  1. That's the noise, it's perfectly normal though and should go after a few seconds from starting.
  2. That sound is indeed to do with the air system, I've a 2004 VW that does exactly the same so yours is perfectly fine.
  3. Got an intermittent issue, 1.0 tsi 110hp with 3000 miles on it. Sometimes, when I start the car it fires straight away but runs very lumpy for a couple of seconds. When it does this, the revs are quite low then it picks up and idles fine. Most of the time it's fine, but now and then it is rough and lumpy. I know it's under warranty but it's only intermittent and wondered if its a common issue? It's not because it's a 3 cylinder, as when the faults there it feels like it's either running on one or two or it's overfuelling hence chocking.
  4. I had them on my 2016, I found all the road muck just sits in between the mudflaps and bodywork. They hold moisture too, so not fitting any to my new one.
  5. I've noticed on cold start up, the top end is tappity for about a second or so. Guess that's the very thin oil! Anyway, I found a dealer that actually knows about the change and put VW508 in.
  6. I've ordered a litre of the vw508 oil for only £14, from a skoda dealer so it can be found cheap.
  7. Just a shame the dealers aren't updating the servicing, surely Skoda should be telling them? Mines on long life service, but I'll be doing my own oil change at 9500 miles anyway.
  8. This maybe so, but all three dealers I contacted are using 5w30 vw504 oil on the newer cars. So, when you get it serviced you won't get vw508!
  9. It's not gone up because of the VW508 oil! I've contacted three separate dealers, all said they use VW504. So, despite Skoda saying use 508, your dealer won't listen! I'm happy with the 504 5w30, I don't care if using that increases emmisions and it won't cause engine damage. Just a shame the dealers don't appear to have been told.
  10. Skoda UK confirm it's VW508, but their dealers will be putting in 5w30 at first service because no ones told them! That's my conclusion anyway!
  11. Service department just confirmed it's 5w30. Makes sense to me as that's what the 1.0tsi was originally designed to use.
  12. Thanks, I'll get some and remove my bottle of 5w30. I've messaged the dealer to ask too.
  13. So, what oil are the factory putting in? I've got a bottle of 5w30 too, I bet at first service they use 5w30 as well?
  14. Don't be too keen to get the new platform, yes it's very good but a bit boring. I had an Ibiza for 14 months, with the latest platform. It was less fun than the Fabia.
  15. It actually is a characteristic of the Citigo clutch, it's just the mechanism clicking. You can hear it because of the lack of soundproofing. On the facelift Up! you can't hear it, unless you open the window. It really isn't a fault.
  16. I've only had it 3 weeks and I've a second car! I'm loving the colour, in bright sunlight it looks great. Also overall I find it more fun than the Seat I had for just over a year. Hope this one turns out to be a good one.
  17. Haha, I don't get offended or bothered by spats! I've had six new Skodas, apart from a gearbox issue on my 16 plate they've all been excellent cars. Mines just about to hit 1000 miles, so I can start to have fun.
  18. Yes, my current and last Fabia had poor DAB reception. My last car, an I Ibiza was excellent in that respect. Regarding the Citigo, they all click and if you wind your Fabias windows down you'll hear it on them too!
  19. They are Khumo Ecstas, apparently it's a new tyre from them. Great so far.
  20. Those Bridgestones were horrible, mine were terrible in the wet after 30,000 but had tons of tread. My new Fabia has Khumo tyres, so far they are grippier and quiet.
  21. Thing is, you need to compare a Citigo to the Suzuki Celerio which is a terrible car. Swift is nice though, but looked at them and disliked the dash and boot space.
  22. That's weird, they obviously like changing things around.
  23. This apparently is just for the facelift cars, but can't see why. Not from pirate country, just like skulls!
