  1. can this be a hydraulic lifter issue?
  2. I've done something possibly stupid, I've unplugged each Injector at a time and the sound made no difference. I'm leaning towards bearing failure. I'm at the point now where I can't afford to spend anymore money on this car. I will take it to a garage tomorrow for their diagnostic and sell it as it is. It went from a relatively nice car to cruise on motorways to a sack of metal. 😕
  3. I did a test with one of those chemical testers and it came negative, no change in colour. I will see if I can get my hands on a kit. Does that not sound like a bearing rod?
  4. https://youtube.com/shorts/r5_04TQxoxw?feature=share
  5. so I replaced all 4 injectors with reconditioned units, the reading look a lot better but my engine sounds the same 😞 I coded the new injectors too.
  6. so I suspect injector 1 is no good? what about injecor 3?
  7. how can I test the injectors? can I use VCDS?
  8. 1.6tdi 125000milee Turned the key on and it started to knock. Took it in my garage and the knock was getting louder. I noticed some coolant has gone as well. https://youtube.com/shorts/NfXbM7IEJfY?feature=share
  9. I've got AC 🙂. It was low on gas and also the old module was faulty. I got no more errors.
  10. I booked it with another garage for Monday. £60 to regas. Fingers crossed
  11. Yes it's all spinning, I can feel the engine working harder when I press AC. It doesn't have a clutch as some other AC compressors I've seen. Am I right refrigerant shouldn't be lost otherwise there's a leak in the system? Is it worth me replacing anything if the pressure is low? I need to book it at another garage by the looks of it.
  12. I bought a brand new one and fitted it. I bought a used module as well and fitted it. I also bought a new thermoswitch but haven't fitted it just yet just in case. Nothing worked yet. Here is a picture of my fake vagcom reading. Car is at idle.
  13. The system is fully pressurised.
  14. Hello again The AC on my 2007 1.6 Petrol Roomster is not working. I can hear a hissing sound when I press the AC button, it's a Climate one with the knobs, but no cold air comes out. The revs also jump up and down when the AC is pressed. The fan is never turing on. I asked the local garage to see if the system is low on refrigerant and they said it's full. Things I've done: - Checked all fuses in the battery tray and under the dash. - Bridged the thermoswitch connector to turn the fan on, and it turned on to both speeds 1 and 2. - Scanned and got given code 01320 - Climatrinic NoSignal/Communication. But I don't have climatronic. And also a low battery signal one for same module (can't remember code sorry) - In fuse No 10 for AC in some countries there was no fuse. I added a 7.5 one. - I looked for sliot wired in all of the connectors I can see related to AC but they all looked ok. I unplogged them all an plugged them back in, the moduled in the dash included. I read a few forums that the module might be bad. I can try a used one for about £20 I don't mind. Any other suggestions anyone? Thanks Bertie
  15. use resistors like I used to do. It becomes a paind to replace everything befor MOT day
  16. not over a diesel and a car that looks like a shoe 😂
  17. I just did a battery test. At idle with Ac on and DRL was 14V. With everything turned on, radio, ac, defrosters, fogs etc 13.1V There is a hissing sound coming from the alternator area. Can this be connected to the AC fans going up and down in speed, sometimes stopping all together then blasting, like a pulsing effect?
  18. Mine has the exact same issue. I took it to Skoda a few years ago as it was under the emission fix warranty, they said it was an adaptation issue and they fixed it again which they haven't. I eneded up leaving it with them for a few days as it only happened on a cold start. They were saying there was no issues and it's normal. Obviously I knew I was being fobbed off and I wasn't in the mood of arguing with them any longer. I've been living with it like this for years. I just rev it a few seconds and it idles ok after.
  19. Hi folks, it's been a while. My 1.6tdi has a list of issues since last time I drove it. My wife uses it to travel to work only, about 300mi round trip every time. Even if there was a wheel missing she wouldn't know the difference. I got in it the other day and the first thing I noticed when pulling out a junction and especially in this car park at Heathrow airport where you have to drive up in circles for 4 floors, how heavy the stearing wheel was. Small adjustments on a straight road you can move it with a finger but past 90° it gets really heavy. I also have a 1.6 petrol roomster and that has a pulsing sensation when I turn the wheel but it's light as a feather throught all motions. It has done 120K I never replacement the power steering fluid. The fluid is all there. Tire pressure is spot on. No warning lights. Battery is a few years old and never had an issue starting, it has been hooked up to a trickle charger as well. Where do I start? Thanks. Ps. Yes I know how I have to turn the wheel when moving only etc etc.
  20. I was lucky I guess. If you have figured out how to do it then you're the prefered option.
  21. Put an allert on eBay for the module number. Pete helped me find the listing on eBay. I paid £40 for the module with the motor.
  22. I was considering it. Not sure how it will impact the DPF in that matter.
  23. hey everyone. Q: When replacing the EGR, is this a bolt on job? Does it need VCDS calibrations or can I just drive away? I am aware of the location and difficulty. 1.6TDI CR 116K miles egr previously replaced by Skoda at 49000. I know these fail again and again, my wife uses the car for 250mi journeys weekly and don't want her to limp mode home. Car is used just on motorways.
  24. hey, just been browsing through this and sounds an awfull lot like my story. Pete aka Wino helped me massively with this issue. I have done exactly what you did and the only thing that resolved the issue was the control module on the driver's side replacement. Be careful to make sure you are getting the exact part as there are many many variations of this part. But yes, I feel the pain.
  25. I did managed to tighten it just a bit more with a small ratchet with one hand. I didn't go over board. I'm just waiting to take it on a longer journey to see if it does it again.
