16555 P0171 - 006 - System Too Lean
Next steps in the diagnosis process is to take VCDS and check a few figures before and after zip tying the PCV pipes. The cracks/separation on the intake manifold are looking mostly superficial. Holding fingers over them (or trying anyway) I couldn't feel any draft. WIll add more specific details once I've actually done it.

Wondering if the crack in the first pic might be to blame on the intake (left of hose and clamp).. or that notch in the 2nd pic on the intake (top of 2nd pic, slightly right of hose). Small gap but will try and get a better pic tomorrow. This picture is looking up on the drivers side(rhd) looking up . Left is the intake manifold and right is the pcv pipe This picture is on the driver's side (rhd) looking down on the pcv side to the rear of the engine.

Wiggled them all - made seemingly no difference 😞 Also felt around the rubber bits for any holes/drafts. No joy. Time for a bit of carb cleaner tomorrow I guess.

Not yet. Will try and check a little later tonight and let you know how I get on.

Pipe moved around. No hissing, touching it, no apparent break and no change in idle. EGR hole covered, No apparent change in revs. Investigation will continue later tonight/tomorrow after I'm done with office work.

Thank you. Will have a look around the engine bay when I get another chance. Presumably spraying a bit of carb cleaner around that area will result in higher revs if there's a hole?

Same error again today. Is this due to driving the car in different ways (errors comes up with low revs after driving highly revved and with a heavy foot for a while)?

Cleaned the sensor a little earlier with carb cleaner but have reset now. Thanks. Will keep an eye on it.

Fabia 1.2 BMD about 55k on the clock IIRC. Driving around this morning the CEL came on. I've changed the o2 sensor not long ago as I was having a different CEL code come up before that. Did an autoscan and found this: Address 01: Engine Labels: Redir Fail! Part No: 03D 906 023 B Component: SIMOS91 1.2l 2V 1412 Revision: --H04--- Serial number: SKZ7Z0F3667429 Coding: 0000071 Shop #: WSC 13765 000 00000 VCID: 1D3655E4C714516E00-5160 1 Fault Found: 16555 - Fuel Trim; Bank 1 P0171 - 006 - System Too Lean Readiness: 0010 0000 I had a quick look and it points towards a potentially faulty/dirty map sensor? Any suggestions/advice welcome on if I'm right/wrong what it could be.

Introducing myself
+1 on the tensioner. Just do it because fixing it now is cheaper than your engine going bang!

MK2 FL TSI Octavia VRS (2010) Misfire issues
Hi, so I've got a 2010 VRS (petrol) with misfire issues (engine code CCZA). Breakdown: I've checked engine blocks whilst driving. Cyl 2 misfires under gentle accelleration when cold (as in - engine not at operating temp). NO EML I've swapped 2 and 3 coilpacks - still misfiring cyl 2 as above. New spark plugs were fitted a while back by an indie, but original coilpacks An injector (not sure which one) had a new seal applied to it whilst at the indie for my chain/turbo issues. Have been told compression looks fine on all cyclinders by above indie I've fitted new coilpacks (r8s) but the problem still persists. VCDS scan showed below error around evap. Thoughts on where to go from here?
