  1. I checked Haynes again. It says 5w-40/20w-50 .. Doesn't that mean I can use 10w-40 or am I to go buy 5w-40 lol
  2. 5? I'm sure Haynes says 10w-40 for the bbz? Yeah I thought about that, but I'm going to concentrate on getting the engine sorted first, got a mate coming over tomorrow to look it over, he said sounds like its cam position sensor? I'll get a picture in the morning.
  3. I have 5liters of 10w-40 and a new oil filter ready for a oil change when I have the time to do it, need to pick up a socket piece to get the filter off. My standard alloys (bad condition) strangely have aftermarket locking bolts on the wheels and haven't provided me with the socket for it (forgot to ask when buying the car), how do you recommend I get them off? I have a new set of locking nuts so they haven't got to come off in one piece. It's like 3 holes in a triangle shape on a circular bolt with a slip disk.
  4. As said before I'm considering an engine flush, but after a little research, hearing it can do more harm than good worried me. I'm now unsure whether to do a flush or not, I'm unsure if the car has been run on 98RON by previous owners, and I'm also unsure what oil has been used. Is it worth a shot or will I just uncover more problems doing so.
  5. Dude, I've already had the stuff in my eye too lol, not plesant. This looks fun and probably the most efficient way, fairly cheap to do, but I won't be doing it today lol. I've a feeling it's not fuel injector related my cylinder misfire problem.
  6. I have carb clear aerosol I believe it is? In a compressed can. How would I go about doing this?
  7. I got quoted about £120 for 4 new injectors, which i refuse to pay, is there anything I can flush through them or something, they don't look gunked up but just to make sure. Any other things I could try? I need VCDS lol, suppose they aren't cheap.
  8. I believe it's something to do with coolant? Comes from near the expansion tank and runs parallel to the fuel rail. Its just a bit of insulation tape lol.
  9. I've got error code 00819, would that be anything to do with removing the flap in my engine cover? Other DTC's: 00819 01598 01314 01316 16685
  10. I believe I've found the problem! Edit: Oh, fitted new o-rings too. How do i go about solving this problem? I presume electrical tape isnt an option somehow?
  11. How do I depressurize the fuel line? Will it say in my Haynes book or is there a guide on here somewhere? I've tried using the search function.
  12. Constant 750 idle now, been idling for 10 minute so far, some slight bogs and shakes but as expected with this engine anyway lol. Gonna leave it as long as I can before it starts to misfire, had the negative battery terminal off for a hour.
  13. What condition is the glovebox in? My handle has broken off and its all scratched up, previous owner didn't look after it well.
  14. No brainer really then - I'll get them ordered today.
  15. Nice, £6 for 10? Have these been tested? I mean, its quite a big difference from £40 for 8, and that's with a 15% discount lol.
  16. I got a spark plug socket set from halfrauds
  17. I could do, got to collect them tomorrow so my plans today are ruined lol, should've ordered them yesterday.
  18. Alright thanks. I'll have to look that up to find more information on it before I go pulling wires out of coil connectors. Just been on the phone to TPS and its £40 for 8 o-rings for injectors, are you required to replace these when replacing any injectors, even the old ones?
  19. I haven't I don't have access to a multi meter, I meant visually and I've felt along the wires for wear. I've checked the spark plugs and no cracks or damage.
  20. Thanks rum4mo, I'll get around to sorting the coolant sensor after I've done engine flush, oil change, new filter and rad weld and new coolant. I'm still to learn the location of the lambda sensor and what it actually does. Appreciate you jotting these thoughts, how would I go about resetting those ECU values down to several misfires, as I have 4 new coil packs and 4 new spark plugs, loom seems fine too.
  21. Oh yeah you're right, shouldn't be too tricky then. I'll let you know how it gets on tomorrow Edit: Now I understand your confusion about me asking about pullers!
  22. My main concern is when it comes to pulling the injectors out. I can't imagine they sit in there loosly, and id rather not break them off into the engine head lol. Any advice on this? Slow replies as of now, my shift begins now but I'll check back on my breaks to catch up
  23. Indeed but it may give me an insight to what else needs doing that I'm unaware of - its due this month and I'm getting worried about how expensive this is going to be. When I pulled up outside work I let it idle for a minute or two as I normally do when starting or stopping the engine, and it bogged once? Maybe just a single misfire, engine wasn't warm either was just hitting the 40/50 mark. I'm going to attempt to clean the injectors tomorrow providing I can gather enough information to feel confident enough to do it tomorrow. May go to TPS to get some o-rings as we know the 2nd one definitely needs replacing, is it a challenge to remove clean and replace these? Including the new rings, I don't want to take on a job I won't be able to complete and be left car-less.
  24. I start work at 4 until 10/11 tonight, so I've got tomorrow morning until 4 again to do as much as I can. May get it taken for an MOT, but with the persistent misfiring I don't know if they'll be able to accurately tell me what it's failing on. Especially regards to emissions etc.
  25. Could be a case, surely a continuity test would check the resistance, if the cable is more damaged itd show up on the test wouldn't it? I really do appreciate your guys time and patience.
