What are you basing this comment on re: Remus vs. Scorpion? (Out of interest, not being snarky :) )

I have a full turbo-back Scorpion system myself, which I've had both non-resonated (loud!) and now resonated. Both setups pushed more vibrations in the car but was minimal over OEM - does depend on how much vibration we're talking, though.

New exhausts will take time to bed in, 1000-2000 miles being about right (certainly for my setup anyway) - and now it works a dream. The MkIII Octys have minimal soundproofing, so any minor increase in noise - such as a larger diameter exhaust - will increase felt vibration anyway.

Mainly price difference as well as finish, I've seen the Remus and the finish on it is very nice. Although the Scorpion also is a quality product, just being £1000 more....

I'm feeling somewhat strong vibrations through the seat at 2500rpm+ as well as noticing the back window vibrating also. The sun viser when down does the same too. I wonder if I just need to put another 1000 miles on it because I don't hear any rattle, the vibration is only happening at a high-ish RPM so I don't believe it's a fault with the fit.

  2. I've recently had a Scorpion (https://www.scorpion-exhausts.com/skoda-octavia-vrs-2-0-tsi-265-2013-2015-resonated-cat-back-system-oe-fitment) fitted to my MK3 Octavia VRS. Sounds good however I am getting some vibrations through the seats in the vehicle at around 3000rpm+. I've done about 1000 miles so far with the exhaust fitted.

I understand any aftermarket part will change the OEM feel of the vehicle but I wanted to know if this was normal and if it's to do with the type of exhaust itself. I am wondering if the Remus (https://clptuning.co.uk/product/remus-cat-back-exhaust-skoda-octavia-vrs/) given that it's a more quality and refined exhaust that it wouldn't give that high resonation and vibration in the cabin?

  3. Thats a lot of cash. I'm sure there aren't very many customers on here who spent that much on a TSi Rapid or Toledo. I certainly couldn't have afforded that.

Such a shame how it's turned out.

Can't remember the exact cost but mine was around £16-18k. Loaded it with every single addon bar a few useless ones like smokers pack etc.

Edit: It was around £18,600 when I configured it but I remember I got it down to £15,900

  4. How did you remove the grille please?

I'm wanting to do my grille surround too [emoji16]

I can see the screws on the top but don't know what to do after that.

My Citigo was a nightmare too [emoji57]

Remove the top screws and it should pop off. When I had an accident in mine, I watched it being taken off and put back on again. Just make sure it lines up right when you put it back on.

Get a torch in the grill to try see the clips that hold it in so you aren't straining the weak points.

  5. How long did you have to wait for the car?

When we signed up to ours, the delay was 3 months, so the car does not exist yet. I would expect our order to have the sensors added during manufacture.

If your order had already been made and was on route to the uk, then that would explain why they will be retro fitted.

Ordered in the middle of June. Arrived shortly after the 20th of August. I have a lot of options so I'm fairly certain it was a complete new build.

  6. I got the same thing.

Retrofitted sensors but I wasn't told they'll be retrofitted. Up until the day I was picking up my car I thought they were factory installed.

I was certainly shocked to see no visual display either. Although I never really used it much on my old car, it was nice to have.

  7. I have buttons on both sides. But I have the three spoke flat bottomed steering wheel as an optional extra.

I have 4 sensors because the sensors were retrofitted by my skoda dealer rather than the manufacturing stage. I actually asked them because I saw they only came with 3.

  8. Must be the green paint; mine got peppered with numerous stones kicked up by other road users and a combine harvester working a field (bizarre but true) first week commuting in the car. This left me with around eight decent size stone chips to touch in, one of which had dented the metal :S

Anyway I hope you get it sorted,

    TP

Green also attracts so many bugs, I love the colour but it'll require a lot of maintenance. Luckily I've not come across any combine harvesters.

Sorry to hear about yours. Maybe get something like smart insurance which covers small scratches and I believe chips.

  9. Hello All,

Spent yesterday evening reading the Rapid forum. Very interesting.

I've ordered a new Sport in white with heated seats (not the red stitching), hill hold, auto lights and wipers, parking sensors and a spare wheel.

This will replace our 2007 Golf TDI which has started to cost money. The rapid will be our family car. My work commute car is a 63 plate Polo R-Line which has the same 1.2TSI Engine. I love that engine, so pleased to be getting another one.

    I have some questions.

*How do you make/answer a phone call? Our rapid won't have a multi function steering wheel.

    * What settings can you change on the maxidot? Can you change central locking profiles etc?

    * Will the ride be much harder on 17 inch wheels compared to my polos 16 inchers (My wife went on the test drive as I could not get time off) I've never driven on 17 inch wheels before.

    * does the drivers door have window controls for all four windows?

Looking forward to being an active member of the Forum.

    Alex

    * I wouldn't know for sure because I have the multi-function steering wheel but I know the buttons on the stalks attached to the steering column replace most of the controls that the buttons on the wheel do.

    * I cannot change the locking profiles. Pretty sure you'd need to use both keys and set each key via VCDS to your own preference. All I can change is what the maxidot displays (old, temp, milage etc), whereas in my old 2010 golf I could change coming home lights and lots of other features.

    * I moved from my 16" wheels to these 17" low profile tyres and the ray alloys. Ride is a bit choppier but not unbearable.

    * Drivers door does have all the window buttons.
