  1. You may also need VCDS or OBD11 pro in order to activate something (I can't remember what, but I did). Not all cars seem to need it but some do
  2. Has anyone got this working? We have a 2017 fabia with swing radio and would like android auto
  3. Thanks, is 5E0919605M the one I really need then?
  4. Thanks. I am just assuming it is as its intermittent. Could be something else I guess but nothing showing up on an obd11 scan. On a separate point, can I replace my screen with the larger one 5E0919605N
  5. Hi @pab567, I tried to message you but not sure my messaging is working as I can't create one for some reason. I had previously updated my firmware with your help but wondering if this is now still up to date? Reason I ask is I have installed a couple of non standard mods (rear camera which didn't work and activated carplay) and now have an intermittent fault with cruise control sometimes not working so was looking to go back to stock fw. If no newer version exists is there any way to force an update with the same version as the car won't do it via the normal process as it's the same fw. Here is what I have
  6. Changing cars to save a marginal amount on fuel is a false economy. It will likely take years to recoup the money you lose on your skoda at such low mileage and the yaris probably won't be much better anyway. As has been said, if you're looking to change look at an EV of some kind
  7. I'd strip out your seats and carpets and leave them somewhere to dry. My son's car had a leak and the carpets were saturated and the floor pans wet through. No way would they have dried in the UK weather in the car. We had to leave them in the sun for a couple of days to dry them. Your doors should be OK if the drain holes are clear
  8. If you have recovery they will get you in inside about 60 seconds (or they would in the UK)
  9. mine is anywhere between 90 and 107 degrees depending on weather and driving time but main difference seems to be speed. When I'm belting along the motorway the temp rises as you'd expect. I've never had any issues so never worried about it. 1.6 tdi 2016
  10. I had this exact issue. You either need full version of OBD eleven or VCDS to do it
  11. Sorry, no idea but u think you can tell from the expansion tank if I remember correctly. If it has the bag I think it has "Mit silica" printed on it or something similar
  12. 2016 1.6tdi bought 2018 with around 45k on the clock. Currently on 105k Needed the cooling system flushing 2019 under warranty due to the silicas bag issue. No issues since although I did replace the new expansion tank with a non silica bag one myself at a cost of around £25. Other than brake pads and discs being replaced once and another set of front pads (did those myself for less than £20), tyres and servicing, the only other issue I have had is a leaking fuel hose which I replaced with a piece of hose I bought from Halfords for about £5. The official replacement hose was part of a kit which cost some stupid amount from Skoda so made do with the Halfords hose which isn't quite the same shape as the original but works perfectly
  13. £1050 is ridiculous. Probably prices at stealers have gone up due to skoda nipping their cambelt cashcow in the bud by extending the replacement interval. I'd have said £650 is about right if they're a VAG specialist. I paid £600 at my local specialist a couple of years ago
  14. Just to confirm, this is the one I bought from Ali and is now working fine. No lag. I've only used with android auto, not apple car play https://a.aliexpress.com/_EHLeHKT
  15. it's not the carlink one but similar. Over 10k sold on ali so presumed it worked. I have just had another play, forgot the bluetooth connection and reconnected and now working. No idea why or how but it is so I'm not too worried how and why. Thanks for your replies
  16. the one I have is the one that does AA and ACP and connects via bluetooth to the phone
  17. I've ordered a wireless dongle from ali express and whilst I can connect to it the box connects to the head unit, it won't let me access AA via the wireless (bluetooth) connection. When I plug my phone in via a cable it opens up AA automatically but with the wireless dongle it doesn't but I get a screen where I can choose which deice to use and the dongle shows but when I choose it I get a message about it not supporting mirrorplay. When I had AA/ACP activated I had a similar problem with my phone but managed to sort with obdeleven via adding AA and ACP through adaptations. Does anyone know if this is a similar issue and if there is a similar adaptation I can activate?
  18. Thanks, that's what I thought. I did the same with an eBay seller. Smartlink works but no option for apple car play or android auto. I know someone with vag com, presumably it can be done with that?
  19. Can you do this with the basic version of obdeleven or do you need pro?
  20. Hi, you sent me an update for mine a few months back which worked fine. I have recently tried to install a cheap Ali express reversing camera which isn't working but seems to have messed my park pilot up. WOuld updating the s/w again sort this out? If yes could you please send again?
  21. Hi, is there an update for mine please?
