My Polo GTI does the same thing once you have started it up for the first time. It will do the usual of going to 1,100 revs then after half a minute start dropping. During that time the car judders slightly but can be felt in the cabin. I had new spark plugs fitted in January, the DENSO ones which were recommended and it has had a oil change in July.

vRS Mk. II 1.4 litre twincharger oil consumption issues

I use Shell Ultra Helix 5w40: http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-68976-shell-helix-ultra-5w-40-pure-plus-fully-synthetic-engine-oil-recommended-by-ferrari.aspx I bought the above 4L + 1 FREE 1L bottle with pouch. The pouch is handy as it has velcro so you can stick it to the inside of the boot so you always have 1L handy. Good oil, not caused me any problems. -
I used Shell Helix Ultra 5w40. Bought some for a interim service from Opiel Oils (i think) and they had 4L + 1 free 1L bottle and pouch for £28 delivered.

Skoda Fabia vRS/Monte - Drift/Pull To The Left Issue
Xeon5 replied to A9X SJ's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
I had some Uniroyal Rainsport 3's put on mine, they have to be the best tyre I have bought. Improved the control on the road. Also had a power steering fluid change recently. Worth doing to yours if it has been a few years. -

Hmm, interesting, I will have to get that checked. -
Skoda Fabia vRS/Monte - Drift/Pull To The Left Issue
Xeon5 replied to A9X SJ's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
My GTI seems to pull a bit as well, even when breaking. Tyres look fine and have plenty of meat on them. Could it be the calipers causing issues? -
Not that I have any experince with swapping an ECU but when I though I was having trouble with my Mondeo ST TDCi, i tried these guys: http://www.ecutesting.com/?gclid=CIWZ6-O9rMsCFVIaGwodJgoMDw Depending on the damage they can refurb the ECU and can be cheaper than buying a new one. Failing that you would have to get an ECU from the exact same spec of car (maybe one being scrapped) and find someone who can reprogram it.

As I own a Polo GTI I can say it is a cracking little car once the oil issues have been sorted. I do agree the boot isn't great but for me it is the perfect size as I don't really do massive weekly shops. It is a shame that VW don't do an Estate version of the Polo any more. -
Anyone here got the REVO filter? http://www.revotechnik.com/product-details/air-filter-intake-kits/replacement-air-filter-element-audi-a1-seat-ibiza-skoda-fabia-vw-polo-6r
-
Wow they are expensive lol! Thanks for that. It is a shame that VWR isn't considered an "ok" modifying company as I would like to put on the induction kit. Damn warranties never let you have any fun!
-
Hi all, Was just wondering if there is a tuning company for the VW/Skoda scene which is similar to Montune for Fords? In other words, are they warranty friendly and approved by VW?
-
Thanks for that. I believe a sports cat is legal as it still contains a catalytic converter within it? I maybe wrong.

vRS Mk. II 1.4 litre twincharger oil consumption issues

As mentioned above you should be fine so don't let it put you off as their great cars (even though i have the Polo equivalent). My advice is just to monitor it regularly and raise it as an issue you as soon as you you notice any serious drops. -
I will tomorrow or next week when I get the time. A VW Dealer did the replacement and they did do an update. So far so good, did just around 1000 miles with no drop but had a service since so just starting to monitor it again. For the service I had some Forte oil additive just to flush through the system and some Castrol 5w30 Titanium Edge so hopefully the usage will be more balanced and not drink it like this guy:
-
Pressures are fine, same two tyres since owning it. Only a service has been done. I will monitor it and see if it gets any worse as it could just be the road conditions. Maybe it just needs a good fluid change
-
Ill check. The trouble is it is a pain to get to and the cap is impossible to undo. I just went out and turned the wheel from side to side and notice an eletric type pump/mechanical noise, is this normal? You cant hear it from the cabin
-
If it gets worse i will have to take it too them. I did notice before the change but not as much as now, just feels like the steering is "skippy". I havent had the DSG thing and there is no paper work. How do you change the power assistance settings? Is it worth just changing the fluid as the car is 4 years old now
-
Hi all, My power steering lately feels a bit heavy but isnt making any noises. Does the vRS/GTi have power steering fluid? If so where is it located as i cant see it. There is something on the lower right of the engine bay with a green cap but not sure what that is. Tyres are fine as i checked the pressures so cant think what else it could be
-
Have you got the link to those exhaust parts you bought on ebay for £80? Would this fit the Polo GTI and is it legal?
-
They do one that looks similar to the VWR one for £59.99. Still debating on whether to get one or not..... What I would really like to get is a nice stainless steel exhaust system (Cobra, Scorpion, etc) but the misses would kill me!

vRS Mk. II 1.4 litre twincharger oil consumption issues
Xeon5 replied to vxh26's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Correct. And it does make a difference. Didnt drop for me in a 1000 miles however i have since had a service with free oil, new filters and some forte oil additive to run through the system. Plus i have fitted some decent DENSO spark plugs which have made a noticeable improvement. -
Got my GTI back from a service today. Word of warning, if you want the DENSO spark plugs then get them before the service or ask your garage if you know them well to get them in before. My mechanic had to get them directly from DENSO (PKJ20CR)!
