Weird clicking/popping sound O4, vRS Estate Petrol DSG
Ooh well, at least you may know what the issue is now. Hopefully clicking Boise's don't annoy you too much (I don't)!

Weird clicking/popping sound O4, vRS Estate Petrol DSG
Whatever it is, it sounds like it's occuring pretty close to your dashcam. Not encountered your error before, but have you had any issues with your SOS function?

Potential new Octavia SEL iV owner but concerned
Beaut of a second car there @MiniNinjaRob! I also share the love for estates, just so versatile (not long returned from a tip run with it full to the top). Edit: ours is six weeks old, a couple of gremlins but now all sorted and fine

More infotainment troubles
I doubt it's to do with your Samsung phone @JWSkoda, it's likely all the different bits of tech inside the car not working well together. I had the SOS warning on constantly when I picked up the car, taking out a couple of fuses (19 and 30) for over 10 minutes has cleared the error entirely. Other folk with other issues have also disconnected the battery for a bit and this seems to have cleared the errors.

3rd Software Update done! Fixed
Another such thread, other similar threads on the forum with SOS glitches etc: https://www.seatcupra.net/forums/threads/formentor-system-errors.464758/

3rd Software Update done! Fixed
Just driven and realised (like a plonker) that instead of the mode selection, I've only ever seen the airbag warning light instead! There's enough space in the dash to have both symbols displayed at the same time, but hey-ho no worries

3rd Software Update done! Fixed
I wasn't sure if this was the correct thread to post into, but doing it anyway obv My car went in today just to clear the airbag warning error that I had ever since picking it up just over a month ago. According to the service guy they just cleared the error and all appears okay. They also said they re-loaded the software on it too. Looking for any changes suggests there was a change to navigation database, with everything else appearing the same. My dash looks different but I can't figure out why...it does have a little symbol indicating what driving mode you've selected, which I'm 99% sure wasn't there before. To echo @TheUltraRunner's comment there, all VAG forums have almost identical threads.

Delivery times?
Hopefully it all goes smoothly for you @Sliminator. Mine was in port at Emden for a couple of weeks, but another member on here @Shelvock 's order was there for a good while longer, even though both our cars arrived at Emden at around the same time. Waiting game just goes on and on sometimes!

Free Mk4 Boot Cover - TOFTT
*Update* I've just returned from being measured up for the boot liner (estate) with the lovely people at Titan covers. Going back in a couple of weeks for a test fitting. If anyone does want one from titan, I suggest you order soon as the wait times might be longer than normal (I think they said around 20 working days). Awesome family run business. The gear they produce looks like sturdy well-made stuff all made in the factory here in Leicestershire. *Disclaimer* aware the above might sound a bit like an advert: they did give me a coffee and will be getting a free boot liner, in exchange for them getting the pattern of the Mk4 estate boot

Free Mk4 Boot Cover - TOFTT
Very local to me, I might drop them a line!

Wireless Android Auto
I'm not buying another data package @Nissen82, just using the one that came with the car (as it's only a couple of weeks old). I'm not 100% sure on this, but if you do turn your cars WiFi hotspot on I don't think it uses much data, as all its doing is making a connection with your phone (and it's your phone that's then accessing Spotify/Google maps etc).

Wireless Android Auto
Hi @vfr I read the same for my car, but Android auto does work wirelessly! Just need to switch on the cars WiFi hotspot and boom. I think it would only be useful for short journeys however, as it'll probably burn through phone battery.

Latest Store update has Navigation
I haven't used in built navigation on my current MK4, nor did I use it on MK 3.5 or MK 3 more than a handful of times. It seems fine, I just find android auto and Google maps more useful, as the UI is also shared with Spotify/audible which is use all the time. Reading out of WhatsApp is also a thing, but often hit and miss when dictating a reply. Edit: I forgot to say I also don't like how the maps look or the audio...maybe it's because I'm used to Google, but the image quality looks 20 years old. With the MK 4 using Google maps I do notice directions also popping up in the centre of the dashboard, showing next left etc.

Scout coming to UK ?
The dealer close to me services/MOTs all the first responders and paramedic scouts. I'm not sure I'd be in the market for one after they get rid of them however! I think some of the dog handler cars are MK 3.5 vRS too. I have seen for sale locally ex cop cars, but this was a probably a while ago. I think ex cop/paramedic cars are mechanically probably okay, but the electrics have probably been tinkered with a fair bit and might be a risky purchase.

I know it's annoying the not remembering setting thing, but we just have to get used to: mode button press, individual, mode button press and your done. Moving between my partners Mk5 golf and this is loads more of a mind ****, manual handbrake and everything!

Nice one best colour and shape too #meteorestate = best estate. The tech seem okay? When you go on familiar roads and switch from sport to comfort I think you can really feel the difference man.

KPH/MPH
I think fighting the big man is fine @e-Roottoot, just online snipes at individuals and what life opportunities or qualifications are open to them is unfair. I think anyone who's been on this forum for longer than a few days can start to realise the dissonance between what is good customer service and "oh, that's the first time we've heard of that error. We'll contact Skoda HQ."
-
KPH/MPH
I agree with @sneal, making comment about what you find online about someone is harsh man

Delivery times?
Yes mate @Shelvock, I've seen you post on the FB group too that you still didn't have delivery of it yet. Collection tomorrow after delivery yesterday sounds like a proper quick turn around and perfectly timed for the nice weather and bank holiday weekend! I hope you get some quality time with it amongst some family commitments

Android Auto, WhatsApp voice dictation, works briefly then gets more and more out-of-sync, unusuable - other experiences?
No worries @JayLibove, I can understand your frustration! I sold my MK3.5 a couple of weeks ago and what you describe would happen when using read out/voice function, with it feeling like it tended to happen just after an update. Sometimes it would read out and I could dictate to it perfectly fine, other times it would struggle at reading out/accurately recording my dictation/hearing me say send: I would often just ask the google woman to **** off at these times. I don't have a fix for you though man, I just don't think I used it that much after a while due to having to swear at my car. I have a MK4 now and not tested this function just yet. It might be worth trying different cable, swearing, clearing app cache like you suggest and just enjoying the car for what it is

Certain options such as canton speakers, panoramic roof etc all require chips that are hard to get hold of. It's currently the same with all car manufacturers, even the premium brands (all car forums have very similar threads/posts). Depending on your circumstances and if you are willing to wait for that specific order, it might be worth looking at buying a cheap banger of a car to tie you over @SiWaiting. Or see what they have in stock and comprise on options

Why are people still ordering Octavia IVs?
A couple of gremlins with mine but no deal breakers, very happy with (only 1.5 week) ownership so far!

Newbie with Sat Nav issues
Not sure if you've seen other threads mentioning similar issues, but have you tried removing fuses 19 and 30? https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/492833-no-internet-connection/page/4/#comments

Delivery times?
It's awesome thanks @Col46, but hardly had chance to drive it yet due to work this week. Some tinkering with the infotainment was required (had to take out a couple of fuses, see other threads on that) and I do have an airbag error, so will contact dealer shortly. I had a 245 facelift Octavia prior to this and read this forum, but still getting used to all the tech! I'm not 100% sure, but I think I read the newer builds (maybe last August-ish onwards) do seem to have the option to switch on fans for heating/cooling for ten mins, below is a screenshot of my app just now. This isn't auxiliary heating really (which is a separate bit of kit), it's just a quick blast of the fans.
