  1. I have a Mk4.5 vRS in the UK, so feel able to comment. When your car arrives it should come with one tablet holder. I bought two (as have two kids) and I don't tend to trust the brochure, but car came with one so need to sell the other one). It also came with boot nets and those velcro stick down things for the boot. Also, the airbag in mine has the older style logo, but finished in matt rather than gloss. They might be phasing out the older style however. Good choice of car, it's lovely!
  2. If you carry those key pouches around with you, they definitely wear out fairly quickly (I've some reviews suggesting 6 months). If popped on a shelf or something, should be fine. I bought 3 new ones recently, didn't fancy taking a risk for only 8 quid a pack
  3. I understand the comments about the MK4 heating/Aircon being a bit odd; if it's really hot outside and the you pop the Aircon on and temp to 17-19 degrees it's fine. Any other temp it just appeared fairly random in 3 years of ownership. MK4.5 clima control appears to work a lot better. And I think the seats warm up faster
  4. I have a 3 week old UK spec estate (combi), and UK shipped cars no longer have the halfway auto-retracteble boot cover. Previous cars did however. Not sure how a raised boot floor (a minor physical thing) can alter or affect the electrics involved 🤷‍♂️
  5. Gotcha! My partner drives a mini and is fine with the size of the Octavia
  6. Space wise in this vehicle class, it's hard to beat. I know Mercedes E class estate is a bigger load lugger, but this is a class above the Octavia (and reflected in price), and if it's pops and bangs you want you'd probably have to get one of the older AMG versions (E43/63). Yes it doesn't sound like a boxster, V6 or V12 when you rev it, but it does I think have enough character when comparing to others similar cars
  7. Yeah, same: the digital certificate that I can see has the service history etc in first page or so, but if you scroll down there are further pages listed with all the bits the car comes with in pages 3 to 5
  8. Do what @Dr.D suggests, easy peasy way of getting spec sheet!
  9. No idea then man! Have you tried factory resetting the infotainment, see if that works? Sounds like you've gone through the process already on the app, but maybe it's the car with the issue, not talking to the server properly
  10. Do you have all sets of keys with you when in the car, trying to log in?
  11. I really like camping, and a supportive partner who lets me run away for a night every six weeks or so (better for me than antidepressants). Just need a bigger fire in winter, and a thick wooly cardigan from army surplus shop. Staying out in a hot tent tonight (tent with a small wood burner in it), and maybe a couple of drinks later Only managed 150 miles in the car so far, so very much running in period
  12. Really struggled to get a picture of it clean, so instead I've taken a quick couple of pics when the sun just popped out, whilst away camping for the night 🏕️ it's an awesome car
  13. It does look like a fair amount of moisture in there @cjgreaves41, still in warranty?
  14. It's fairly common tbh, in Octavia and other brands. If it goes away (usually when it's warmer), then it's fine. If it's sloshing about with fish in 🐠, probably time to get it sorted. I've tended to notice it towards evening time, when the temperature drops; them getting in it next day it's gone
  15. You could add a split fuse thing (sorry I can't remember the proper name) to something like the rear wiper fuse which is only live when the ignition is on. Issue I guess with that would be running the power wire under trim pieces across the top of A, B and C pillar without fouling the curtain airbags, then down the back of the seats and into the boot. I'm sure it's been done before, if you have a go at using the forum search function, there's quite often helpful walkthrough guides usually available
  16. Is it clean enough for photos? Do you have two brollies? Why do we have 3 keys?! These are the important questions
  17. Yeah, definitely Ireland should be your go to. As far ordering in UK at the mo, the alcantara/sueda and memory seats isn't an available option. In fact, on my new MK4.5 that was delivered yesterday which replaced a MK4, they have also totally removed the alcantara/sueda from the dash and door trims too; which I quite liked to be honest.
  18. Ooh, I didn't think to check the length of the cord. Like you @SkOmk4, all previous ones used/seen have plenty of wire (and are often tricky to wind back up neatly). I haven't had the pleasure of driving in France, but defo sounds nice if it has all those miles of stress free driving @BazGee. Most of my next trips out with the car are to basketball/football training or matches for the kids,
  19. Paintwork feels like it doesn't have anything on it to protect it, so will defo be detailing it at weekend. Just took youngest out in it, and although respectful of the first 1000 miles gave it a little kickdown; it makes noises! Haha, still smiling now. Vroom-brap-brap-burble 1500 mile run is defo enough of a drive to get used to it and for it to sort itself out! Tiny bit jealous, hope you guys have a good time
  20. nEw cAr DaY! It's a beaut, only managed to take it for a 13 mile drive. It's filthy already, but that's the time of year (and maybe having brightly coloured car). It did take me a few minutes or sort my feet out, and I did accidentally use my left foot for breaking twice when taking it off my driveway and down the road. Mine has Bridgestone potenzas again 🤷‍♂️
  21. Ooh, looking forward to possibility of a different tyre then (previous two came with bridgestone potenza)
  22. I've gone grey, black, grey to hyper green 💚
  23. As Steve suggests, really double and double check again that the software is updated. A friend of mine bought a 70/71 plate last summer from a main dealer, and it was plagued with software issues that only now are being resolved by replacing the head unit and probably another control unit or two. Hopefully not all dealers are the same too!
  24. Helloooo Myra 🤩 she's a beaut!
  25. I can understand your excitement @BazGee! I am also fully invested in the hype train, with delivery coming next Tuesday. Same day as having boiler replaced and meant to be working from home all-day...might be one of those days that the internet goes down or laptop might break hey, ha. Upload pictures when you can @BazGee
