  1. And that fixed the issue? As i've heard that it always doesn't and your most likely to get another problem.
  2. Have you had any work done to yours or did you get the 1 in a million engine which didn't have an oilaholic in the engine?
  3. Just for visual reference, I went to check the oil level after work and this is the difference between me checking it on the day I topped it up: After: Mileage when topping up was 26162 miles and mileage when checking is 26582 which is a difference of 420. Is that a sign of excessive use or am i being crazy lol :p Also, my manual states 1 Ltr per 2000km which is 1242 miles so if in the next 420 or less miles the light comes on then it would be below that? This came from this manual:
  4. This is the page I used: http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/owners/recalls Not sure if there is an equivalent for New Zeland, it may redirect you based on your IP. Just got off the phone to VW and even though I mentioned all the work that is done to the Polo GTIs to sort the issue the "service advisor" couldn't say that this is what they do even though we are now in 2015 . So I am booked in for next Wednesday to drop the car off for a check...
  5. Thanks. I found a page where you can check your vechile reg to see if thete are any recalls and it says there are none outstanding so if anything my next port of call is VW to get the ball rolling.
  6. Not sure what this is sorry? What is this service campaign?
  7. I have heard from some people it has made an improvement but it depends on the engine I sapose. And whether or not VW do them for free is a different question. Do you know the part number for these revised jets by any chance?
  8. Hi all, Sorry to raise an old topic from the dead, did anyone here from the UK ever have the revised oil spray jets fitted?
  9. Thanks for the welcome. Thats what I thought. I am going to call them tomorrow and see what they say, I got this car as a replacement for a Mondeo which was causing me problems, don't want it to start all over again lol. I have a 3 year warranty with Warrantywise so I have some back up incase of a warranty claim.
  10. Hi new here! Now I have the 2011 Polo GTI (i know not a skoda) but I share the same engine. Has anyone here had ANY work done by VW/Skoda and it is either sorted or slowed down the issue? I've read that using 5w40 or 0w40 can be better for the car and that there are new oil jets that can be fitted? The reason being I topped up with oil back in april with 1 ltr of 5w30 castrol and since doing 370 miles the dipstick is at half....
