  1. I’ve found a 20cm cable on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/OpenII-Extension-Macbook-Chormebook-devices/dp/B07FC69S5N/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3HZJ5TY64XNVS&dchild=1&keywords=type%2Bc%2Bto%2Bmicro%2Busb%2B20cm&qid=1600937705&sprefix=20cm%2Busb-c%2Bto%2Bmicr%2Caps%2C174&sr=8-3&th=1 I might order this and a 30cm one and see what works best.
  2. Ah ha thanks, of course. So a proprietary USB-C/micro USB lead should work with most common dash cams e.g. Nextbase etc? I’ve not had one before but am tempted, partly because of the handy headlining socket!
  3. My mistake, just been outside and checked and the lights just function on the outside not on the boot lid.
  4. Which dash cams have USB-C ports? Or would you use an adapter?
  5. SEL FE has rear lights that go across the boot lid, but not scrolling indicators - just normal small block of LED’s on the outer sections.
  6. I have found that if I pull away immediately from a cold start there is a very slight judder perceptible for no more than a few seconds. It’s quite easy to drive around. Interesting to see if it changes when the temperature starts to drop. If I start the car and let it idle for 10 seconds while belting up, turning on radio etc then it’s basically gone by the time I pull away. otherwise it’s all good - I’ve listened hard to see if there is any noise or vibration at low revs when the cylinders deactivate, and there isn’t - other than the icon coming up on the screen I can’t tell. Also I’ve doubled checked and the Columbus navigation is definitely set to mph and distance in miles when on a route, and came like that from the dealer.
  7. Strange one, mine come set up with mph display on the sat nav from collection. This was prior to setting up the Connected app.
  8. Nice one, I think I’ve sorted out the mirror now.
  9. Well I collected the car yesterday and have now driven just over 300 miles. All good so far, the standout being an indicted average 60 mpg over 260 miles, with a high of 61.1 before I hit heavy traffic on the M25. To be fair I was taking it pretty easy at 65-75 mph most of the time on the motorway, but even so! The 1.5 TSI engine felt very smooth and quiet, and I basically couldn’t tell when the cylinder deactivation was switching in or out. Other highlights for me: Very good ride on the 17” wheels; they largely soaked up the horrible ridged concrete sections on the M25 better than anything else I’ve had over the past few years. Very comfortable seats which can go really low if you want to, despite being electric. Really nice steering wheel and I thought the switches on it felt high quality. No issues with volume on the screen - just use the wheel roller. Brakes very progressive and not at all grabby. Blind spot monitoring very useful Wireless CarPlay pretty cool and easy to set up. Stop-start and adaptive cruise control were firsts for me with this car - both worked very well I’ve also set up the Skoda Connect app with me as ‘primary users with no issues and it is a bit of fun. Still trying to work out how to set the near side mirror to dip when I reverse. Anyway, a good start.
  10. Interesting, and obviously pretty good early impressions. Yours was clearly pretty highly specced over standard with the rear camera and HUD included. What colour? I am collecting a petrol blue 1.5 Tsi manual SEL 1st Ed. estate on Tuesday, and then almost immediately driving it 300 miles, so it’s good to know the seats are comfortable! Mine was also a built car but found one with full leather (plus spare wheel) as the only option apart from the paint.
  11. I’ve watched several of the the more credible YouTube reviews recently and none mentioned poor or lifeless steering. Most were cautiously complimentary about it. Brakes were said to be good, with one believing them to have more feel than the Leon.
  12. After a few years away from Skoda yesterday I ordered (2 year lease) a First Edition SE-L estate. It’s a 1.5 petrol, manual, in Petrol Blue with the optional leather interior and a spare wheel. Otherwise it looks really well equipped as standard! It’s a built car waiting to get on the boat, and I should have it in about 3 weeks time. One minor thing I can’t work out is whether it comes with the rear passenger window blinds (that pull up from the doors) as standard. I’ve seen them on some U.K. reviews e.g. CarWow, but can’t see it within the lists of options or packs, or on the lists of standard equipment. Has anyone seen these on a U.K. demonstrator? I could ask the dealer I suppose but thought it would more fun to reactivate my Briskoda account first!
