Colour you would like but can't have.
Aarond replied to TheWanderer's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk IV (2020 > )
That is definitely green! If the Octavia came with Rallye green again or nicked the Superb Dragon I would have picked them (much to my partners displeasure). I kind of like the mamba green that @TheUltraRunner shared too. The orange I like the look of is this orange ST, Which kind of reminds me a little of solero lollies: -
I just had update from the dealer: build week 26 (end of June), ordered 16th Feb for a meteor grey vRS TSI estate, just with DCC. Quoted delay is due to the rona. I really like my current vRS and still have enough left of PCP without extending it probably, but will need to be patient for another month or two now!

GREEN! proper in yo face green, or maybe an orange -
The wires are also quite fine, but you'd probably be able to tell as close up as your photo there. Might not have a heated windscreen

Just purchased but I miss anti fog lamps
Aarond replied to Alphonse777's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk IV (2020 > )
It is tricky @Alphonse777, as usually through the lifetime of a model being out the configurator may change several times. For example, I've just ordered a vRS and I know when it first came out that it had a heating steering wheel as (free) standard to the UK market, but when I ordered it last week I understand this is no longer a standard/free thing and is part of a cost option. I have this knowledge from this forum and a Facebook group, not the dealership (not bothered about hot steering wheels by the way). I understand your frustration @Alphonse777 -
Just placed an order after being swayed back

I'm not 100% sure, but does it depend on whether or not the factory has gone ahead and accepted your order and popped it in a planned work tray (so amendments might be tricky)? I had an email from Skoda today to say they have accepted my order (made 16/02/21) and for meteor grey, not black (have black now, very nice but hard to keep clean like all black cars). -
Ordered a vRS earlier this week (manual, only extra was DCC) and dealer suggested end of May or beginning of June. I guess there are a number of variables that affect manufacturing and delivery...hoping that everything can happen as quick as possible, but also expecting a long wait!

Awesome link and find there, I now know what radiator flaps do!

Skoda Octavia Combi - LED Condense

I've had a MK3 and a MK3 FL, both have experienced small amounts of moisture in light units at times. I wouldn't worry about it -
Initial chat with dealership suggested they had what I wanted in port (meteor grey vRS, manual with DCC only add on) but on finalising deal it has to be a factory order now (UK); with suggested lead time of 12/13 weeks. Roll on the summer months for more reasons! Looking at the order sheet, it looks like memory seats are no longer a thing for the vRS, but they keep the heated seat option.

I also rate those royal rascals seat covers, tends to collect most crumbs (unless the kids are eating rice cakes) and seems to protect the seats from booster seat/heavy toddler seat marks. I'd prefer no children eating in the car, but this is likely unavoidable

Aukey dual dashcam, front is hidden like other posters and same for the rear. I think it looks better hidden and it's probably safer than smack in the middle of your eye line

Never thought this be the last drive

Android Auto / Smartlink is driving me nuts!
Aarond replied to Bigroomboy's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Something does need checking out if the date keeps getting reset to 2038. I've been using android auto every journey for 3 years and I think it's brilliant; Google maps is good with traffic updates, Spotify, acast, audible, iPlayer radio work fine and the ability to use voice commands/voice for maps/voice for text messages/WhatsApp is mostly good. Wouldn't have a car without it now! -
FL estate back door gas struts
Aarond replied to Stonker's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Yeah, my old 16 plate vRS estate boot used to do it but like others have said, only when left open such as when camping- 7 replies

Mirrorlink is a bit...janky looking. As the name suggests, it mirrors your phone onto your infotainment screen. If you have an android phone SmartLink uses android auto (I use it every day, and it's great for Spotify, Google maps, voice text), or if you have an iPhone SmartLink uses apple car play; which is kind of similar but I don't think Google apps work with it Edit: sorry, just to be clear, cars that come with SmartLink also have mirrorlink (which is a bit pants in comparison)
-
Also just collected a 55", went in the boot okay (estate) but don't think there was a lot of room left
-
Brilliant, glad it was a simple fix of taking a cover off and bending some bits!
-
Still under warranty, so just popped it in. But yes, they removed the box of gadgets behind the rearview mirror
-
My auto wipers also stopped working a few months ago and the sensor and dropped a bit, so it stopped detecting rain impact on screen. I don't think it would show on VCDS if you have this problem? Not sure though
-
Yeah, it might be two plus two equals five. I lost all my coolant somehow about 4 months ago (MY15); topped it up and all fine. I asked the VW tech man why it dropped so much and he was a bit meh, they just do, just keep an eye on it

It may not be the answer you're looking for, but it might worth seeing whether SmartLink can be retrofitted at your local Skoda garage. You'll then be able to use an android phone to use car play (Google maps/Spotify/Audible/WhatsApp/music on your device) or Apple's carplay (Apple maps/music on your device/and I think Spotify too? Not sure). I think it costs around £150 in England. It's probably worth checking out before going down changing the headunit. I have a 16 plate vrs and SmartLink is great for my needs.
