Engine revs without foot on accelarator

Seems a bit of gamble if you are "lucky" or NOT ? Odds are stacked against you if its a MANUAL gear box then ? -
Engine revs without foot on accelarator
BACUPIAN replied to BigKev2's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
In reading this topic on the "ill running " problems on the 1.5 tsi engine, beginning to think if I should cancel the order on [build wk 48] Octavia, is a fix it in the Skoda pipe line or is likely to be frequent visits to the dealer ? The 1.4 tsi was NOT an on offer due to me wanting "factory options"...........keep the 1.2 tsi Rapid ????Manual gear box -
Warranty repair and courtesy car
BACUPIAN replied to Nozzmaster's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
While the Rapid is in for accident damage , the [paid for] hire car is a Renault Captur ...lets just say I would NOT buy one ! -
Deal done for an Octavia.. the £2500 Skoda contribution & 2 yrs servicing £279 , "reasonable" p/x & loyalty bonus discount, ALL added up to an "acceptable" deal....factory options added , just need to get rid of the Captur & ride around in the Rapid, until E.T.A of Octavia in January !!
-
Thanks for "possible" good news, but have resigned myself for the "long wait"...might be the biggest Christmas present ever !!
-
Sorry, I should have stated 1.5 tsi SEL Hatchback & NOT the estate...going to take the query up with the dealer...just to be clear ! Thanks for all your replies. It seems this[£95] option enables you to lower backrest from the rear [tailgate] area of car...& yes you can still lower backrest via rear doors ...all sorted & NOW about to finalise my options list for the [ALREADY] ordered car .
-
Still no date for the "part" from Skoda...in the mean time I have ordered a Octavia 1.5 tsi SEL [with options] wk build 48 . E.T.A. Jan 19, so while the repair is in hand? Iam running around in a [paid for] hire car a Renault Captur & NO I wouldn't recommend one !!!

I waited some 18wks for a factory options mk3 Fabia & that was long enough ,but its worth it , when it does EVENTUALLY arrive...oh that NEW car smell theres nothing quite like it is there ?
-
Placed my order for Octavia 1.5 tsi SEL with some factory options quoted wk 48 & delivery mid January...the wait begins !!!

On ordering a my19 Octavia noticed rear back rest release £95....it the past to lower the back seats was ALWAYS a standard fitment, now only standard on L&K versions...Skoda penny pinching again ? Any one else ordered a NEW Octavia aware of this ? Oh & week build 48 & estimated January delivery !
-
Trading in the Rapid for a Octavia SEL 1.5 TSI....WK 48! ...........YET TO COMFIRM my "factory fitted" options...& have noticed ...rear back rest release £95...all my other cars that feature was always already a fitted feature & now only comes on the L&K models only ! Skoda penny pinching or not? Any comments ?
-
Having NEVER had any motoring accident in nearly 40 years... all this is new to me & I REALLY DO appreciate all the information/comments/suggestions to all concerned ! Thank You...of interest an Octavia with factory options 1.5 tsi SEL week 47[minimum] build week.
-
Accident damage now been "approved" & " some part " on back order & due....when it arrives !!! from Skoda factory....seriously thinking about the latest deals on a "new Octavia 1.5 tsi SEL " WITH some factory extras " earliest build date week 48 !

Now this WILL be interesting...yesterday[sat] on approaching a roundabout a car detached itself from its car and was heading for a head on collision on me swerving my drivers door took all the impact ! Thankfully NO serious injuries ! On retrival at a garage was told if the "shutpillar" is damaged probably will be a right off [subject to full inspection Monday] On being offered £ [last week]7500-£7750 as p/x ...its NOT looking good for a settlement payment with NO consideration for any "factory fitted" options taken into account, NEVER had a motor accident in 47years so this insurance mallarky WILL be an experience if nothing else & its going to cost us no doubt ?

On "thinking" of trading to Karoq found my "nearly" 2 yr old Black,1.2[110] tsi SEL with "desirable" factory fitted options was valued at OVER 55% of the list price = some £9000 lost, thankfully I didn't pay list price ,but its still a massive hit when the car your thinking of buying is £26500 ish? I have visited 3 separate dealers & there was a variation of just £250 ! Seriously thinking IF? I do change it will be with another manufacturer & Skoda & "value for money" slogan must only apply to when you buy new? I suppose other models/variations will not depreciate in value like a RAPID any comments ?

With over 50 yrs on bikes & almost the same with cars ...found dealers have only ? so much in profit margins & its worth negotiating for add ons /accessories / clothing /servicings etc , as for goretex gear , in the long long term I have money wise it works out cheaper & I tend to be more comfortable on the bike & do try on different makes styles & sizes . You need to decide bikes & cars what style/type you prefer & test ride/drive the various makes BEFORE parting with any money ! & YOU MAKE THE FINAL DECISION !!

Tested a Tracer 900 GT.........price to change ..keeping the 700 & maybe Yamaha will bring out a 700 GT version ?
-
Although now happy enough with the "KITTED OUT TO MY LIKING" 700 Tracer, tested [3hrs] the Tracer 900 GT , very impressed with the "improvements" but the small icons/symbols on the dash were [for me] difficult to read....but £10,670 is far more than I am prepared to pay for ( any ) bike the "standard" version is ok ish ? but the GT for all the extra additions does seem to be better value......wondering if Yamaha will do a 700 Tracer GT ??

I fitted a set to the mk3 Fabia..clips just about o.k. ...on getting the Rapid fitted a set & the clips were next to useless ! Do keep the windows closed for at least 24 hrs & another thing for what the extra cost would be to include another 4 clips, MIGHT be to every ones advantage !
