  1. i will give tht a go!
  2. The dealer quoted me for a brand new loom. Anyway I bought one from eBay used for £50. Waiting to be delivered now and see what I get. According to the parts diagram it should fit.
  3. Yes, it came with the driver's door a different colour, windows not working, OBD2 port not working and also, I have to press the Unlock button on the fob twice to open the doors which I find odd but not impossible. But anyway, point is, I don't know if the loom is the correct one because it would 1. Belong to the donor car 2. It might have been swapped over when the door was changed so I don't know. eBay breakers have very different part numbers compared to what's on the parts sistems and yet they have power windows, heated mirrors, central locking etc. I even noticed the connector for the window motor on one of them was different than mine and it was from a 2008 Roomster (mine is a 2007). Dealer quoted me £150 doh! I guess I have to tear it down and check what's on it.
  4. No, just the passager window works for 5 min after I unplug and plug the main harness. Sadly nothing to do with ignition. They never work whilst driving. I even took the battery out yesterday when I serviced it just for luck.
  5. Just to update, the door was replaced due to an accident an I believe the wiring harness is not the correct one for the car. I looked on the parts finder and there are many many variations of this harness. Struggling to find one from the breakers that fits mine :(
  6. I tested power to the motor and power to the switch. Both 12v. I don't know how to test for continuity
  7. Fyi it wasn't me that soldered those.
  8. Cheers. The soldering does look a bit crap. From memory it's a thick red, a brown one and a blue one.
  9. But why does the passenger door side works only for 5min?
  10. 2007 Fabia both front windows down work. I checked the wiring harned in both doors and the passenger side is intact. The drivers side has been mendended, about 3 wires were soldered. There is lights on the switches when I turn the headlights in. Passenger Side: Unplugged and plugged the harnes in the door and voilà! It worked...for 5 min. Then it didn't work again, no switches make it work. Unplugged and plugged back in. Worked for about 5 min. This was operated only with the passenger door switch. The drivers switch didn't make it operate. Drivers Side: I took the door card off, took the motor off and made it turn with a spare battery. I checked the wires that plug on the motor and there is 12v going to it. I took another switch from my other Fabia and it didn't work. There is also 12v going to the switch. I plugged and unplugged the harnes and it made no difference. What am I missing?
  11. I gave it a good jam and almost struggled to pull it back out. How do I actually check for power with a multimeter? I did suspect that with the windows. I'll tackle that after.
  12. Does anyone know why the OBD port on a 1.6 petrol 2007 hasn't got any power? Is there a fuse somewhere? The OBD 2 reader doesn't turn on when I plug it in. It does work with my other Fabia and Mazda. Both front windows don't work either. Fuse looks ok. Related?
  13. Hi People 1.6 petrol 2007 Roomster. I plugged in my OBD2 and I get no power to it. Tested it on other cars and the OBD reader (cheap Bluetooth) works fine. Is there a fuse for the OBD? I read the diagram but can't workout which one it is. Also I read it's something to do with the radio maybe if aftermarket. Looks stock to me. Also, neither windows go down. I haven't checked the pinched wiring yet. Not sure of the two are connected. Thanks guys.
  14. I agree cold weather. It is a bushing issue, you just have to workout which one it is. Mine sounds identical.
  15. Same, also mine kept blowing no matter how much money I spent on them. My MOT guy said "you shouldn't really have those you know, try and revert to normals please" didn't marked me.
  16. Mine was the anti roll bar bushes. Spary them with silicone spray. If ti stopps then you know where your issue is. Also mine comes back every winter no matter how many times i've changed them. Now I have Polibushes with that special grease and it still dries out and squeeks over speed bumps.
  17. Front disks - you can but is it worth it with with your 105bhp? lots of products with a google search. Change to vented disks and some EBCs green stuff if you want to. Or some braided lines. Rear Drums - Some will say, it's really easy. But of course they have different skill levels, time in their hands, space to do it confortably (or some will show off how they can do an engine swap in a layby) experience and an Audi A1 rear torsion beam complete with hubs and parafenelia laying in their back garden. Unless you have a 2.0 swaped with serious power, I say, don't bother. Pace.
  18. Thank you for that input, it's much appreciated. The country is Romania, 40% of their cars on the road are import from Germany, Belgium, France etc. The issue is not registering it in Romania, what I'm asking is, when I buy this car with the french registration in the UK, how does it transfer in my name? Or does it not, I just have to re-regiter it if that's the case? Either way this is still an option I'm willing to undertake. I guess it will be a learning curve.
  19. good questions. 1. No it will be a different one again, meaning it will be re-registered. 2. No, I will do. I just didn't want to be completley clueless before I engage in a conversation.
  20. Hello, I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction please. I'm looking to buy a project LHD car in th UK. Short reason being, my parents need a vehicle and they live in an EU country. I found a french registered car on ebay in UK for a reasonable price with 1 years CT (MOT), and from a dealer that only sells LHD cars. I will be keeping it in the uk for a month or 2 before shipping it out to a different EU country where it will need to be re-registered. Questions: How does it work when I buy a french registered car in the uk? How do I transfer it over in my name? How do I insure it? How do I pay tax on it? Do I pay tax on it? Any advice is very very much appreciated. P.s. Please try and stick to the questions asked, I'm not looking for advice regarding financial benefits, hassle or difficulty. I am aware of that already. This is the path I'm choosing to go through
  21. Thanks for the input. I'm just looking to see if Flo-flex is any good quality. Everything is pressed out already just a matter of fittings something new and good value.
  22. hello hello I just need some advice on the quality of one vs other. Flo-flex is a lot cheaper, was wondering if it's you get what you pay for or is it goo value for money. I read good and bad reviews for both. I'm talking all bushes, front arms, top suspension mounts rear torsion beam etc P.s. not looking on how to remove/install, I know people can get carried away on procedures.
  23. oh my, what have you done...where's my pocorn.
  24. i unplugged the connector, popped the pins from the connector out with a very thin small flathead screwdriver (there is a connector tool you can buy), and soldered the pin back, then reverse install.
  25. although I have a 1.6 tdi and the MAP is located somewhere else, the sleve that goes over the wires near the connector has rubbed against the wires and cut one of them eventually. I bought a MAP sensor for nothing. Worth checking wires first.
