  1. Anyone else experiencing this? Very annoying. It takes about 20 minutes with the heating on before I can plug in any addresses into the satnav, or change the station on the radio. The car went in for a service, and I guessed what they'd say, so I showed the guy who picked it up, and he witnessed it not responding at all, and yet, when they called to report the findings of their inspection they still went with the classic, "we can't replicate the fault".
  2. That's what I'd have thought - but the dealership is consistently referring to it as recall.
  3. Thanks for the info. Skoda dropped the car off just before 6pm (so in line with what they said) then asked if they could pick it up again this morning at 7.30am. Just got into work at 7.20 to find the guy ready and waiting. Good job so far.
  4. Just had mine in for a service and to investigate why the windscreen has been fogging up so badly. Apparently there is a recall for a door seal. Anyone know anything further - bit miffed because they've not managed to do the recall work, despite seemingly knowing it was needed, so all they've done is the first service and the car's still not going to be back until 6pm.
  5. I've just got our new superb and it's mainly great, but I can't connect my phone (Samsung galaxy s6). It is recognised by the system (as Samsung_android) and the phone launches android auto, but then the system says "no compatible apps. The device may not be compatible with mirrorlink". I thought some apps would work, like maps, or Spotify at least. A guide to get Spotify working would be useful. Can anyone please help? Thanks for any assistance. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  6. http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/SUPERB-III/Rear-bumper-panels/ I have a question - what is the finish on the visible metal already present around the rear of the car? Polished or brushed?
  7. Interested in views on this. I think I've ballsed up an order from Superskoda - I ordered a steel bumper protector - I went for brushed effect. I've still to get delivery of the car, but from photos it looks like there's some polished metal just inside and so a polished finish would have been a better match.
  8. Thanks guys. That's a shame. Looks like I'll be needing a phone holder.
  9. Hi there, there's mixed reports on whether it's possible to get the excellent free satnav app Waze to work in the Superb. Dies anyone have any info?
  10. I looked at that double seat width style and dismissed it from my options because I thought it would be too much hassle fitting seats (and cutting holes in the cover), but if you did go for that style, I thought this one looked like better quality fabric... IMy view (which is probably only shared by me!) was also that while these things can never look good, it looks better if they resemble a flat peice of fabric laid over the seats as opposed to something that is badly fitted. In that format, it could also serve as a groundsheet if need be. YMMV
  11. Yeah - prices are good, but postage is high - which is why it struck me that it could be worth adding bits and pieces to an order. I was buying floor mats and mud flaps so it made sense for me to do it that round.
  12. Thanks - that's interesting reading. Our seats both have isofix bases and footwell bracing legs. The reason I went with the cheap covers above is so I can cut them if necessary to fit around the isofix anchor points. I'm fairly confident that this will ensure they're safe. I'd not considered the added risk you highlighted though - so many thanks.
  13. Too late for me as I just clicked the "confirm purchase" button, before thinking about it, but I thought it would make a good thread. Is there anything that you may as well add to an order from Superskoda? I looked around for a bit after going there to buy mudflaps and floor mats, and ended up adding these to the order as they seemed cheap and worthwhile:- Superb III - original Skoda rubber mat over the rear tunnel - 7.99 € Superb III - official Skoda Auto,a.s. Superb III merchandise glasses - 5.99 € They both seem inexpensive and worth adding on. The glasses don't look great but I have a "car coat" that is so ugly I never accidently wear it and forget to leave it in the car. I think the glasses actually don't look too bad, but hope they'll serve a similar purpose. I was thinking someone might say - definitely order these headlight bulb upgrades, or something like that - that's what I'd have benefitted from.
  14. I'm interested in any answers to this thread too. Hoping to take delivery of a Superb estate on Friday, and having recently had to clean up a borrowed car after a trip a bit too soon after the boys' breakfast I thought, "I don't want to have to be doing this in the new car". Hunted around a bit, and probably not for everyone, but I went with these:- My thinking was that one could be more easily replaced than the double width options (and the other could then be substituted for it in an emergency). I'm just hoping that when they there's a satisfactory means to tie them down
  15. So yesterday afternoon I was told the problem is with my signature - with the implication that, after 6 months, my signature on a document sent earlier that day means I'm the one at fault. So I ask "What happens next?" I was told she didn't know and that she would get the right person to call me this morning. Nobody called so I've just tried them. Spoke to the same person who, before I could say anything put me through to a voicemail box. I've just called again and asked to speak to the most senior person in the building and have been told he's in a meeting but will call me back within half an hour. I'm not holding my breath.
  16. Well, after 24 and a half weeks, the car's due delivery date is today, and I've just asked them to put everything on hold so I can have an hour or so to decide whether to cancel. After arranging today as the delivery day last week, it transpired they should have sent me paperwork to sign and return and so that was sent to me on Monday evening and sent back to them Tuesday morning. Since then I've heard nothing, and so I call just after 9 to see what's going on. "Give me half an hour". Nothing. I call at 11. "There's been a problem with the paperwork and it's being resent as we speak.. the car may be delivered today, maybe tomorrow - I will call you back shortly." Nothing. I call about an hour ago and when I refuse to accept a promise of a call back in half an hour, I'm told in an exasperated tone to "be patient". I don't know what I've done to make them place such a low worth on my custom, and I'm not really the sort for melodrama, but there comes a point when you have to think, "should these people get my business?" I'm not sure I've ever felt this indignant in my life!
  17. Wow - had no idea results like that were even possible! Very nice.
  18. I'd add my voice to the comments about delivery lead times. If I could go back and start again, just before placing the order, I would ask the Skoda representative to put down in writing when it will be available at the dealership to pick up. I suspect that they will stutter a bit, and then I would ask them to write down their worst case scenario. Because then, if my experience is anything to go by, you'll have a piece of paper with a date on it that is exactly halfway between now and when you'll get your car.
  19. Thanks Prykey - I think you're right. I'm leaning towards just getting my hands on the car asap. To be honest, I'm still worried that something else will go wrong.
  20. Thanks guys. I've paid for maintenance and servicing as part of the lease cost. I think I'm going to let this one go and just suck it up. It's ironic - my main concern is the ****-taking in the office. I made the mistake of telling people I'd ordered a new car, and when I said it was a Skoda the usual ****taking began. I didn't mind, because I was confident that the car would speak for itself. Now, though, everyone's asking about it and full of pity at the woeful customer service. I was happier with the ****taking! Skoda appear to have made massive steps in terms of car production, and (in this case) undone all their hard work with abysmal customer service.
  21. D402 - It's looking like I may be in the same boat. Leased car too so I wasn't too miffed, but I ordered on 7 September, and they've taken exactly twice as long as their "worse case" scenario to get the car. The more I think about it the more annoyed I get. This is muy first ever brand new car, so 4 days of new plate is a bit disappointing. Can't decide whether to make an issue of it or not. Could also really do with the car by the weekend...
  22. I ordered a leased Superb SE Business estate on 7 September 2015. After much dealer woes the car apparently arrived at the dealership on Tuesday. I was told I'd have the car by Friday at the latest, but even as of today nothing's been confirmed. I was only sent paperwork on Monday and on that there is a registration date of 25 February and a 65 registration number. I would never consider myself the sort of person to be fussed about this sort of thing, but after being d!cked around for 6 months waiting for this car, being drip-fed lies about its progress, being told I will have a new car for all of 4 days is like sand kicked in my face. I felt like a I got a reasonable deal and halfway through the shambles they knocked £300 off the deposit, but since then it was delayed a further 6 weeks and so they said they'd make another goodwill gesture. That, it has transpired, is... ...Drumroll please... A full tank of fuel Whooop! Again, it feels almost insulting. Tell me I'm being a Prima Donna and that this is industry standard customer service.
  23. Yetivrs, we're hoping to be in the same position soon. I was given a Seat Alhambra as a hire car a while back, and was reading through the thread itching to suggest it. So comfortable and practical. Insanely massive boot with seats 6 and 7 down.
  24. Mine's got no options at all. Thanks a lot r08shaw - just called the dealer and got my SLI number without any problems. Called Skoda UK (on 03330 037 504 in case it saves someone some googling) and they were able to confirm the car's arrived at UK port yesterday. Unfortunately they've said it will now be a week to 10 days until it gets to the dealer. The dealer had said it would be 4 days "absolute maximum" so it'll be interesting to see how they spin that one. Mine's a lease deal, so I'm just wondering if they're holding out so they can stick it on a new plate and get more for it when I hand it back and they flog it.
  25. Gah! Don't remind me about the wheels. Ordered 10 spoke. Check a week later to make that was recorded. "Sorry, I forgot, but the 10 are standard, so that's what you'll get. If you want me to specifically order them I'll have to redo the order which will cause a delay." This was when I was still being told I'd definitely have the car by Christmas. So decided to hope for the best. After about 14 weeks when no build date has been provided, I ask that, as it hasn't built yet, can they specify the 10 spokes. Get told the 10 spokes are being fitted until they run out and that I probably won't get them. Being told this week's after I was told I'd have my car proves somewhat galling. Had it confirmed the other day that it's got Helios. Hadnt heard about the roof rail issue. Not that fussed either way I guess. Other than the bad weather cited for the most recent delay, no specific excuses have been made. At the moment I don't believe anything I'm being told in any event.
