  1. Can’t thank you all enough for your feedback and I’ve pretty much decided to get another vRS. Given this car is at least a couple of years old now, it must be due for a minor facelift or refresh. I might wait for that before pulling the trigger.
  2. Looking for opinions and advice please. I bought my Octavia VRS 245 new in 2019 and its been a fantastic car (except for the sunroof - nothing but problems). It's now time for a change and I'm considering the MkIV as an upgrade. Has anyone here made a similar move? I'd love to hear opinions. Also, are there any things to look out for? Any problem areas? Many thanks in advance.
  3. Thanks folks for your replies. I’ll keep all of your suggestions front of mind when I take the car in. It is an odd one, as the car has had a very gentle life so far - 3 and a bit years old, 35k kms, dealer serviced and driven gently with the odd sprint.
  4. I’ve discovered a very slow oil leak on my 2019 vrs. Noticed a few spots of oil on the driveway. Seems to be coming from the drivers side of the engine. Taking to Skoda for repair early Jan as they can’t fit me in sooner. Will keep an eye on oil level til then. Haven’t yet had to top it up. Anyone had similar?
  5. Hi. Not sure if there is a bulletin for this. Sydney City Skoda at Botany is the dealer. Good luck.
  6. Sharing this for the benefit of others who have spent countless hours searching google for solutions….. I’ve had my vRS for 3 years since new and the sunroof has been a problem since day 1. Very noisy over bumps and anytime their was any flex in the chassis e.g. change in road surface, going in and out of driveways, etc. The noise was sometimes like rubber on rubber, other times short and sharp as if it were rough metal rubbing against rough metal. Skoda made numerous attempts to fix it, lubricating this and that, and sometimes there would be an improvement and then the noise would soon return. They even replaced the entire sunroof with a completely new one. Two weeks ago the car went in for service and they finally fixed it by tightening the sunroof fixtures (where the sunroof cassette is fixed to the chassis) by x% more than specification, as instructed by Skoda global head office. My car is finally silent. i hope this helps others as I know it’s a problem that afflicts many vag models.
  7. hi mate. Did you get to the bottom of this? I have similar issue.
  8. Yes this is normal and used to do it in my last rs octavia which was the 6 speed dsg. In my new rs which is the 7 speed, it doesn’t do it.
  9. Skoda have just fixed my noisy sunroof under warranty. Two issues: Insufficient grease on the sunroof guide rails Insufficient adhesive on roof liner Car is silent now. Bliss. Happy new year.
  10. Thanks Auric and apologies for the delayed reply. Finally got around to getting this looked at by Skoda and they have fixed it under warranty. Two issues: Insufficient grease on the sunroof guide rails Insufficient adhesive on roof liner Car is silent now. Bliss. Happy new year.
  11. I have exactly the same thing and only noticed a couple of weeks ago on my 3 month old car. It gives me comfort that based on others experience, it appears to be normal.
