Dear all, many thanks for all the replies it’s certainly made a few comments. I have put general grabber a/t on in the end. As for my insurance they are fully aware of what I do and it is actually insured as an ambulance as this is it’s full time role. Once again many thanks.

I haven’t yet, that’s why I asked what would fit

Thanks for the reply. I got them to fit proper mud tyres. With them being 17 not 19, I thought that I might be able to get a mud tyre, as they are not available in 19”. I am a member of a 4X4 response group and need a set of mud tyres. I was helping out at CarFest North last week towing stranded campers off etc and I was amazed at how well it coped with standard road tyres on it!! I know you will most will shout wtf but it is a 4x4? Lol

Hi, my 2018 Scout is fitted with 235/50/19. I have purchased a set of steel rimmed 215/65/17 winter tyres, l5QF601027A 6.5Jx17 ET38. I’m after some proper off road tyres for these not just winter tyres. What the maximum size I can fit on these. Thanks.

Has anybody any recommendations for a good set towing mirrors in the UK. The 3 pairs that I do have won’t go anywhere near. Thanks

If your friendly with your local MOT centre you could always ask for their advice

Hi, it’s the factory fitted electric drop down one

Engine/DSG intermittent drive problem
Platlet replied to Ulsinus's topic in Skoda Kodiaq MKI (2017-2023)
“Should the Vehicle start to roll away when starting on a downhill slope, STEP ON THE ACCELERATOR OR SWITCH ON THE PARKING BRAKE”. Err I think foot brake would be more appropriate. I can see it now. I was was following the advise in my handbook you Honour! -
Has any body had any issues with the towing electrics on a Scout 190 DSG. My caravan is fitted with filament bulbs (which are all ok as I’ve checked with my Octy) I have a 13 pin checker and they all light up to the corresponding function. My question is are the towing electrics on the car can bus? even the reversing lights don’t work on the van 2x21w. Thanks

Is Eco Mode and Normal Mode the same thing?
Platlet replied to R1100's topic in Skoda Kodiaq MKI (2017-2023)
UK Highway code is not 'law'. I’ll let you argue that one in court? Lol -
Is allowing the wheels to spin not defeating the object of a 4x4 with traction control (I know it has to slip to some extent for the Haldex to kick in)

I can remember years ago that “coasting” was illegal, lol. I think that if you leave it in eco then they are making more money by having more frequent brake pads/discs as a result. -
I am not assuming anything, insurance does not state tyre sizes but they do ask at the proposal stage has the vehicle been modified. If you then change the wheels and tryres to some that are not as is came out of the factory (except recommended winter wheels) then your insurance may be void. It was a general comment and not country specific. If you wish to void your insurance then please carry on.

There is also the insurance issue “ has the vehicle been modified” sorry to pour water on this but if you are involved in a serious accident where investigations take place, you might have problems.

If the setup of the Kodiaq is the same as my Octavia Scout mk2 then I would steer well clear of a HID upgrade. It is well publicised (on this forum) that due to the high voltage start-up of the bulbs it eventually burns out the front wiper motor!! Strange but true. I chose not to and fitted Osram night breakers in my Octy.
