Which engine?
I have a 1.5 eTSI Hatch which was a replacement for a 2.0 220 HP mark 3 estate. I wanted a car that was more economical but could keep up with traffic. I have achieved the ecomy aim - the 1.5 is 20-25% more economical on 95RON petrol than the 2.0 was on 97RON. It keeps up with traffic even when loaded, but is no sperts car. The 2.0 could frighten the **** out of me if I floored the throttle whereas the smaller engine just has a little extra 'go' to get past slow traffic. It suits me. As @ducu said, best go ant try one. My test was on a 1.5 mark3 which wasn't the mild hybrid. That showed me that it would be fine. Hope this helps.

Random choice of MP3 track
Having returned to trying to understand what's been going on with playing "random" MP3, I realised that they weren't random at all. The unit had managed to set itself to play tracks in artist aphabetical order. I had previously set it to play in folder order. Quite why it decided to change setting, I can't fathom. I'm certain is wasn't me!

Random choice of MP3 track
This is one of those "surely there must be a solution, but suspect it's a feature" rather like the issue where you can accept a phne call from a button on the steering wheel but not end it! I like to listen to recordings on a USB stick with material ripped from CDs and other sources. Each collection/album is in a file. If I set the system playing tracks from 'album X', I expect to return to the same album after parking and leaving the car. However, all to often the car starts playing music from a completely different album which is almost never the next one alphabetically. Am I doing something wrong or is it a fault or.....a feature? Any ideas?

Problem with rear seats touch panel for seat heating and temperature control
I was caught out by this too. My rescuer on this forum also added photos of the right screen:https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/536899-heated-rear-seats-control/

Heated rear seats control
I tried that and the response to "Hey Laura........." was (in a male voice!) "I haven't been trained to do that yet".

Heated rear seats control
Hi tjn2060, thanks for this. There was no padlock icon on the screen for me assuming I'd pressed the right ones of course. I pressed the '4 squares' icon - bottom left, then 'seats', then 'rear' and landed on a screen very similar to the photo in your post. Then at second attempt, I found a screen that was exactly as you described, and all sorted, thanks again.

Heated rear seats control
Carried my first adult passenger in the back seats today. She wanted a heated seat. The touch control on the back of the centre console didn't seem to work. Until....... We consulted the manual, and it's pretty straightforward to switch them on from the front touch screen (but I wouldn't want to do it when driving). Once switched on, the controls in the back can reduce the heat or turn off the seat heating. Am I missing something? Can the rear heated seats be turned on from the back? As ever, the manual isn't all that much help! Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Vehicle configuration sticker
Does anyone know where this sticker is located on a mk4 hatch?

Order and delivery times for MK4 Superb
I'm probably an outlier here. I wanted a 1.5eTSI SEL hatch with rear wiper and winter pack. I wasn't too bothered about colour. Visited dealer mid August 2025. A grey metallic car was available from stock, so delivered two weeks later on 1 September.

Another peculiar event
Hi all. Another odd event today. I was listening to music from a usb stick, when suddenly I found the soundtrack had changed to a programme on BBC Sounds catch up service from my phone via Android Auto. This seemed to happen just after I'd selected revers gear in the unlikely event that this makes a difference! Strange things was, that BBC Sounds wasn't running on my phone at the time and when I was last using it, I was connected to a different channel. Am I, or is the car going mad?

Mysterious message
Looks like no one else has seen this message on their cars. But I'll provide an update to my own post in that I havent seen the message over the last 3 weeks either. I have no idea what changed, but it's one less thing to deal with on starting!

Have these cars got minds of their own
Thank you Steve-1. You've confirmed that my car is behaving normally. I'll try displaying instantaneous fuel consumption as you suggest.

Have these cars got minds of their own
Thanks for your reply. Enjoy your car when it arrives! Just to be clear and not mislead, the mild hybrid only has a very tiny battery, but, nonetheless, it still needs to be recharged!

Have these cars got minds of their own
5 weeks in, I feel I'm starting to get used to the car's behaviou (1.5 TSI mild hybrid)r. Compared with my old Superb (1016 2.9 TSI) though, some features are quite different compared with any other car've driven. It can be quite disconcerting, when driving along a dual carriageway at 70 mph with predictive adaptive cruise control on, to see engine revs drop to zero! With no throttle, sometimes revs drop to zero and the car appears to coast, at other times there's what appears to be quite a lot of engine braking. The brakes seem to require more foot pressure than I'm used to (previous Superb and a Seat Leon), and I neve feel that my foot is pressing against something solid. It's as though there's a disconnect between the pedal abd the brake calipers. The brakes work well onough, though. Is this normal?

Mysterious message
My car started displaying the message in the attached photo after 2 weeks of ownership. Each time I see the message, the phone is in my pocket and has over 90% charged. Any ideas

Upgrade from Mk3 to Mk4?
I moved to a Mk4 very recently and have only covered 600 miles. It's a 1.5TSi SEL hatch replacing a 2016 2.0TSi SEL estate. Power is reduced, but this was expected and in compensation fuel consumption is at least 20% better. As others have said, the ADAS systems are irritating but speed limit alerts and lane keepig can easliy be turned off - but every trip. My dealer was helpful enough to put a short cut onto the main screen to switch off lane keeping although I have no idea how put any other shortcuts there! I'm delighted with the headlights and the rear view camera. Overall, though, apart from a little engine noise when accelerating, the car is noticeably quieter than the older one and more comfortable. On a return trip from Milton Keynes to Norwich recently with only 200 miles on the clock I obtained an overall 50 mpg, which I think is pretty amazing for such a big petrol powered car.

New to this forum
I've joind the Mk IV group this morning with a Grey 1.5 Hatch with both the options I wanted - rear wiper and heated front screen. Ordered a fortnight ago, and it happened to be in stock. Now learning about all the great advances (?) since my 2016 MkIII! First challenge is understanding how the car reacts to the 60GB of music on my USB memory stick and how bast I organise it.

Battery not charging
Carried out checks prior to setting off to the garage indictating alternator not working which garage later confirmed. Fingers crossed, I get it back today.

Battery not charging
I'm being ultra cautious, keeping the battery charged and not starting the engine until I go to the dealer on Tuesday - otherwise I would check.

Battery not charging
Thanks for all the replies. Today's bulletin. Booked into a local VW/Audi specialist for investigation on Tuesday. I bought a charger. On connection, read 12V. After 3-4 hours 12.8V. Took the car for a short run - circa 5 miles. The battery not charging message came on after about 4 miles. By the time I turned into my drive, the power steering was heavy (and a faul light appeared) and the car wouldn't restart. Charger on again, hoping I'll get to the dealer on Tuesday. I did ring my local Skoda dealer and they gave me the earliest date it could be booked in for "diagnostics".........4th October!!!!!!!
