  1. Excellent instructions. I’ve just experienced this on a 2016 Octavia, the roof would only ‘nearly close’ and then tilt up again. Without the roof fully closed it would not reset or recalibrate…. Weirdly, part closing the sun blind caused the roof to fully close, the recalibration process then worked, all sorted again 🙂

@fr1nklyn thanks - I agreed with local mechanic to go for the seals & bolts - it was the second Haldex oil change so figured best to do so. Wanted to get the job done by local guys due to the suggestions that dealers in the UK don't check the filter. The garage asked me to come down & speak the mechanic - he wanted to show me the gunge he got off the filter, the dirty oil & the 'lumps' of oil that had come out - we both agreed that was not 'normal' for oil... Removing pump definitely worthwhile. Thanks all. For anyone picking up on this thread, it's worth watching the video - the work is easy, but the car has to be raised & having the correct kit to drain & refill will make a huge difference.

Hi - I think the answer is clear on this, but I'm assuming there are no special tools for this - just (ideally) ramps, oil & likely a syringe to get the new oil in? Any tips on where to go in VCDS to prime the pump would be appreciated! (local dealer has lost my business as they serviced 2 months ago but did not bother with Haldex, asking me this week to go back...) local indy are good but will have limited experience of Haldex - can do VCDS myself if needed but need to know where to look 🙂) TIA
  5. @dale_stevens can you elaborate on what you mean by the "towing electrics module"? is this something in the car, or the socket on / under the rear bumper that connects the trailer board? How did you diagnose / who fixed (yourself / dealer / independent?) - I'm seeing v. similar behaviour on a factory fit Octavia setup - intermittent, getting rapidly worse: If light board is left connected with car locked, car alarm goes off intermittently (I assume as connection is lost / car thinks the socket has been disconnected) Trailer board not 'recognised' or powered by car, unplugging & re-plugging can help (possibly with re-starting car), but not every time. If 'working', trailer board can disconnect whilst driving, resulting in warnings to check left & right trailer board bulbs. Appears not to 'reconnect' by itself. fuses etc. all ok, no obvious damage or water ingress to the socket etc, no obvious corrosion. thanks....
  6. thanks for the tips. I'm on a 2016 / 66 Octavia (so slightly off spec here....) Worth pointing out that if you've an insulated jacket around the battery, you'll need to remove the battery cables before you can remove this, and it will likely be far easier to remove once you've also undone & removed the clamp. When fitting the new battery REMEMBER to re-install the battery jacket BEFORE you attach the clamps (ok, I'd only just started tightening the first one!), I found it easier to get the jacket on before tightening the clamp. There are other posts that cover using VCDS to tell the car that a new battery / changed battery capacity has been fitted.
