Mark 4FL High Beam Assist
Maybe there were some spares left over in the parts bin and they just popped them on? In all seriousness though, tech or options advertised in the brochure or spoken about by selling dealer doesn't always match what car you end up with. If you've got more than you thought, this is probably a good thing!

Waiting for Delivery
Forgot to add. If selling via motorway, don't bother taking any good pictures beforehand, as you have to take them using their platform (probably to stop you editing photos). Mine was on sale on a Sunday, sold straight away for a good price, then guy collected it with no knocking down of price paid a few days later. Good luck with the sale!

Waiting for Delivery
I had a recent good experience selling via motorway. However you sell, definitely call Skoda finance to get the settlement statement. You can request this via the online portal thing but it takes a few weeks, where calling them you'll have it your inbox in minutes

Nice one @BazGee! Happy birthday present to yourself then innit. I also had a message to say mine will be delivered next Tuesday, so exciting times all round

Waiting for Delivery
Previously had PCP, this will be my first lease, with Arbury. There were some very good deals a month or so ago wasn't there. Ordered hyper green 💚 also with no options. It comes with loads anyway, although I will miss DCC I had on previous cars. I ordered some new car wash bits too, proper looking forward to giving it a detail and drive

Waiting for Delivery
Good choice @BazGee! I'd given an update on my delivery in the other vRS thread here, but will repeat the same here: had an email on Thursday to say it's been shipped, and will be delivered to me early/mid-January. I'm also leasing, and ordered a car that had already been built. Also with the very clear message from supplying dealer that car has to be registered before 31st December. This is my 4th vRS and well invested in the hype train 🚂 From reading other car make forums (please take with a pinch of salt), when cars arrive at Emden they are handed over from Skoda (or whoever) to the distribution companies that manage the ports and shipping firms. Due to the shear amount of vehicles landing in Emden everyday, this can lead to chaos: my car sat there since early November until today, but also know that other vRS orders had arrived after this and shipped to UK (when dealer checked why it was delayed, Skoda kind of said we don't know and can't give an ETA). Estimated delivery times seem to be way more accurate once it lands in the UK (when it comes back into care if Skoda/whoever). Typing this message out on mobile so can't get links at the mo, but if you Google KESS shipping company you can easily find the shipping itinerary and see which ships are due in and when. There are other KESS ships that ship to the UK not on the most recent itinerary, such as (I think) Danube Highway. There are several marine traffic apps/websites you can geek out to check on shopping traffic. I'm also driving my partners car, although I always love that car as it drives like a go-cart (old mini cooper s clubman). However, we've had to turn a week-long Christmas trip to in-laws into a train ride home for me and the kids, and partner drive back with the mini full of Santa's stuff🎅

Kessy system, engine not starting
Left hand pocket might be worth a shout, I always worry I'll leave my keys in the holder thing in the middle and be locked out the car! We're creatures of habit though aren't we (always had car keys in my left pocket)

Delivery times?
Ooh that's good news. I also had an email today saying car had been shipped, likely heading to Grimsby. Due to Christmas break and whatever else, it's likely early to mid-January for me for delivery. Similar circumstance to you @markgto, my car has to be registered by December 31st and did all the finance paperwork a week or so ago. Exciting times though man! 🚢

Kessy system, engine not starting
Correct, but the sensor thing for ignition may not have sensed your key(different system to unlocking the car). Sorry I don't have the handbook to hand to screenshot where that sensor is, but I have a feeling it's near the centre console/gear stick/gear selector. Do you drive a right hand car, and was the key in your right hand pocket? Phone in there too?

Delivery times?
My vRS was built and transported to Emden in early November, and is still there. Not clear as to why, apart from most recent message saying there are delays with shipping and shipping company/Skoda can't give an ETA on when car might arrive. It seems other orders came in after mine have already been shipped and received. I've read rumours on other forums of the sometimes chaos at port, where a the shear amount of vehicles coming in and shipping out goes a bit wrong. Interestingly, I'd asked the the lease company I'd ordered from what they thought about the EV mandate stuff@markgto , and he was of the opinion that Skoda and VW weren't holding back non-EV cars, and we're in fact pushing for registration/delivery of petrol cars 🤷♂️

DSG, P, brake and acceleration pedal
I've found this thread quite informative, as similar to @PavelPavel experience I've never driven an auto of any kind. As my new car has been delayed, I had also delayed the last minute/day before google of "how to drive a DSG"

Octavia vRS FL first impressions
Ooh great stuff! Nice that the ability to knock functions off is quick and easy, and to hear that there's no pumped in sound/noisy rattle box under the dash. Look forward to Friday pictures

VRS prices apparently released
My car has been delayed, been sitting in Emden port for just over a month now. A fair bit longer than the estimated time shared by lease company (14ish days max), and Skoda suggest they are experiencing delays with transport but no clear reason why. Delivery in New Year will mean I have the time to give it a proper detail. Post an update of yours @Gingernick70 when you collect it!

My verdict is still out on the aero wheel things; I'll see how I feel about them when it arrives and it looks like an easy job. @GrumpyOldGit sounds like your build date is first week after factory shutdown, so it might be transported fairly quickly to the docks. Sometimes they can sit at the docks for a while however, and you can't really get updates until it's been assigned to a ship; after that however, you should then get a fairly good estimate on when your car can be handed over to you

Ooh ja, looks a beaut! Let us know what it's like

A ship (Thames Highway) is currently docked in Grimsby, due back in Emden tomorrow morning; could be that @JGee! 🚢 https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:376403/mmsi:311996000/imo:9316294/vessel:THAMES_HIGHWAY

Problem with soundaktor in octavia 4 Facelift RS
We've got one UK car mag saying no pumped in sound, one UK mag saying it has but it's less prominent, Irish cars having no pumped in sound, no mention of pumped in sound of any of the car review videos on Isle of Man but several references to the exhaust, and Skoda UK saying there is one adding to an 'orchestra,' along with the brochure saying it has one. Some of those things (looking at you brochure/Skoda UK) have been wrong in the past about what is included or not for the variety of different markets, and on multiple iterations of MK3 onwards (I don't know before MK3, as I've only purchased cars from MK3 onwards); UK folk who use the forum will hopefully find out within the next couple of weeks when delivers land. Like @TheUltraRunner suggests, he may have the best of both worlds; have a car he likes and pay for a good exhaust system to be fitted (whilst turning off the tinny noise box)

Exciting times then @Gingernick70! Hopefully not too long UK end for you to wait

Waiting for Delivery
Hopefully it's not too much more of a wait for you then @JGee! This is my 4th vRS ordered from new, and info can appear a little vague until your car has a ship assigned. A lot of the VAG type transporters tend to end in the name Highway; e.g. Thames Highway, Elbe Highway, Schelde Highway (which left Grimsby this morning). It can be addictive look at random boats and guessing which one your car might be on! We sold our previous vRS last week as the prices being paid was too much to pass on, now hoping there isn't too long to wait as doing Christmas/family trips/kids sporting activities in a 16 year old mini cooper S isn't always ideal!

Waiting for Delivery
Hi @JGee Good choice on your first Skoda! There is a mega thread regarding delivery times, but I don't think it's been active for a while: I am also waiting on an order, with my car sat in Emden for roughly the last week or so (also likely aiming for Grimsby). There are probably too many variables to give you an accurate prediction whilst your car is chilling with mine at Emden; there is a lot of cars there being shipped out across the world (have a look on Google map view if you haven't already). Once assigned a ship, it will probably be a lot more predictable from then onwards. I'm getting a lease this time around, with the lease guy suggesting mid-December for delivery. The time quoted by your dealer sounds pretty quick tbh; 3 weeks from order to you collecting feels a bit unheard of, unless it's a cancelled order.

👀 Looks like they are called vega: https://skoda-acc.com/Original, Skoda, Octavia, IV, 18, R18, alloy, wheel, VEGA, 5E3071498F, FL8, 5E3071498FFL8

Wheels
🤷♂️ most of the time they will be covered in road grime and not black and shiny. Personally, I think they're fine and wouldn't class them as chav-spec

PS: if selling via motorway, don't bother taking really good photos beforehand. You have to use their app to take photos and can't upload your own. I think the app disables any fancy camera software/post processing stuff, which I can understand. Good luck with any sale, second prices are strong at the moment (but might slow down closer to Christmas we get)

VRS prices apparently released
I just sold via motorway yesterday, pretty smooth experience tbh. Similar to you @BNB90 but owed a little less, got 7300 after paying off finance. No reduction in what they paid out when a guy came to collect, just take good photos and list any damage. One thing was a bit faffy though was the settlement statement: if you are planning to sell, CALL SKODA FINANCE and get them to email it to you, as that's immediate. If you request it via the website, it takes ages (mine took 3 weeks). I asked about why it takes so long when I spoke with them, where the answer was: it just does. Current order of hyper green vRS has been sitting at Emden docks for a few days, waiting to be assigned a ship.
