Yes I did, gave it to my brother who is now using (and enjoying it) in a VW. If the over fueling (leading to extra black smoke) is really damaging my engine then that damage is ocurring now following my jabba re map as well. Both mods have caused similar amounts of extra smoke. When I collected my car I was told by jabba to expect the extra smoke as it was a "feature" of the re map. Now interestingly enough the previous car I had remapped was a JTD Punto (go on laugh) which was upped from 85 to 100hp using an upsolute chip fitted by Van Akken. The results were brilliant. Car far faster and smoother and NO extra smoke at all. Makes you think.

A lot of underrated oddball cars available. Nissan Sunny GTi or Primera eGT/sri. Do not forget that our Seat cousins were in to all sorts of Cupras/GTI's long enough ago to make them possible buys at your budget.

I have recently posted an apology on Briskoda for arguing my points in a less than well mannered fashion. I stand by that apology but have some reservations having seen recent posts. They seem to go something like this: first person posts an opinion, second person responds arguing against it, original person addresses the points made and re states their position, second person becomes rude because first person does not accept their views and whole thread becomes increasingly tense and nasty. Now I was told that, as a relatively infrequent poster, I might have misunderstood the "banter" used by regular posters and percieved issues that did not really exist. Leading me to get carried away. Having had time to reflect and look at a number of recent threads what I see amongst the majority reasonable good humoured contributers are some that are nowhere near as balanced and well mannered. The impression I get is that some regular contributors do not like it if their arguments are opposed and, rather than seeing it as a difference of opinion, see it as a personal affront. We then get comments inviting the posters of the offending thread to leave the site and go elsewhere or telling them that they should not have bothered posting on Briskoda in the first place. When we differ in our views there is an opportunity to debate. Why not value other peoples opinions even when we ouselves may argue contrary viewpoints. I see it more now, having had time to reflect on my own pervious contributions. Perhaps we need a general amnesty and an agreement to argue our cases (still robustly) in a good humored fashion from now on. Much nicer all round.

It is EXPENSIVE but how can it be OVERPRICED when the first batch have been sold out for months? Back to facts again, if it costs too much it will not sell... seems to be selling like hotcakes!

It is a fact that the new Golf is being praised widely. It is a fact that you do not praise it very highly. It is NOT a fact that the current Ockty VRS is a better car, that is the OPINION of Delac and his mate the VW salesman. Using the term "fact" repeatedly in a sentence does not actually make any of the claims true facts unless they have some provable sustance. "but that's just the way it appears to be to the majority of us" Here we are again, opinion dressed up as fact - from what I can tell "most" Briskodians have not had an opportunity to express their views. Perhaps the majority really admire the new Golf GTI. When new Ockty VRS comes out I may buy one. Or I may go Golf. Both will be very good, one will cost more but may be worth more second hand when time comes to sell. Difficult choice.

Ripped off compared to what? The next Ockty Vrs will be better value but that is not out yet. Current Ocky is a good car compared to previous Golf but not as good as new GTI which has far more sophisticted suspension layout, much more modern interior, better engine (almost zero turbo lag and gorgeous noise), 5 star NCAP crash rating...need I go on? Yes I have driven one, only 20 or so miles and it was new...still it was fabulous and so nothing like the one described earlier on this thread. "There are none so blind as those who wish not to see"

Iron out all the problems with the engine that THEY designed? Then put it in a car that is a re skin of the brilliant new floorpan that THEY created? The finished car that is then badged Skoda but is 90% VW. How terrible the vw designers and engineers are... how we are so glad that the skoda bodymakers..whoops...I mean engineers.. are so much better.

Nothong with L+V. Amazingly they have actually insured the value of the re pap for me. Get a percentage amount back if car is written off.
