I did 20k miles on my car in about a year, never had any problems without the anti shudder valve on, no over run or anything. Richard did look at it and he said it didnt really notice the car not having an anti shudder valve on when i took him out then turned the engine off with him in the car..... I never really minded having the CEL light on because i vag com'd it every 2 weeks. I thought it looked good with all the allard made pipework and stuff, certanly did when it was all polished up

would look much better having this in the engine bay though
-

Oh as for duration of turbos, had my fr from new in august 2005, feb 2006 had a 2nd hand hybrid vt2 turbo, that lasted 2 days and blew up..... vanes stuck had to purchase a new one, with warranty from allards for 800, month and a half later, that baby let go in a big way, white smoke poured out the exhaust when the engine was turned on...... that was after about 1.5k miles. Next one was good, and all 3 turbos had about 32psi go through them, with a peak occasionally at 36psi.

First car was a Rover 214 sei, pre bubble shape, in Knightfire red, Had that about 1 month and wrote it off in the snow :( Then had a Rover 220d (Bubble shape) in red again.... Had that about 6 months, then part exchanged it against the following but mine was in silver..... didnt even test drive the car  Had this for 9 months, as it was only a tempory car, as i origonally wanted a 1.820vt FR ibiza, but couldnt afford the insurance. In the mean time i found and fell in love with DIESEL power Traded the SX in against the following When it was standard, apart from the strut brace, then ended up like this after 6 months or so.... and a visit to allards. changed the wheels to RS6 ones and then in the end, on Feb 28th 2007 i decided to mod it a tadd more.... Was a bit better than getting a cupra bumper i thought LMAO Now got this little beast LMAO This will be going this year, and back to ibiza again 20vt this time though

The way i see this is that if you want a decent, well made manifold then your going to have to pay for it..... The ones off ebay i simply wouldnt even bother looking at tbh, as like the guy above has just found out, they are poorly made and given 6 months to a year will be scrap due to it cracking or something. They stuff like Bill has, the equal length manifolds, are the way forward IMHO. Im sure bill made about 30bhp from the manifold alone, which ok with his set up was very good gains, with something with half the power then maybe it wouldnt get as good a gains as that but im sure you would see a healthy 15-20bhp.
