  1. Thanks everyone so from what i can gather the CTHE is faster than the CAVE engine as standard ? just wondering how i find out what engine is in the car ill be looking at ? and does anyone have a TMC box on a CTHE ? what kind of gains are to be had ?
  2. Hey guys thought here would be the best place to voice my worries/question on the skoda fabia vrs i am about to purchase that i will shoot right into 1st question, I've done a lot of research on these cars and discovered that all cars 2011 downwards have a CAVE engine and all 2012 + have a CTHE engine's now off of what I've read CAVE engines are to be kept well clear off due to weaker pistons, longer spark plugs and a faulty water pump that seems to fail , am i right in thinking that the CTHE is a revised version of the CAVE will all the bumps and bruises sorted out and a uprated ECU? i ask this because the colour of car i want doesn't seem to be in production post 2011 which is really starting to annoy me First picture is the 2011 model VRS while the second picture is a 2014 model vrs i seem to notice a colour shade change? are skoda not using the standard red on post 2011 cars ? as i prefer the 2011 model 2nd question when i go into the dealership what kind of question would you recommend i ask, i was thinking oil consumption question's / spark plugs been changed to new spec plugs engine rebuild ? 3rd and final question is ECU related my friend at work just purchased a vrs on my merit that they where awesome (he's impressed) just wondering as he went to try and get it remapped and i told him these new ECU'S where security protected and couldn't be remapped which the remmapper found out the hard way after hours of messing around, in a nutshell I'm just wondering are these products really good - http://www.tmcmotorsport.com/TuningBoxDetails.aspx?SID=3264096874 ? and do they work on CTHE engines / ECU'S? and finally can the ECU tell that there is a tuning box in place and log data which in turn would void warranty ? any other tuning boxes that you think are good would be nice to be linked to also , thanks guys
  3. i would personally go with a TMC tuning box which isnt affiliated with the ECU and doesn't affect the ecu in any way and just take it out before each service and replace after service
  4. hi guys just wondering what are the best i.e loudest and most efficient induction filters for the 1.4 engines? and what are the best BOV'S you can get
  5. Hi Briskoda I'm just in the process of buying A VRS which one i buy is down to you guys!!! Im 21 years old in a pretty underpaid job and I've been saving for a good year now for one of these bad boys I'm just really worried about the oil consumption issues , engine issues , running poorly on anything less than 98 ron and the DSG and spark plugs failure so what is your experience with your VRS mk2? really as bad as the forums make out or is that just one in a bad bunch spoiling the whole crop? a friend of mine has the VRS mk1 SE the rare blue version and has his currently running at 270bhp with an uprated turbo and an abundance of other cool things and tells me the mk2's are riddled with issues and to get the diesel version the only problem i have is all the diesels have a extremely high mileage! so guys any input would be superb can these 1.4 engines take a remap/ tuning box?? would a tuning box void my warranty if taken out before every service? what kind of things do they allow before a void of warranty I'm talking induction filter dump valve tmc tuning box varex? so all in all thanks guys heres a few pics of the exact skoda I'm looking at
