  1. I did, I just sold it to my uncle and got my lupo GTI back as my daily. I was getting 62mpg average, however she did a fair few motorway miles and that is poo for them. At 70mph they only doing 58-59mpg whilst the 10 miles a road to work I could get computer upto 86mpg average for trip! They are better round town then motorway. The gap between a 500+bhp TT and a 67bhp SDI was too great. lol Mate never said anything about smell. Will tell him more likley wiring. Just sent him a email. I belive he cant just change ECU as you have to take clocks and barrels etc... all from same vechile, true?
  2. Ok mates VRS other night has managed to smoke from under the bonnet. Turned engine off and lifted bonnet and smoke from left hand side of engine. AA couldnt work it out, its at a skoda dealer now, but they cant get VAG com to talk to it and have guesssed a ECU gone f****ed and started smoking maybe. Any ideas? Anything common on these?   3. Sorry buddy I only have a SDI fabia. Howver all teh other VAG cars I have had and have that have xenons are simple levers like drivers side on yours. Id be amazed if passengers was any different.
  4. Take any bulbs, they dont check. Xenons come witha metal level each side to flick over to swap the dip when you get off ferry or train. Simple 2 min job
  5. Hi all My drivers side brake light stoped working, changed bulb and still not working. Went to play again to sort and now none work! I cant see anything Ive knocked and none of the 3 work now. I presume the switch is easy to change and on brake pedal? (I cant removed trim as at Mrs house without tools). Any common problems with them? Cheers Sheldon
  6. All sorted. I was being a blind plonker looking on back when number are on front. Wiring colours vary from fabia to fabia i found tho
  7. Anyone got any pics of how wires connect up front into ISO? Says pins 1 and 2 and 7 and 8. Yet I dont have even 4 spare holes and cant tell which is 1 and 2 or 7 and 8. Any ideas? Can I play educated guess?
  8. I have the guide that came with speakers and says pins 1 and 2 and pins 7 and 8. Im a little lost tho as they arnt numbered and there are 4 black pins to put wires in. Anyone got any pics that can show me where they need to go? My rear speakers have mids and tweeters all in one unit. (The bay special ones)
  9. Just about to fit mine (bay special) any advice on what to do and where to feed wires etc... I have a classic so no rear speakers. My mates comfort has speakers in rear, this correct?

  11. Not done any tests to prove but lecture at uni says you cant pull more than .9g under braking without slicks or downforce. (He used to work for prodrive so probally knows his stuff).

  13. The bottom of teh stork is the reset on mine and all VAG stuff I have owned. (Passat, Roco, golf, Fabia). Is the VRS different from my poverty SDI?
  14. Sorry However accidents involving 30g can still happen with no fatalities. (WRC crash the other day, split a cage but they both lived. Co driver walked away!) The force to split a WRC FIA cage would be imense and I dont expext you to make you seat mounting that strong. As long as it looks reasonable I wouldnt worry.
  15. I only have current mpg and average mpg. Is that right? I just cycle through on right level on end like all VAG stuff.
  16. F1 Fabia? Nice If you can pull 1g in a road car (No slicks) your doing very very very very well!
  17. My sdi seems to auto reset every day. Mine was showing 71.6mpg average last night
  18. KW is sure all will agree are far better built and TUV and some kits costing £1800 only have a year warrenty
  19. JOM £200 2 years is £100 a year AP £400 2 years is £200 a year Thats one way of looking at it. Tho Im sure teh AP's preform better. However the AP on TT's have had terrible propblems, just ask Awsome!
  20. JOM 2 year warrenty is defo worth it. Tho have no idea how they handle etc..
  21. Limit at combe when I was last there in Sept 2010 and according to website is 100dB
  22. We were going to do it ourselves, but got to taking shafts off and you need some stupid 12 point torx like bit.
  23. My sdi does same, I presumed it was characteristic of engine.
  24. Just had a LUK clutch put in mates SDI for £100 parts and a garge labour quote of £75! Its not as bad as people make out! LUK being the people that make OEM VAG clutches
