  1. I don't have any relevant experience, but this article might help/shock you http://www.frenchpropertylinks.com/essential/registering-car-france.html Having read this and if it was me, I would buy the new car in France!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. I hope that Citizen's Advice told you that your contract is with the dealer who supplied the car and that your finance company is jointly liable. Skoda UK isn't a party to your Sale of Goods Act and other legal remedies. However a bit more persistence with Skoda might help, especially as the Columbus seems to be the main weakness of the Superb 2 - at least as far as one can see from this forum.
  3. Have you checked your SDHC card in a computer, that's the obvious first check so forgive me if you've already done this!
  4. Here is a link to the Mont Blanc web site. http://www.montblanc...om/en/roof-bars# Select make and model, Choose the bars you've got, click on "more info", then on "details". There should be a .pdf to download the fitting instructions which do have specific info for the Superb 2. They refer to a pin or screw and a rubber strip to be fitted. If parts are missing suggest you contact Mont Blanc Hope this helps
  5. Recently Autocar tested the new Kia Optima against the Mondeo, Passat and Superb. The end result was: If you want sharp handling, go for the Mondeo If you want comfort go for the Pasat or the Superb. However it was a close run thing between the three and they reckoned that anyone in the market for any of the three would be happy with any of them, if you get my drift There was a distant fourth - the Kia.
  6. More details of the Kenwood system here: http://www.accessories.skoda.co.uk/productdetail.aspx?p_no=ZGB000035523
  7. Have just read the Which? 2012 Car Survey. Skoda is 2nd highest rated brand behind Porsche. Octavia, Fabia, but above all Superb are highly rated.
  8. Latest news........ Dealer giving me fortnightly updates. two weeks ago forecast build date week 33, yesterday forecast week 36. Ho hum.... This forum has taught me the virtue of patience!!
  9. Thanks for posting the pictures; it looks really great. I did contact the supplier, but they don't sell it in the UK, and shipping costs would have increased the cost by 50% and the total cost would have exceeded 1000 Euro! I'm having to consider other options!
  10. Whilst I don't have a Superb yet - on order - I have now had 5 cars with air conditioning and I don't recall the last time I drove any distance with a window open (except when it failed - last June 2011 - 39C!!!)
  11. You're right and I'm sorry. I don't yet own mine so can't go out and measure. However the brochure shows the small aerial on the estate. As far as I can tell, the maximum height of the aerial is the same as the maximum height of the roof rails - 1510mm.
  12. just over 4' 9 1/2". The estate is 1510mm which is just under 4' 11 1/2".
  13. Thank very much for the info. I have sent an email to the company to see if they have a stockist in the UK.
  14. Mine is also for week 33. Dealer says early September for delivery.
  15. Also, which roofbox is it? Is it a standard Skoda one? Are they Thule or Skoda roof bars? And would you be able to measure the overall height with the box? Thanks in advance.
  16. I agree. I've used Event Tyres twice, and excellent service both times.
  17. As you might have seen in my thread "Roofbox", I've gone for a 1.8TFSI SE Plus Estate in Petrol Blue. Estimated delivery by about end August/early September. I've gone for heated windscreen and seats, front parking sensors, heated washers, dipping mirror, retracting parcels shelf and spare wheel. Taking advantage of zero% VAT, and as low mileage don't want the hassle of DPF, and slow warm up. Will post photos once delivered. This forum has been invaluable in deciding to buy at all and which model/extras to specify; so thanks to all contributors whose advice I've taken whilst lurking
  18. Thanks. Ranger 500 looks to be just within the height with normal roofbars. There are also some bars that are barely higher then the rails. I just missed out on some on eBay - rats - for about £70 as there, new are about £160! As i don't need to take the car on the train 'till next March, I'm going to wait 'till I've taken delivery and then do some careful measurement!! Thanks again, Majland, for the help.
  19. Thanks Majland. I will follow up those tips.
  20. I'm joining the Superb "club" in about September. Ordered a 1.8TSi SE Plus Estate in Petrol Blue (with some extras). It's replacing a SEAT Alhambra which fits nicely on the double deck Eurotunnel shuttles. I envisage occasionally needing a roof box on these journeys. Does anyone know of one that provides an overall height of less than 1.85m when mounted on a Superb Estate with normal roofbars? Thanks in advance
  21. I suspect he means that all servicing required in 3 years or 30000 miles whichever comes first is included in the price. Therefore: if you do, in three years: exactly 30000 miles in three years you get 3 services less than 30000 miles, two services more than 30000 miles, three services. that would make sense to me.
  22. Does anyone know if it's possible to get 16" or 17" wheels with the Elegance trim. I don't care for ultra low profile tyres, especially when driving on alpine roads? Thanks in advance for any contributions.
