  1. Hi Does anyone have a Roomster 3, 2009, 1.9 TDI, wiring diagram with colour coding for rear wiper. Ours is not working, probably broken wire fault. Thanks
  2. Number plate lights also rust on the metal within the plastic and stops / reduces current. Had to replace ours for this reason.
  3. Number plate bulbs can go dim due to rust on the metal connections. Take the lights out and have a look. May be two separate faults.
  4. If it's any help, our Roomster will lock all doors via key. Remote control will lock all doors on first push except front passenger door, second push same. Third push locks all doors and arms the alarm! Also if only one push is used on remote, locks can be heard unlocking and locking intermittently. If anyone knows why, information will be much appreciated. I am delaying going looking while I have a solution.
  5. Follow the connection from the battery earth to the body, it's usually short. You will also find other earth's from the engine to the body. Bad earth's can cause all sorts of problems, dash lights flashing dim, lights dim, not starting. You can measure resistance with a meter from battery earth, to earth connections, it will show if any are dodgy.
  6. I would also check the earth to body, I had a similar problem on a Volvo, with dash lights. Turned out to be a rusted earth connection.
  7. Changed timing belt on new Roomster 1.9 TDI PD, BSW, 59800 miles, 6 years 10 months belt run. Tensioner not on original setting due to belt stretch? Belt was a Dayco (VW marks) all parts in good condition. Replaced with Gate's, tensioner made in Turkey, all previous made in Canada! Next time will consider changing with Dayco. I have always used Gate's for the last 30 years.
  8. I always change everything, belt, tensioner, idler, water pump and auxiliary belt.
  9. I have just changed ours on the 1.9tdi, BSW Roomster, after 68,000 miles - 4 year's - 10 months. Timing belt, water pump & tensioner were good. Idler had several thou' of movement & grease line's from seals (Failing). Auxiliary belt was shot, cracked and small chunk missing. I always renew both at same time.
