Poor wheels.

Thanks all, I did sand down the scrape and put some lacquer on. I may take that off again when I have more time and rub it down again and re paint and lacquer on in my garage with a warm wheel. The car lasted 4 months from new till this first incident, which was more than I expected.. Lol
Ps I have a crappy alloy repair kit, so when I do a proper job, I have protection in mind rather than looks. Is it worth putting silver paint on, or should I just stick to a lacquer coat? I'm wondering if the paint just adds another weakness.

Hello all.
My wife just kerbed the sport!
My question to you is, do you think the chunk out of the tyre is just cosmetic or has it weakened it in some way?
Thanks as always, Alex

Here is our Sport.

Is it the 'swing'
-
My polo and the rapid do it. I assume with all the emission rules and mpg these days, they set the power outputs to just enough to do the job. (I don't know if it's true as I, a non techie)

Oh go on then, but I shall want red leather trousers to match...

Good seat colour choice for white!

I have improved the swing sound by turning the bass right up, middle 3/4 down and treble to minus 2. Plus set loud on.
-
The start idle on my polo with the same engine seems to do this too now and then. Haven't noticed it on the sport yet though.

I find cleaning cars to be good exercise and therapeutic. I do ours every other week.

Our post office lady's think they own you. They make everything difficult with a sour face. I thought it was just our post office.
Anyway, revenge was served when they had a sewage breach a month ago and were closed for ages due to the stench. Lol

Mine came with Dunlops. I was disappointed as normally buy Continentals.

I have one of these for my dads Astra. Treat the felt top carefully, as I magaged to rip his open.
(I work at a manufacturing company and dry his in an oven at 70'C for a few days)
Item does a good job...

Our rapid Sport will cost us 8k to purchase.
I deducted the value of our old golf sale plus the cost of known servicing, warranty, MOT's and additional road tax over the next three years that the Golf would have cost. (All included with the new Skoda)
the Golf had problems too. I was planning to keep it for another three years, and had then planned to spend around 8k on a newer car.
What we have done is bring forward the new car for a bit of piece of mind for the next three years.
Does that make any sense ... Lol

Looks really nice

I agree with you. The sound in my VW Polo is 50% richer than our Rapid Sport. My Polo basically has the same stereo.
I have the bass set to full, loud is on and middle and treble is set to normal and it's still rubbish.
I was wondering if better speakers would help? Trouble is, I would not know where to start.

Have you got the headlight washer add on package. I think the sensor comes with that.

I hand painted mine with hammerite. (I think red and black were the only colours)

I like Rapido. I shall purchase a little chrome "o" for the back of ours. Lol

My first Skodas wind down windows didn't even have winders. (They had dropped off)

It's the swing

I hope someone will post a guide to replacing the chrome grill. Fingers crossed.

New car smell isn't what it used to be. It's all chemical smelly these days. More plastics and less wood I guess...
Tyre damage - is it just cosmetic
