  1. Here you go, this is mine currently in the Gora.
  2. Cheers Josh, pretty much thought it would. Does anyone have any pictures of one fitted to a Fabia to see how it compares with the perforated gear lever and handbrake?
  3. Its one of ony 3 in the UK. Its a VW Bora with a Golf front end, know as a Gora. The Golf with a Bora front end is known as a Bolf. Heres a couple of pics of mine with its old wing mirrors still on.
  4. Aww bugger! Thanks Stu for confirming that for me. Look like I'll need to try and sorce a Skoda unit then and sell my VW one when the Fabia arrives.
  5. Do any members have a mk4 VW Golf R32 steering wheel fitted to their vRS? Got one on my Gora and fancy swapping it over to a vRS but I know the vRS has the perforated handbrake and gear **** so dont want it to look out of place. I know EddyH has one on his Octavia, but if anyone had one on a Furby that would be great. Any info or your opinions are appreciated. Cheers
  6. Pretty sure its Highway my insurance is with just now through Flux. I only pay around £350 at the moment for my Gora SE 1.9 TDi (110) which I think is group 6, and I'm 29 with 6 years NCB, no endorsements and no faults. I know the Fabia will probably cost more anyway to insure being group 9, but would like not to have to pay daft premium again like when I was young and trying to cover my Polo 16v.
  7. I suppose telling them you have fitted 312mm Audi TT brakes to help you stop quicker wont help :P
  8. Does your unit light up VW blue and red when you switch your headlights on? I have a version D unit in my Gora and would quite like to take it with me when I get a Fabia vRS, but dont really want it to light up red when the rest of the instruments are illuminated green.
  9. Cheers sir. I'm currently with Adrian Flux for my Gora and they have allowed me to do basically anything to my car, with the exception of performance mods, without an increase in my policy. When I do find the right vRS will definately ask them to requote. Good to hear what insurance companies you guys are with with mapped cars too.
  10. When I eventually get my vRS, one of the first things I want to do is take it to Star Performance and have it remapped, along with a 160 PD air intake and a cat back Milltek. Just wondering how this would affect my insurance. Surely going from 130 to nearly 180 BHP is going to increase my premium. Would be interested to hear from some of the guys on here who have remapped and carried out performance mods to thier Furby's on how thier insurance has been affected. Thanks
  11. I'm certain Octavia handles would fit, as would mk4 Golf, Bora or Passat handles as they all appear the same. Not sure you could buy them pre-painted from the dealer, probably have to buy them primed then get them painted, or find a set from a scrapyard from a silver Octavia and fit them, as the silver is the same colour IIRC.
  12. Thanks for your quick responce. Looks so much better colour coded, don't know why they never did it right from the launch of the vRS.
  13. Just been looking at a yellow Fabia vRS at my local dealer that is for sale as an ex-demonstrator, and noticed that the door handles are the same colour as the car. Can anyone tell me if this is a new addition to the vRS or has the dealer coded them themselves? Thanks
  14. Thought that. Excellent now I know where to go for TT brakes when I eventually get a Furby:cool:
  15. Woohoo 17 out of 19 on 1st go. Not too bad, although tripod ones caught me out.
  16. Do you notice a big difference with the 312 brakes?
  17. Would definately do the remap, strut brace and Eibachs. The 312mm brakes I think are quite pricey and pretty sure you need to go 17s to get them to fit as the TT had 17's as a minimum. Also sure your warranty would be void if you carried out the mods, although I know my local Skoda dealer actually takes brand new vRS's to Star Performance for remaps for customers, so not sure how a remap affects your warranty.
  18. I'm sure the Superb comes or did come with a W8 style interior light with green LED's. Also VW do a W8 light with sunroof controls, if you want to change the red lighting for green.
  19. Yep, thats me mate. Kenny was telling me all about your Furby at the Glasgow region ScottishVAG Christmas doo on Saturday. Sounds gorgeous, if only I had the money available just now you might have had a sale. Thanks for all the comments guys, was surprised to log on tonight and find 2 pages, really appreciate your responses. Looks like yellow is an acquired taste then, with black or silver being the safest bets. Been looking at a few 2nd hand ones and its appears that red ones seem to go for slightly less money, which makes red a bit more appealing, although dont fancy my chances in keeping it for long before it got written off if my past red car experiences are anything to go by. Does anyone know of fading paint issues with red and yellow vRS's, as my old red Polo began to turn pink after 4 years old.
  20. Thinking hard about changing my Gora for a Fabia vRS, only thing is deciding on the colour. I really like yellow, but have been told that it will be a nightmare when eventually coming to sell it as not everyone likes yellow and it will affect its resale price :(. Also like red but have been really unlucky with red cars as everyone I've owned has been written off . Don't really want black as there are 2 black Furby vRS's started to park in my street and there are also 2 that park at my parents house. Just seems to be that everyone I see on the road is black. I could take or leave silver as I dont mind it either way. Your opinions would really be appreciated to help me decide, and look forward to hearing from you yellow vRS owners. Cheers
  21. Calm down mate. Only posting whats been published. My dad has owned 2 Octavias and loved them in every way from the cars to dealer experiences, and I'm not here to slate VAG cars, especially as I've owned so many. The table was produced from warranty statistics, not a survey like the JD Power one.
