and I will have to take the old one for that. Keeping fingers crossed for your build weeks to move in the right direction as well!
  10. I've just received a written letter from the customer service centre in which they didn't answer any of my questions. Just a generic message that build times may vary and that they do their best to deliver as soon as possible, but amount of orders is huge and there is nothing they can do. Meanwhile my build week changed from 39 to 38, and now to 37, which means 18 weeks from order date to build date. This one will teach me patience, no doubt.
  11. I must say I hated them at first and was really bummed as I didn't order 3 on time and 3FL happened to be the only option. I hesitated for quite some time. After seeing it live and after few months has passed since they appeared I grew really fond of them. Seeing both 3 and 3FL on the streets I now feel the old lights are plain dull and new one look really sharp and I am now really happy I waited. I dislike the middle stripe on the grill though, and I have always liked only the black pack version on both 3 and 3FL, considering the chrome grill frame uninspiring and irritating at least.
  12. Yeah, I'm starting to see the new FL models on the streets as well. They really look good in the flesh. Cheers!
  13. I've sent a written letter of complaint to customer service here in Poland as well, quoting the original estimates and the current planned build week with the exact factory order number. I wonder if they will even reply, but hey, it's worth a try. My build week has been changed from W39 to W38 last Friday. Not a big thing, but maybe a sign of something better coming. :-)
  14. Wow, that's fast. I hope it won't change for you :-) What spec have you re-ordered after all?
  15. Let us know if you get a reply from Skoda UK. I've posted this in another thread, but I'm in a similar situation as yours. vRS ordered on May 8th and build date estimated to week 39, which is end of September and 20 weeks from order date. The dealer originally estimated 12 weeks as well, but even though a month has passed the estimate has not changed yet to any better one. I'm being told they have no control over the factory (which seems a valid reply, to be honest), but my dealer is surprised by this delay as well. The reason you mention is not something we considered. I, too, could've ordered sooner. May the patience be with you, Peter! Mateusz
  16. I hope mine is pessimistic then, as 20 weeks is an awful lot of time. I hope your 12 weeks will hold true
  17. I just got my build date from my dealer and I was suddenly brought down to earth and stunned. I've been discussing ordering a new vRS with several dealers and all of them were estimating 12-14 weeks tops for collection, so I took the plunge and ordered earlier than planned just to get the car still during the summer for some holiday cruising and before my current car is due for MOT and new insurance period. It seems nothing like this is going to happen after all. Long story short: meteor grey vRS 230 TSI FL with black pack, heated front seats and heated windshield and basic spec otherwise ordered on 8th of May. Estimated build for week 39, which is late September and 20 weeks later. Collection mid October or so... can still change though, but I am not having high hopes for that. It seems they've been flooded with vRS orders lately, as it's far off from any estimates I've been given earlier.
  18. I ordered Steel Grey (Meteor Grey here I presume) vRS DSG petrol with heated front seats & windscreen with gray stitching, otherwise basic spec, two weeks ago. No build date so far though.
  19. Thanks for help - it really seems so. I was able to dig the old plain paper price lists with all equipment listed and Bluetooth is indeed in all versions. The online configurator is really good at upselling poorly described features making people think they are needed :-) Thanks!
  20. Ha, that's news. Skoda website here says it's Bolero as default, but lack of satnav and DVD does not bother me at all. Seeing from the manual, Columbus display is wider, but is not taller, so I'm more and more thinking the default setup will do the job just fine. Actually, the volume knob being a physical one is something I like in the car too, even being a touchscreen fan.
  21. Sorry for the lame question, but the user manual is not really clear on that - all manual pages regarding Bluetooth won't mention it comes as an option. Skoda's page on vRS 3FL says that "comfortable use of phone" (whatever that means) comes as standard, but during the configuration one can choose "wireless phone charging with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi" which has no detailed description. Does that mean that without selecting that additional option 3FL has no Bluetooth capability at all, or is it there but limited in some way? I'm thinking about basic making/receiving calls, not voice commands. Thanks and cheers!
  22. Hi guys! I'm gearing towards ordering a 3FL vRS soon but one thing really bugs me. From the first announcement I was hooked on the 9 inch Columbus display, hoping for a very fluid experience and lots of everyday comfort, a iPad-like quality to the display. The big display seemed like a great choice for accessing some car settings, stats and multimedia. However, more and more reviews showing the FL Octavia with Columbus make me wonder. The screen on the review videos does not look fluid and responsive at all. Reviewers often tap once and then again on the icon to get things moving, and everything seems kind of sluggish. I'm not into built-in sat nav (I plan on using Android Auto with my phone for that anyway), so that Columbus feature is not really a deal breaker for me. Do you think Columbus is a really worth upgrading from the stock Bolero on vRS? What could be the disadvantages of Bolero in everyday use, apart from the size itself? I tried to compare them at the dealer's, but I'm yet to find a place with Columbus nearby to get a hang of it. Also most of the reviews on YouTube are of Columbus equipped versions, so little have I seen about the hands-on Bolero experience in 3/3FL. Thanks a lot for your help! Cheers! Mateusz
  23. Hello there :-) I've just registered, being pumped to order a FL Octavia sooner than later. Thanks for this valuable forum I've been leading for months now :-) Cheers! Mateusz
