  1. Thanks Sutts, much appreciated
  2. I don't suppose you have a link to that cable do you? I got a couple that were both stated as 30cm long but they were 25cm so had to go back. Thanks.
  3. Looking around to get a cable myself and I came across this I wonder if this will solve the problem of the 30 cm cable being 'just' about enough. Not sure myself but for the price it might be worth a punt. It is 20cm coiled but will stretch up to 100.
  4. Excellent, that's good to hear. I had a Superb Mk2 FL from 2014 - 2019 and I really enjoyed that but this is the first petrol engine I've had for about 10 years. I'm looking forward to playing with all the tech!
  5. That's not good, as you say. Now that you've had it a couple of weeks, apart from the fault are you pleased with it? Get mine on Monday morning.
  6. The reds are nice, having had a silver Superb then a black vehicle just now, I'm looking forward to something a bit more bold.
  7. Yes there are options for both types of SE Tech, so no worries there. I originally had an SE first edition on order from a lease company but then they had a few SE Tech versions available earlier and for less money strangely, and best of all there was one in race blue.
  8. Paperwork confirms it as an SE Tech, dealer said they'd never heard of a first edition of the SE Tech so it must be a European option. Strange that UK insurers have it as an option unless it covers imports perhaps.
  9. As I'm due to take delivery of my new car next week I'm sorting out insurance and one thing I keep getting asked is it an SE Tech first edition? Anyone heard of this in the UK? Certainly in the UK I've never come across this, only the SE or SE L have first editions so far, (as far as I'm aware), but on the drop down menus for many UK insurers, there it is, SE Tech first edition. I've asked the dealer for clarification as the insurers have said it has to be the correct one or insurance will be invalid. I'm sure it'll be on the paperwork when I get it. It's being registered tomorrow so I can't check via the reg even though I have it.
  10. Without wishing to inflame the situation, I think the issue here is your replies, no matter how well intentioned they were, came across as a bit patronising. There are a lot of us here that research for ages before pulling the trigger to buy a new car but at the end of the day the brochures and the internet only tell you so much and there are circumstances where some of us have driven / seen vehicles without the features that you've mentioned and yet still have the rear lights that go across to the boot. As we're seeing in some of the other topics on this particular forum, there seem to be a few small glitches on the new Octavia especially on some of the early cars so this may be part of that I don't know. One thing that I've always liked about this site is friendliness and the ability to ask a question without ridicule. As I said, I'm sure that a long standing member such as yourself who has answered some of my questions in the past didn't mean to get into an 'argument' with a fellow Skoda owner just seeking clarification over a query on their car. Let's hope this might be a glitch rather than a case for Mulder and Scully.
  11. Having looked at some of the reviews of the Mk 4 on YouTube from other countries it seems that the rear lights go all the way across even on the lowest spec cars (those with the 8.25" infotainment screen). Bizarre.
  12. Does that include the SE Technology I wonder? That seems to be the only one available at the moment that doesn't have 'First Edition' after it. Guess I'll find out in a couple of weeks
  13. How strange, I thought the SE L got everything for the rear lights.
  14. One like this one ? Might give it a go, thanks.
  15. As far as I'm aware it is only the SE L First edition out of the three available now that has the full functionality of the rear lights including the scrolling rear indicators. The SE and SE Technology only get the low functionality rear lights which don't extend across to the boot lid. I stand to be corrected though. It's a shame as they don't look the same without it. I've ordered an SE Tech estate on lease which should come in a couple of weeks, would've loved the SE L but was too much for me at the moment.
