How much do you think being the second owner devalues the car ? Sent from my ONE A2003 using Tapatalk

I have a small dent in my door caused by me opening it into my gate [emoji19]. Its only visable when the cars clean but I'd like to get it fixed. Have any of you tried a mobile dent away type or should I take it into a proper body shop? Thanks in advance Sent from my ONE A2003 using Tapatalk

I decided to run down a winter set of star performers tyres with about 4mm left one spring. They lasted all summer and felt fine. If I was planning to do this is get all seasons however Sent from my ONE A2003 using Tapatalk

Me too. The deals I've seen at Simpsons Skoda appear to be too good to be true. My Yeti is only 18 months old so its a bit new to be getting rid of it but I am worried about the VW groups future ( I did buy a Saab just before they went bust) and I'm wonder if taking a financial hit now is worth it. The thought of driving a higher spec Yeti is appealing as well.

I got some maypole ones from Amazon and they seem fine Sent from my ONE A2003 using Tapatalk

If I'm in an enclosed space with the widow open I can hear d being selected and it shift gear. Normal driving I can't. It's probably nothing to worry about but its probably best to get it checked out Sent from my ONE A2003 using Tapatalk

From an visual point of view to close the huge wheel arch gap have you thought about larger wheels. IMO I think the yeti looks under wheeled

Badly Corroded Yeti rear brake discs - is this normal ?

A mk2 golf 1.8 synchro weighs less than 1100kg. A Yeti is about 1400kg -
My 1.2 was fine fully loaded with roof box on a camping trip in North Yorkshire. It was reving a bit more on the 25% hills but hardly struggling. When I bought mine I probably would have got a diesel however if it was available with the dsg gearbox in SE spec. That was before dieselgate however!

I wonder how the new 1.4 compares
-
Mine does 37 mpg average over in 20K. My driving is mainly stop start town. My old 2.0 tdi did 40mpg in comparison. I too was disappointed but it's only costing me £5/week more in fuel where depreciation is £50 a week so I ignore it and enjoy driving it.
-
The 1.2 is fine on motorways and relaxed at about 2200 rpm at 70mph. It not as economical as the diesels but is quieter and smoother. The 2.0 tdi will be faster and a more fun car to drive but the 1.2 is by no means hard to live with and is nearly 20% cheaper. I use my phone for sat nav which goes in a cradle on the A pillar. It works very well has voice command and live traffic updates its also in my eye line and I can comfortably reach it with my right hand to programme. Personally I would only lease a diesel at the moment until the dieselgate situation settles down when it will be easier to make an informed decision. Whichever option you for Id be tempted to explore the option of the dealer changing over the tyres to an all season one because its silly having a yeti which cant go in the snow

I love diesel cars but they are beginning to be portraid as dirty polluters and manufacturers seem to be struggling to meat the NOX requirements which are being imposed on them. Electric cars have to be the future because it is a technology which works now it's just the price which is wrong but it is constantly dropping. As for the power stations being able to cope the amount of electricity used to make the fuel required to drive a car a mile is similar to the amount of electricity to drive an electric car a mile.

When the car is statationary in D with the foot brake pressed and no accelerator both clutches disengage the car is in neutral. As soon as you press the accelerator or release the brake one if the clutches engages. If you have the handbrake on and D selected the car will try and move wearing the clutch for a bit before it gives up after about 5 seconds. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

I see your point, but a hailo car in the range even if they don't sell would increasing desirability. I totally agree that there does not seem to be a point making the VAG SUVs similar. Skodas strengths appear to be clever design and value but uniquely (to my eyes) with Yeti was great design which may be missing with the next one

What do people want to see in a new yet? Thinking about this has made me think how good the current Yeti is. I'd like to buy a similar size to the current yet but with a 2wd diesel auto, but I'd like to see a 200bhp + Yeti in the range

Suddenly the ssangyong korandos is more attractive. I hope that they can keep some of the character which makes the Yeti so good. I'll reserve judgement until I see the big Suv however
-
I bought a outdoor because they are more popular hoping this would mean it would be easier to shift when I decide to change. I do like the look of the montecarlo however

I think the two toothed timing belts are one on the front of the engine for the exhaust cam and one on the back for the inlet cam. I guess this lessens the load on the toothed belt leading to greater life but could be completely wrong. It's a good job that the will last the life of the engine because replacing two toothed belts every 40k could be expensive.

So stop with the foot brake put the car in park making the reverse light come on momentarily as you go past reverse put the hand brake on until you can go then put the foot brake on release the hand brake put the car in drive making the revering lights flash again and release the brake and set off or Stop with the foot brake wait until you can go and take your foot of the brake

The display on my yeti 1.2 is only 3% optimistic. My old A3 2.0 TDI was 20% optimistic. Is the display in petrol cars more accurate? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

That's a great improvement. There are a few differences in the engine i.e. the new one is a 16 valve cambelt engine with the turbo on the back (I think) the old one is a 8 valve cam chain engine with the turbo on the front
-
You will be fine, all timing chain and DSG problems are well sorted out now unlike the new ZF 9 speed auto used in virtually every other makes cars

The Menu pricing is only for cars over 3 years old. They can charge more for newer ones!
