  1. The air con has never worked on this car since i had it 2 years ago - bought it in the winter and didn't think to check... Had it checked out and confirmed that it needs a new compressor (common on these by all accounts..) Quoted £370 all in. Don't fancy paying that amount. Is it worth taking a chance on this you reckon? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114809129436?fits=Cars+Year%3A2012|Model%3AOctavia&hash=item1abb2849dc:g:j2UAAOSwNTxgnAxx
  2. I had this on mine - sprayed some contact cleaner down the indicator stork which fixed it
  3. Hi, Failing electrics (lights etc) usually points to water ingress I had the clicking from around the hazard light switch area - i sprayed compressed air down the gap in the indicator stalk which seemed to stop it. Didn't have the non working indicators though. Just the random clicking.
  4. It was both. Sounds like something expensive... would there not be an error thrown up on the dash?
  5. Thanks for your reply. I did the same test today doing what you suggested to slow/stop the car - which was easy to do so quite conclusive as to what the issue is. Rear brakes were pretty much cold. The front ones very hot - could feel the heat approaching them. Thought it could be engine heat initially but could barely touch them. Wonder what's causing this? Simple to fix? I'm not very mechanical 😁
  6. Think they could be sticking? It's always had a slight judder when breaking to a stop. No noises though.
  7. Evening all, I have 2012 Octavia 2.0 TDI L&G (FL). I've noticed recently noticed a loss in MPG, i've always been impressed with how high it was. I tested it this morning down the motorway. Purposely Set cruise low to around 65 mph. Normally it would easily achieve 60-70 MPG. It struggled to return 52/53. One thing I have noticed is that when you take your foot off the accelerator (still in gear) it slows down significantly , even when going down hill. No warnings on the dash, no noises, no loss of power. Just seems really strange. Any ideas? TIA.
  8. Might be the breaklight switch, happened on mine although it was the break lights that stayed on.
  9. I'm thinking of trying these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2X-FOR-SKODA-OCTAVIA-2008-On-ROOMSTER-2006-2010-18-WHITE-LED-NUMBER-PLATE-LAMPS/331735217102 - Looks like resistors are already fitted.
  10. How have you got on with these? Any errors at all ? I bought some "error free" ones which aren't.. Might get these.
  11. Have you got a link for these?
  12. Evening, anyone know if it's possible to change the daytime running bulbs (P2 i think?) to LED bulbs? Just want something a bit less 'yellow' . Something legal that doesn't throw any errors. Thanks. Octavia MK2 FL.
  13. Great car, I wish i still had mine.
  14. Evening, driving home on Friday had an awful burning smell in the car - wasn't sure if it was from outside. However after shutting down the engine and then starting it again i got the Oil Service Workshop on the dash (oil levels fine and recently changed). Along with that the reversing lights, parking sensors and dimming rear view mirror have also packed up. Assuming this could be a fuse that needs changing? I have changed the ones on the side of the dash - i read it could be fuse number 4 - 5a, this made no difference... Any guidance would be appreciated.
