sunshades edition 100
Hi, glad to hear it's still going strong. I had an Edition 100 a while back now and yes it did have a rear blind, it was a manual job to pull it up/down.

Once a week it does this
Turns out there was an intermittent fault on the lambda sensor which caused this.

Remote Central Locking
All doors display as open on the dash including boot/bonnet. I've scanned the car with OBD11 and it shows a fault with "control unit" when you try to go into that it says it's not responding, check ignition and try again. Have never been able to access it. Just wonder if whatever that 'unit' is, is dead? Would have expected other issues also though? Still need to check the wiring in the cable trunks.

Remote Central Locking
It does yes. This is the only way I can open the boot at the moment. I (think) I've located the module. Any idea's how this it removed from here? I can't see any housing holding it in

Remote Central Locking
Evening, the remote locking stopped working on the car today. No response from any of the buttons. Battery in the key is good and I've checked the fuse. Looking at previous posts would this be the convenience control module that needs replacing? If so is it easy enough to do or will it need coding to the car?

Suspension
That's really helpful thank you

Suspension
My Octavia seems to have a really soft suspension (probably the same for all). I tow quite a lot with mine and it sits really low when loaded, scraping most speed bumps as a result. Is there anything that I can change/add to help prevent it sitting so low?

Key
That's what they quoted me from one of their little shops on a Sainsbury's car park. They remove the electronics from the broken one and put in a new replica housing. Only difference is you wouldn't have the Skoda badge on it

Once a week it does this
- Once a week it does this
Hi, Once a week the car has started doing this. It will run just slightly under 1000 revs, when you move off from stationary it will kick out smoke, a mixture of greyish and a little blue. You can smell smoke in the car when it is running like this. It will do this whether the car is cold or warm. I've taken it to 2 separate garages to get the DPF cleaned. Both have said it does not need doing as the levels are quite low. One advised to change the glow plugs (which I've done). No warning lights on dash (did have the DPF light a couple of times last year which led me to believe it was linked to that) but cleared up after a run. This issue will clear after a bit of a consistent run (regularly on the motorway so no real issues). It's approaching 190k and pretty much on original everything (clutch, turbo, DPF etc). The last garage I took it to advised to put some Lucas oil stabilizer in on the next oil change. Car has a full service every year and runs on Shell V Power (If that makes any difference). No loss of power, can be very very slightly lumpy when it is doing what ever it is doing. Any ideas what is causing this. Suspect a sensor failing or something? No idea really. The garage that checked DPF with VCDS said there were no other indicators.- Bolero Radio Trim
Spot on mate thank you- Bolero Radio Trim
I've replaced my Columbus unit (that died) with one of these, have the same problem, the trim is too wide around the head unit. Did you just find your old one or did you buy one - if so where from/which part? Cheers.- Columbus power issues
Cheers for response. I'd read this also. Trying a local car audio repair to see if they can sort.- Columbus power issues
A common fault then..- Columbus power issues
Evening, over the last few weeks i've been getting intermittent problems with the head unit. Occasionally when i've been driving with the unit on, turn the ignition off, get back to the car and start it, the head unit doesn't boot up. There are also no lights illuminated so appears to have no power. By itself it will then power on. I've tried resetting it (when it's been powered on) which has made no difference. This has happened more frequently and It seems to have died now, been driving today for over 2 hours and it hasn't come on. Any ideas? Thought maybe fuse but surely that either works or doesn't? Pic of the unit below- Interior Lights
Sorted it, turns out I can't count..- Interior Lights
Hi, I decided to upgrade the interior lights to LEDs. All went well until i got to the boot. I changed the drivers side and noticed the new bulb did not illuminate. I then realised none of them were working so suspected a blown fuse. Checked the forum and found it's fuse 15 that needs changing. I also saw that this was listed as a 7.5 amp. On mine it had 15. I've tried both and still not working. I've replaced the bulbs back with originals but still nothing. Any ideas? Thanks.- Gear selector button broker
This thread may help- White fuel smelling misty smoke from engine bay
When my turbo went i had this whooshing sound when accelerating with cold engine, quickly followed by the engine management light. Once warmed up it seemed fine, just needed to stop the engine and start it again. I did try using turbo cleaner for a while - would put a bottle in when the tank was low and drive with high revs to try and clean it out. Worked for a bit but realistically you're just prolonging the inevitable . Think i paid around £620 for a Turbo (Fitted with new oil and feeds etc). Came with 2 yr warranty. Never had an issue with it then (until the gearbox died...)- Changing sidelights
Cheers guys for your help. Managed to change them today.- Changing sidelights
Evening all, Simple answer to this i'm sure.. I need to change the side lights on mk2 fl octavia. This has the xenon lights in - i've seen the videos on removing standard bulbs but not a guide on mine. Is it a similar process? From what i've seen the side light bulb is attached to a type of stork you just pull out? Is there anything i should be vary of removing this unit? Don't want this becoming expensive.- Air Con Compressor
That's helpful thanks, i know little about cars and wouldn't have a clue where to start with what you've mentioned, but certainly food for thought. Think i may take it to a more specialized place to see if it's any of the things you've mentioned. I did have it re-gassed prior to this, they were really helpful. After an hour of whatever they were doing told me it's not working, don't know what's wrong with it. Good old Kwik Fit.- Air Con Compressor
Yeah - £370 all in. - Once a week it does this
