Evening all . I was 20 miles into a 150 journey today . When the passenger side wiper stopped working . Drivers side is still fine . Any pointers for when I look at it tomorrow?? I was thinking if one side works then surely the motor is ok . But I’m not sure of the set up on a fabia regards Tony

I thought uniroyals had soft sidewalls . I don't really want that again ..

Thanks for the input . Is there any tyre to look out for that doesn't tramline ? If so any recommendations

They were brought from a tyre supplier . And all made in 2016 . Maybe it is just a tyre issue ...

I've tried fixing this problem for a while .. it's by far the best it's ever been ...

I think I spoke to you before about them .. I've tried higher pressures in them . But that made it feel worst . They seem a very lazy tyre . I first brought 2 new fronts and thought they was ok . So I then brought 2 matching rears . It seemed to handle worst with 4 matching tyres . Would that make sense

Ah wino I see . Sorry for the confusion. I've owned both . And non pas golf was much nicer to drive ... felt very mechanical.. if that makes sense !

Morning all sorry for delay . I've had the alignment done 4 times .. last time it was done . The guy seemed to measure more .. both chambers were out of spec . -1.25 and -1.32 I think . The guy who did it said no problems with that . And castor on drivers side was slightly out .. also he said it's not an issue .. it has 4 new Barum 3s in correct 205 45 16 size .. however they always look flat . I'm wondering if it's the issue ... alwAys keep on top of pressures .. I've just never thought it felt planted on the road . Could outer cv joint play make it feel that way ?

On a private road . Between 80 and 90 on dash. It kinda feels like it's floating . I put an ap suspension kit on it . Every bush has been changed .. Rarb , new steering rack . 4x Barum tyres .. (not the xl version ) wonder if this is the issues .. I've owned the car since 2015 . And love the engine and mpg but the handling has always felt odd .. tyre pressures are 33f 34r ... however I've tried lots of diff combinations..

Morning all.. I have always felt this problem for the day I got the fabia vrs .. great car but never felt stable at speed ... steering feels ever so light .. I've changed pretty much everything under the car it drives straight as an arrow ...as I've never driven another one I have nothing to compare against .. I can't believe they all feel this way , as plenty of people do track days on here

Morning all . I'm thinking my vrs is needing an outer cv , as I'm getting a click on full rhs lock . I've seen a few people have fitted j&r joibts . Are they any good ?? Reviews look bad .. Regards Tony

The problem with Bridgestone is the front tyre wears very funny ... 21 or 23 . If it was mine I would put either Michelin pilot rd4 or metzeler roadtec 01 both great tyres for everyday road use . If you want a sportier tyre try metzeler m7rr .... I'm not a sales man . Just been a motorcycle tech for 22 years so just stating what I've seen from experience regards tony

Cbr looks like a nice standard tidy example ... when you have worn out the Bridgestone bt021s do not replace with the same .. and as for the fabia . Again what a lovely example...

Hi all . Having a bit of a headache with my fabia vrs .. I've never been completely happy with the way the car steers and handles . And the strange thing is some days it feels better then others .. I've had it up on 2 different ramps for people to check it out and both say nothing loose or nothing worn .. it tracks pretty straight on normal roads . However it follows the camber massively.. and the steering when central feels so vague .. in the past 18k I've changed . All top mounts . It's had an ap shock spring kit . Powerflex bushes in consoles .recon genuine rack . New track rods and ends . Ball joints and drop links . Arb bushes . Rear beam bushes and lastly 4 new tyres .. I've changed gearbox mount and dog bone mount too .i seem to have a bit of rotational play in drivers side inner cv joint .. wonder if this would be the culprit. I've not had a geo check for a while . Reason being I wanted to try to cure the front end knocking before I pay for one .. when driven over say like a cobbled street feels like something's loose through the pedals . But as no one can find what it is im stumped . I wonder if the knocking is related to my handling woes .. I've had numerous people drive it and they all say it's ok .. I think not . Does anyone have a silent fabia or am I asking too much . One last thing the tyres I fitted are not extra load ones . Is that an issue ?? Sorry to go on regards Tony

Evening all .. the passenger side window dropped when I went to open the window . I'm guessing the regulator has failed ... I've looked at some posts and seems it's a poxy job .. my car is a 53 plate vrs and I'm hoping the carrier is bolted !! Anyhow .. is there a way of making the window secure ( as I prob won't be tackling the job of replacing carrier until weekend ?) also has anyone used a replacement from either eBay or ecp with success ?? regards Tony

Morning all ... Sorry for delay . I put a bar on the wheel bolts before I drove it home .. (All tight ) had a good visual of tyres inside and out ... All looked good .. So I got in and drove... To my sunrise the car felt OK .. I did the same journey the next day . And coasted at the same point where I got the vibration .. And low and behold exactly the same .. So I'm concluding it must of been Ross surface ... I've since driven 200 miles no issues Regards Tony

Hi all . How difficult is it to change a passenger side top mount ? I have ap shocks and springs on . I remember removing a standard spring and shock from front and it was a pain . However I didn't fit the ap kit .. As they are shorter I'm hoping they are easier to get out ? Also would I need to get the tracking checked after ??

The wheels were not powder coated or painted , I will get a bar on them before I drive it .. No I didn't fit them ...

Tyres are all less then 1k old . But I will have a look

Hi all . Was having a bit of fun today on way to work round some roundabouts .. When I came out of the last one , I noticed that there seemed to be a vibration in cabin . So I engaged the clutch and coasted , it was still there . I've since left it in the car park and not looked at it . Any pointers as where to start .. It was apparent at 30mph ..

Hi all I had a set of barum bravius 3 tyres fittedon the front of my vrs a month or so ago . I found them more then adequate for my driving , so I put 2 new ones on the back . This is where it's gone strange . I now get a strange feeling when changing lanes on motorway from rear . Kinda like a squishy feeling .. I have only done 100 miles with them. And run them at 32psi . What's your thoughts guys ? Soft side walls ?? Regards Tony
