  1. Thanks. Shouldn't have messed with hex screw then Will removing this grille give me access to the fog connector or do I really need to go through the engine cover underneath?
  2. So the whole unit would have to be replaced if "leds are playing up? Annoyingly the issue is intermittent. Of I switch on fogs the car pings them as an issue but they are working. I just banged the fog light with my hand and the light went out and didn't come back - which makes me think it's a bad connector. But then I went out for a drive and fog lights are working are car is not flagging them?
  3. How the hell do I get at the fog light on the face lift VRS 245? Tha manual shows varient 1 and 2 but not the VRS? My dash keeps telling me there's an issue with fog bulbs but they are working so I want to clean the connector and check the bulbs. There is a hex screw through a hole in one of the honeycomb layers beneath the light but if I try and turn it nothing happens? I see there is a curled key tool for removing on other models but with no guidance for the face lift VRS I'm scratching my head?
  4. You could try Skoda live chat and ask them to get someone to call you with available garage options? Or email maybe. I've sent an email asking about how best to store car during lockdown regarding power drain and the KESSY system. They replied 5 days later after speaking with technical team, so they have people working.
  5. Turns out its not a noise from the B pillar but from the drivers door. I've come up with a temp solution for now:- Some tape on the door striker has solved the issue. So for me it's the door latch clacking on the door striker. I've tried to loosen the door striker and tap it in towards the car lightly to try and tighten/pull the door in when it's closed, but it didn't appear to move at all? There is grease being left on the tape so I'm not convinced it's a lack of grease on the latch that's the issue. Not sure on a total fix now?

  7. I'm having the same noise issue from what sounds like the drivers B pillar. Clicking and clattering noise at slow speeds over bumps and humps in the road. I thought it could be the belt adjuster ratchet but not confident on pulling apart B-pillar myself while car is in warranty. It could be the door latch mechanism so I'd like to grease it and test - what's the best spray to get - silicon grease, PTFE, white lithium grease or meta flux dri-lube? I've read about people using white lithium grease but I understand this attracts dust and crap so can gunk up pretty easily. The grease on it now looks grey.
  8. Any advice on removal - also what's it likely to be rattling away and how I might fix it? Paranoid about breaking something then having an issue with stealer later if it needs to go in. Thinking I might just silicon spray the seat belt height adjuster ratchet. Or it could be the metal seat belt feed loop so maybe a new washer is needed?
  9. Hi all, looking for a bit of advice removing the B Pillar top cover. My seat belt mechanism is rattling and clacking whenever I go over bumps in road so I want to investigate. My cars in warranty so I'd normally just give it to Skoda to deal with but as we're on lockdown... Do I simply remove the cover marked 2.air bag with a plastic tool then undo the 3. screw behind. Then unprise the cover from the door rubber seals then pull away from roof lining? The diagram make it look easy but knowing plastic clips and working blind, I'm sure it won't be. I'm not clear how I release the cover from the roof liner? Any things to watch out for?
  10. Ok I'll try not to worry about. Its just I've had START/STOP issues before. I think my car cameras were draining battery as the monitor system for them didn't work well with car system. Removed the camera power monitor, which means no parking mode, and had to give to Skoda to fix software. Also as I mentioned, with KESSY the car is wasting power on the sensors. It reminds me that I need a charger anyway - just need to buy the right one for these newer style batteries with START/STOP. This was recommend to me, need to do some research: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00E907PWS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&psc=1 Will try and run out over weekend - if Police stop me I'm on the way to supermarket......
  11. Glad to hear its sorted. I had someone reverse into one of my old cars (parked on my driveway) on Christmas eve, woke to it on Christmas day. The front bumper had been smashed in but no other damage. Luckily one of my neighbours had grainy CCTV footage which was enough for me to confront the neighbour across the road who'd had a family member visit them. Footage showed them reverse off the driveway right into my car. They paused for a minute then drove off. They definitely knew they did it! Of course they wanted to lie their way out of it until I said I'd just let the Police know. A few days later we negotiated a repair bill, there was alot of argument from them though with zero apology. Scum bags.
  12. Getting one maybe a problem at this time. Any advice on type of charger? Had read someone mentioning the battery would need a 14amp output.
  13. HI all, While I'm personally not expecting to be using my Mk3 245 for at least the next 3 weeks due to UK lockdown - is there any advice on how to store the car? I'm thinking about battery drain especially as I have KESSY. Should I deactivate KESSY at the very least? I don't own any smart modern battery charger - whats the minimum I'd need to drive to bring battery back up? Although the Police now have extra powers to stop drivers just going out for no reason. I've heard they are doing road stops in some areas and you could get upto £1000 fine. Thanks
